Abstract

Indonesia memegang peran penting dalam industri maritim dunia. Salah satunya melalui penyediaan pelaut untuk pangsa pasar nasional maupun internasional. Besarnya jumlah pelaut Indonesia jika tidak diimbangi dengan kualitas atau kompetensinya menyebabkan lemahnya daya serap pelaut Indonesia ke kapal dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Kompetensi yang dimiliki manusia dapat diketahui oleh orang yang melihat dan menilai aktifitas yang dia lakukan. Dengan membandingkan antara persepsi dan harapan, kita bisa mengetahui apakah ada gap (kesenjangan) dalam mencapai suatu tujuan. Dalam penelitian ini dibahas persepsi dan harapan kompetensi perwira mesin kapal asal Indonesia tahun 2017 menggunakan analisis kesenjangan. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh tingkat kesesuaian antara persepsi dan harapan kompetensi perwira mesin kapal untuk kompetensi permesinan kapal sebesar 78.92%, kompetensi listrik, elektronika, dan sistem kontrol sebesar 77.69%, kompetensi perawatan dan perbaikan sebesar 77.97%, kompetensi pengendalian operasi kapal dan penanganan personil di kapal sebesar 77.34% serta kompetensi softskill sebesar 80.92%. Kesenjangan yang terjadi antara persepsi dan harapan kompetensi perwira mesin kapal adalah negatif.

Abstract

In handling cargo, some types of ships have different ways. On gas tankers containing LPG, a special process is required in avoiding explosions in cargo tanks and avoiding the waste of cargo into the atmosphere. The process of handling the payload is the inerting porses on the payload tank. This process includes inert gas with oxygen levels of less than 8% to prevent the formation of fire triangles in the payload tank so as to avoid explosions. Inert gas is produced by an engine in the form of an Inert Gas Generator. Inert gas generators have several components, the process of which is interconnected with each other to produce inert gases. Inert gas generators require a good and correct maintenance and repair system considering the purpose of inserting inert gas into the payload tank is significant in terms of safety and security on board. Case study on board MT. Walio gas observes the activities of the inerting process that is disrupted by the waste of inert gas into the atmosphere and has a high dew point value so that inert gas does not enter the tank load. From the results of the case study intended that the components on the gas generator inert do not function properly, some analysis is done by observing the continuity of the process and written data so that it is expected that the case study has the benefit in theory and practice in handling the continuity of the inerting process.

Abstract

The study looked at the impact of work performance awards in improving a company's business development on incentives provided with the work environment. The goal is to determine the balance of performance assessment with the company's objectives so that it can take strategic decisions in business development through its employees. Observations are conducted using statistical tests that focus between incentives with work performance, work environment and work performance as well as incentives and work environments. Statistical testing is done to find out positive and significant relationships between variables in their interrelationships. Testing uses regression analysis, correlation, determination, correlation hypothesis. Observations find positive and significant values between variables. Indications of business development towards the achievement of targets will be greatly influenced by the variable factors tested so that it is found that staffing management has a large influence and benchmark on business development, especially limited liability companies

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki peran penting dalam industri maritim dunia, terutama mengisi kebutuhan pelaut untuk segmen pasar nasional dan internasional. Banyaknya pelaut Indonesia jika tidak diimbangi dengan kompetensi maka penyerapan pelaut Indonesia ke kapal di dalam negeri dan luar negeri akan rendah. Kompetensi manusia dapat diketahui oleh orang yang melihat dan menilai kegiatan mereka. Dengan membandingkan antara persepsi dan harapan, kita dapat mengetahui bahwa ada kesenjangan dalam mencapai suatu tujuan. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang analisis kesenjangan antara persepsi dan harapan kompetensi perwira mesin kapal untuk ATT-III pada tahun 2017. Dari hasil penelitian, tingkat kesesuaian antara persepsi dan harapan kompetensi perwira mesin kapal untuk kompetensi permesinan kapal sebesar 78,92%, kompetensi elektronika, listrik, dan sistem control sebesar 77,69%, kompetensi perawatan dan perbaikan permesinan kapal sebesar 77,97%, pengendalian pengoperasian kapal sebesar 77,34% dan softskill sebesar 80,92%. Lebih lanjut, Kesenjangan antara persepsi dan harapan kompetensi perwira mesin kapal adalah negatif.

