Abstract

Online learning caused polemics in education, so teachers began showing action in creative pedagogy through the learning media, such as podcasts. This study aims to describe podcast media that can be used to grow students’ historical imagination in learning History and Social Sciences. Historical imagination is the cognitive ability to add or fill an insufficient space of historical facts. This research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The subject of this study was an eleventh-grade student of the social studies program at SMA Negeri 1 Tuntang and a teacher—data collection through online interviews via a Google form. The results showed that podcast media is a form of creative learning in history and social studies. Podcasts as a medium to grow students’ historical imagination through the material “Stories from the Past” and “Come on Listen” content. The results showed that 74.6% of students responded positively about implementing podcast media. Despite having a high presentation in positive responses, 22.2% of students still have difficulty understanding the material using podcast media, and the rest feel ordinary, so they give advice. Based on this, it can be concluded that podcast media can be used to grow students’ historical imagination despite several internal and external obstacles. An internal bottleneck in the podcast creation process takes quite a while. In contrast, external barriers are caused by students’ growing demands for podcast-based learning. Keywords: Media Podcast, Historical Imagination, Social Studies, Covid-19 PandemicPembelajaran daring menimbulkan polemik dalam dunia pendidikan, sehingga guru mulai berunjuk aksi dalam pedagogi kreatif melalui media pembelajaran yang digunakan seperti pemanfaatan media podcast. Abstract

The Sungai Lulut traditional market is a market in the Banjar Regency area, specifically in the Sungai Lulut sub-district. In this market there are economic activities that can be used as a learning resource. The learning process cannot be separated from the learning resources used. One of several learning sources that can be used is the environment. With regard to the environment, there is economic activity from the distribution around students that can be used as a learning resource in social studies learning. Learning resources that utilize existing economic activities in the market are still not optimally used by teachers because there are obstacles such as limited time, remote locations and inadequate facilities, even though they are very effective if used as learning resources. This research aims to describe the economic activities of distribution activities in the Sungai Lulut traditional market as a social studies learning resource. The approach used in this research is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The data validity test used is triangulation of sources, techniques and time. The research results show that distribution activities in the Sungai Lulut traditional market are through direct and indirect distribution. Direct distribution, for example, risol traders and food stalls in the Sungai Lulut traditional market. This distribution activity is suitable for social studies learning as a learning resource for economic activity material, namely production, distribution and consumption at the even seventh semester grade junior high school level.

Abstract

The social media application TikTok, especially among millennial college students, has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years. With the number of downloads continuing to increase, TikTok offers a wide variety of engaging content that captivates a wide audience. This research aims to explore the impact of the use of TikTok on students, not only as a means of entertainment, but also in social, psychological, and cultural contexts. This research method involved interviews with 15 college students and meta-analysis of 20 relevant articles, to gain deeper insights into user interactions with the platform. The findings suggest that the use of TikTok can have a double impact. On the one hand, the platform serves as a tool to strengthen social relationships, increase creativity, and allow for positive self-expression, especially for college students who use it for constructive purposes. On the other hand, overuse can harm academic productivity, trigger social anxiety, sleep disturbances, and decreased mental health. Therefore, it is important for students to manage their time and content consumption on TikTok wisely, in order to minimize negative impacts, while taking advantage of the social and creative potential offered by this application. This research is expected to contribute to understanding the influence of TikTok on students' lifestyles and social interactions in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of mutual cooperation activities in maintaining social solidarity in Semangat Village, a village with a fairly dense population. Although large populations are often a challenge in building harmonious social relationships, the results of the study show that the values of mutual cooperation are still very well maintained and closely intertwined. Gotong Royong activities in this village not only function in the physical aspect, but also in strengthening social relations between residents, building a sense of togetherness, and caring for each other. However, the main challenge faced is the low participation of the younger generation, which is affected by the changes in modern lifestyles. Therefore, efforts are needed to adapt gotong royong activities to the times, including the use of technology and social media. This study concludes that, with the right strategy, gotong royong activities in Semangat Village can continue to develop and provide greater social benefits, while maintaining the human values that are the basis of the life of the village community.

Abstract

The integration of social studies and religious education is essential to foster social awareness among Madrasah Aliyah students. This study investigates the effectiveness of the web-based Cultural Religious Integration Model (CRIM) application in enhancing students’ social awareness. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, involving 64 twelfth-grade students from two Islamic institutions in Indonesia: MA Sirnamiskin Bandung (n=20) and MAN 2 Banjarmasin (n=44). The students’ social awareness was evaluated based on five key indicators: tolerance for differences, cooperation in diversity, respect for traditions and cultures, communication etiquette, and active participation in promoting social harmony. The results indicated that the CRIM application significantly improved social awareness, with students from both institutions achieving “very good” ratings on all indicators. The application, which utilizes real-life scenarios and interactive learning activities, facilitated students’ understanding through discussions, case studies, and projects. This study contributes to the expanding field of technology-enhanced religious education, offering valuable implications for the development of inclusive educational models in Islamic schools. Future research should explore expanding the CRIM application’s functionality and assessing its effectiveness in various educational settings to further enhance its impact on social awareness.
