This community service program was motivated by limited historical awareness among the community of Sukamandi Masagi Village, Sagalaherang Subdistrict, Subang Regency, West Java. It aimed to strengthen local historical awareness, particularly among village youth, through the exploration, documentation, and dissemination of community-based historical narratives using social media as a tool for education and digital archiving. Implemented over eight months (April–November 2026), with an intensive two-day core training and account-creation session, the program engaged 15 village youths and consisted of four stages: preparation, socialization, account creation assistance, and content production assistance. During socialization, participants received material on utilizing social media to strengthen local historical knowledge. They were then divided into five teams of three members each to conduct group discussions and complete a storyboard worksheet as the basis for content production, which subsequently served as a reference for producing video content. The program produced three main outputs: an Instagram account functioning as a sustainable platform for publication and digital archiving, a storyboard worksheet to guide future local historical content production, and one published local historical video. Results show improved understanding and enthusiasm among village youth in documenting and disseminating local history through digital media, as reflected in these three outputs. The program also fostered a sense of ownership among youth toward their village's historical heritage. This program is expected to serve as a model for empowering village youth in the sustainable preservation and dissemination of local history through social media.