Abstract

Vessel operational costs are dominated by fuel purchases. Furthermore, monitoring the consumption of fuel oil on the ship is not given enough attention, because the officers concentrate more on how the ship can move to its destination. The purpose of this study is to determine the correction that must be done as well as the impact caused if the consumption of fuel oil through the flowmeter on the ship is corrected using ASTM-IP. The subjects of this study were four vessels in the PT. S. I. Ship Management with specific graphity (SG) of 0.9601. From the results of the study show the output data flowmeter on the main engine must be multiplied by the factor for reducting the volume to 15o C in ASTM-IP so that it has an impact on the accuracy in reporting fuel consumption. As a result operational costs are reduced and the ship company can sell its services competitively

Abstract

The Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), the 74th Session held on May 13-17, 2019, has highlighted several agendas, such as air pollution and energy efficiency. The draft guide to Port State Control (PSC) on contingency measures to address non-compliant fuel oil provides more details on managing the fuel still on board after the final fuel oil non-availability report (FONAR). Tanjung Priok Port is the largest and most complete port in Indonesia and is expected to provide reception facilities to support its implementation. The reception facilities owned by Tanjung Priok Port consist of tugboats, barges, separator pumps, and storage tanks. Most of these facilities are considered sufficient to provide and serve the needs of ships, especially those that need the appropriate fuel oil to come to the port. However, there is a potential shortage of reception facility services. This study aims to determine the availability and adequacy of port reception facilities in Tanjung Priok to formulate strategies to overcome non-compliant oil implementation. Field studies and surveys of respondents were conducted for data collection. Gap analysis is used to compare perceptions and expectations of the performance of port revenue facilities. The survey instrument consists of legality, equipment, infrastructure, and human resources aspects.

Abstract

Pencapaian prestasi akademik siswa seolah-olah sebagai satu-satunya tolak ukur keberhasilan perkuliahan selama belajar di kampus. Prestasi Akademik mahasiswa, dalam hal ini taruna, antara lain dilihat dari Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK). Semakin tinggi nilai IPK taruna, maka diindikasikan pencapaiannya dalam bidang akademik bagus juga. Demikian pula sebaliknya, bila IPK-nya buruk, maka dapat menjadi indikasi bahwa taruna yang bersangkutan kurang berhasil dalam memahami materi kuliah yang disajikan selama semester perkuliahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mencari informasi dari taruna mengenai faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi prestasi akademik mereka serta mencari akar permasalahan yang mempengaruhi pencapaian prestasi akademik tersebut sehingga didapat solusi agar pencapaian prestasi akademik taruna meningkat.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is review the cost of education on the ability to pay and assessment of student satisfaction in uni-versities, especially in the maritime field. Research is outlined in the description taken data from several information retrieval techniques, further literature studies are used as support for nar-rative development. The results illustrate students provide a good assessment of the cost of education and the quality of services held but the concept of budgeting mechanisms is still not affordable information by students. To improve the quality of service quality, in accordance with applicable regulations and policies, in the implementation of monitoring and evaluation of service quality, agencies/educational institutions are required to take customer satisfaction assessment. In the development of realizing a quality education, of course the implementation will not be separated from the financing element. In universities, the cost of education is still a major issue in the implementation of education. The benefits of the research are expected to contribute informa-tion to the mechanism of cost budgeting and improve-ment of education services as well as provide an understanding of the importance of balance of education costs, quality of education services and become a reference for further research from observations.

Abstract

Ultraviolet water sterilizer is a long cylindrical device used for the sterilization of water into drinkable water. Ultraviolet water sterilizer has two main parts: an adapter and UV tubes. The adapter serves to drain the ratio of electricity according to the voltage and current required by ultraviolet water sterilizer. UV tubes contain ultraviolet lamps where light is the main equipment for making the water drinkable and the water will flow along with the ultraviolet rays, so that the water flowing in the tube is passed through the sterilization process with ultraviolet rays so that the water is unfit for consumption. The problems that the authors take in this study are the factors that affect the declining quality of sterilization, the impact of what happens when the quality of sterilization decreases, and what efforts are made to keep the quality of sterilization is not decreased. The data was collected through observations, interviews, and literature directly related to the subject related to the factors, the impact, as well as the efforts of the decline in the sterilization process to the sterilizer in order to improve the quality of drinking water. The cause of the decline to the sterilization process in order to improve the quality of drinking water in MV. PAN EPIC that dirty filters, dirty water tubes, and the dirty ultraviolet lamp or resulting in less fresh water, complaints against the company, as well as the ship's operational costs are reduced. Therefore some efforts are made to improve the quality of the results of sterilization including cleaning filters, cleaning water tubes, and also cleaning the germicidal lamp,
