Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health is the primary means of prevention of occupational accidents, disabilities and deaths so that the consequences of occupational accidents from potential hazards can be prevented. Companies need to develop risk management based on hazard identification and risk assessment compiled in occupational safety and health programs. Occupational health and safety risk management is an effort of hazard management which potentially pose a risk to safety and health to prevent unwanted accident. The data collected in this research is primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained through direct observation on the floor processing RSS (Ribbed Smoke Sheet) at PT. PQR is useful to observe the potential hazards of work contained in the work area. While the secondary data taken in this study is historical data. The result of determining the risk value for each hazard source contained in PT. PQR is classified by rankings marked with the code E (extreme risk), H (high risk), M (moderate risk), and L (low risk). This is obtained by comparing the severity and probability values of each process / activity. Of the 28 activities, there are 7 activities included in the category of high risk. Process / activity that belonged to high risk is necessary to control to minimize or even eliminate the existing risks. control measures that can be performed on a high risk process / activity is to use a complete Personal Protective Equipment (APD), MSDS, using warning signs, using ladders in sheet sheets, with ergonomic work posture.Factors causing potential work hazards are workers who perform activities of inadvertent, high temperatures, and negligence of workers in using PPE. These control measures are expected to reduce and even eliminate the risk of the process / activity classified as high risk so that the number of workplace accidents can be reduced.

Abstract

The study at PT. Fenyen Agro Lestari identified poor work postures that affect worker health and productivity. Using the REBA method, the boiler department had the highest risk (score 11), followed by the maintenance (score 6) and Laboratory (score 4). Immediate ergonomic improvements are recommended to reduce musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).  The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of poor working posture on workers' musculoskeletal health in various departments of PT. Fenyen Agro Lestari, Indonesia and recommend ergonomic improvements to reduce the risk of MSDs. The methodology involves REBA for postural assessment, collecting musculoskeletal complaints via questionnaires, and analyzing data to recommend ergonomic improvements. The findings revealed that poor postures cause significant musculoskeletal disorders, especially in the Boiler department, highlighting the need for ergonomic improvements. This study is novel in that it applies the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method to a specific context within PT. Fenyen Agro Lestari, provides tailored ergonomic recommendations for multiple departments and addresses gaps in existing research on posture-related musculoskeletal disorders in the industry. The study’s limitations include a focus on only three departments, potential observer bias, and reliance on subjective questionnaire data, which may not fully capture all musculoskeletal issues or account for variations in individual worker experiences.

Abstract

With an average error rate of 2.3%, the production of fuel transportation tanks at PT Sejahtera Mandiri Pekanbaru has defects that exceed the 2% tolerance level. Porosity, undercut, and crack are the most frequent types of defects that result in additional cost and rework time. This study aims to improve the quality of the fuel transportation tank production process at PT Sejahtera Mandiri Pekanbaru. Data shows that production errors such as porosity, undercut, and cracks have an impact on the quality of the final product. This study used a 2k full factorial design to find the main components that affect the quality of welding results. The results show that operator certification and electrode temperature oven parameters have a great influence on manufacturing defects. Maximizing the use of electrode oven at 260°C-425°C for 1 hour, electrode moisture can be eliminated and porosity can be reduced. The DoE approach is good for finding and optimizing production features to reduce defect rates. This study suggests operator training and control of process parameters to improve welding quality.

Abstract

General elections are vital to democracy in Indonesia, yet the occupational health and safety (K3) of Voting Organizer Group (KPPS or election officers) officers is often overlooked. This study evaluates the impact of workload on the physiological health of election officers during the 2024 General Election using an ergonomics-based approach. Data were collected from seven KPPS members at TPS 07 Cerme Kidul, Gresik, East Java, measuring blood pressure and oxygen saturation before and after election day. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test revealed significant increases in blood pressure (p = 0.046) and decreases in oxygen saturation (p = 0.047) post-election. Key risk factors identified include long working hours, insufficient rest, and static positions. The study recommends interventions such as work shift rotations, extended rest periods, enhanced health screenings, and ergonomic improvements at polling stations. These measures aim to improve the health and safety of election officers, contributing to safer and more sustainable elections.
