Abstract

This study aims to find out how the use of video media in conveying memorization material, especially in al-Islam lessons at RA Bani Malik Ledug. The method used is a qualitative method through a descriptive approach. Research data obtained through interviews and observations and then analyzed with qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that through video media the memorization process became easier because the teacher could do demonstrations. Where the teacher can carry out the process of recording the memorization movement method which can be videoed or uploaded via YouTube. It is very possible that this makes young children become enthusiastic in practicing by watching the videos that are served when learning al-Islam material which emphasizes memorization material. Early childhood basically has physical, emotional, intelligence and religious moral development, so that when we invite them to move by watching videos it can easily enter their brains. The video media has advantages such as: 1) students are excited when listening to murattal so that students are able to focus on the material being memorized. 2) the use of this video media can be played repeatedly. 3) through the movements in the video, of course, it can improve students' memory which is stored in long term memory. 4) students can learn independently. While the shortcomings of this video media are the differences in the character of students, where there are children who focus on paying attention and some focus on playing. Because early childhood learning activities are pursued by the world of play, so teachers must be patient and inappropriate to use authoritarian nature in conveying their learning activities.

Abstract

Malaysia is one of the countries with the largest Muslim population in Southeast Asia after Indonesia. Kedah, often referred to as the “Serambi Makkah,” has a strong tradition of Islamic education. However, modernization requires institutions such as Kolej Islam Darul Ulum (KIDU) to renew their curricula to stay relevant to contemporary scientific development. The main challenge faced by the partner institution is designing an integrated curriculum that connects Qur’anic sciences with modern disciplines. Indonesia has extensive experience in knowledge integration through conceptual frameworks and institutional practices. This dissemination program aims to provide academic insights on democracy, the philosophical framework of Islamic education, and integrated curriculum development relevant to KIDU’s needs. The method used is collaborative and participatory through academic lectures, dialogic forums, and institutional exchange. The program began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Postgraduate School of UIN Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri (UIN SAIZU) and KIDU as a basis for strengthening the tridharma collaboration. KIDU presented its current academic policy through the development of an integrated curriculum based on a scientific exegesis of Juz 30. The presenter delivered three key themes: democracy and Islamic education in post-reform Indonesia, integrative curriculum characteristics, and the religious-nationalist orientation of Indonesian Islamic education. The results show strategic contributions to institutional capacity building, academic networking, and collaborative research prospects. The program implies the applicability of integrative models and the sustainability of transnational academic dialogue. In conclusion, this dissemination successfully created an exchange platform for developing modern Islamic curricula in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

This study examines the cultivation of Islamic moral education through linguistic habituation grounded in local wisdom, and positions polite speech as a hidden curriculum for the formation of adab within the pesantren environment. It specifically explores the pedagogical role of everyday linguistics practices in shaping students’ moral dispositions beyond formal religious instruction. A qualitative case study was conducted in an Islamic boarding school, involving 18 purposively selected informants, including a kyai, three ustadz, two administrators, and twelve santri. Data were collected through prolonged participant observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and analysis of institutional documents. Trustworthiness was ensured through source and method triangulation, member checking and iterative thematic analysis guided by an interactive analytical model. The findings indicate that polite language, particularly the habitual use of Javanese Krama Inggil, functions not as explicit linguistic instruction but as a culturally embedded moral practice integrated into daily life. Such linguistic habituation fosters verbal politeness, emotional self-control, humility (tawadhu’), and respect toward teachers and peers, thereby cultivating an orderly, low-conflict, and socially harmonious communicative climate. Language thus operates as a mechanism of moral self-regulation functioning as an implicit moral infrastructure that shapes students’ character through continuous interaction. The novelty of this study lies in reconceptualizing language as a core pedagogical instrument and hidden curriculum within Islamic moral education, rather than merely as a communicative or cultural medium. This study contributes theoretically by integrating Islamic moral pedagogy, virtue ethics, and hidden curriculum theory, while practically proposing a context-sensitive model of adab formation adaptable to diverse Islamic educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to reconceptualize Muslim family education in the Society 5.0 era by examining the interaction between Islamic educational values, digital transformation, and contemporary global educational discourse. The study addresses a critical gap in the literature, as existing research on digital parenting often emphasizes technical or behavioral control while giving limited attention to the integration of moral, spiritual, and character dimensions that are central to Islamic education. Therefore, this research seeks to develop an integrative framework that aligns spiritual formation, character education, and digital competence within the family context. Methodologically, this study employs a qualitative Systematic Literature Review. Peer reviewed publications on Muslim family education, character development, and digital parenting published between 2020 and 2026 were systematically selected and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify conceptual trends, theoretical gaps, and recurring patterns. The findings reveal a significant structural and pedagogical transformation in Muslim families, shifting from traditional caregiving roles toward multidimensional educational functions as primary educators, value based digital companions, and moral role models. Islamic values remain the ethical foundation of parenting but are increasingly enacted through dialogical communication, reflective mediation of technology use, and collaboration with schools and communities. Three interrelated dimensions of effective family education are identified, namely spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence, and digital intelligence, which collectively foster morally grounded, emotionally mature, and digitally responsible children. This study contributes theoretically by extending Islamic family education discourse into the Society 5.0 paradigm, conceptually by proposing a holistic integrative model of family based character education, methodologically by synthesizing fragmented interdisciplinary research through a systematic review, and practically by providing strategic guidance for parents, educators, and policymakers in strengthening value oriented digital parenting in technologically mediated societies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the scramble method in learning maharah kitabah (Arabic writing skills) of seventh-grade students at MTs Ihsaniyah Balapulang Tegal. Writing skills are considered one of the most challenging aspects of Arabic language learning because they require mastery of vocabulary, grammatical structure, and the ability to organize ideas logically. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the learning process and student responses in a natural classroom setting. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with the Arabic language teacher and students, and documentation of learning materials and students’ written work. The findings show that the scramble method was implemented through several structured stages, including preparation of scrambled words or sentences, explanation of instructions, student activities in rearranging the language elements, and joint evaluation and reflection. The application of this method encouraged students to actively participate, think critically, and collaborate during the learning process. Students demonstrated increased motivation, confidence, and ability to construct Arabic sentences with more accurate structures. The learning atmosphere became more engaging and interactive compared to conventional teacher-centered instruction. In conclusion, the scramble method proved to be an effective and innovative instructional strategy for developing Arabic writing skills at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level. This method can serve as an alternative approach to enhance students’ engagement and writing competence in Arabic language learning.
