Abstract

Background: Ethnomathematics is a mathematics learning approach integrating students' cultural and social contexts into mathematical content. This approach is important for enhancing the relevance and understanding of mathematics at the elementary school level, particularly in fostering multicultural awareness and promoting social justice. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, including issues related to the curriculum, teacher preparedness, and the availability of culture-based teaching materials. Aim: This study aims to analyze the urgency of implementing ethnomathematics in elementary mathematics education and to identify the challenges encountered in its application. A literature review method was employed, analyzing journal articles, books, and previous research on ethnomathematics, elementary mathematics curricula, and culture-based learning practices. Data were collected from databases such as ERIC, Google Scholar, and Scopus and then analyzed thematically. Result and Discussions: The findings indicate that ethnomathematics is highly urgent for (1) increasing students' learning motivation through familiar cultural contexts, (2) developing critical thinking regarding socio-cultural realities, and (3) supporting inclusive education. However, implementation challenges include (1) a lack of teacher training in designing culture-based materials, (2) limited standardized ethnomathematics resources, and (3) resistance from an education system still oriented toward national examinations.

Abstract

Background: This also happens to PGSD students. Based on observations, show that the majority of students have carried out academic procrastination such as delaying doing coursework, delaying studying when facing exams, and sometimes choosing to do things that are more fun and unrelated to academic assignments. The emergence of academic procrastination behavior is caused by several factors, including low intrinsic motivation, laziness in studying, lack of discipline in the way parents educate them, influence from friends in their environment, as well as a lack of self-regulated learning (SRL) in managing time for doing assignments with other things. Aim: This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulated learning on academic procrastination of Muhammadiyah University students of Palangkaraya. Method: This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The population of this study was 2714, while the sample was 349 students. Data were collected by using several instruments in the form of an academic procrastination scale and a self-regulated learning scale. Statistical testing using linear regression analysis. Results and Dıscussion: The results of the study indicated that the significance value is 0.025 <0.05. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the self-regulated learning on academic procrastination of Muhammadiyah University students of Palangkaraya.

Abstract

Background: The implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in schools, especially at muhammadiyah palangka raya integrated islamic elementary school has become a concern. This is because the results of initial observations found that teacher and student activities during learning could not support student learning outcomes, especially in Mathematics learning. Thus, it is important to analyze mathematics learning in implementing the Merdeka curriculum at muhammadiyah palangka raya integrated islamic elementary school. Aim: Aim of this research is to describe the analysis of mathematics learning in implementing the independent curriculum at SD IT Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya. Method: This type of research is a type of qualitative research where the data that is found will be described according to the research focus. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The data that has been collected is then analyzed and reduced using data simplification and retrieval of supporting data in this research so that the conclusions drawn can be justified. Results and Dıscussion: The results of the research show that mathematics learning in implementing the independent curriculum has been carried out well at muhammadiyah palangka raya integrated islamic elementary school. This can be seen from the preparation and implementation stages which have gone well. Conclusion: Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya integrated Islamic Elementary School has implemented mathematics education well as part of its Merdeka curriculum. This is evident from the proficient execution of the majority of preparation and learning components.

Abstract

Background: Students need Self-regulated learning to achieve maximum learning outcomes. In mathematics, students are often faced with challenges in solving complex problems or questions. So, in order for students to be able to face these challenges, students must have the motivation and strategy to solve them. This shows that students must have good Self-regulated Learning skills. The Think Pair Share learning model, can accommodate and have a positive influence on students' self-regulated learning. Aim: This research aims to find out how much difference the influence of the Think Pair Share learning model has on students' Self-regulated Learning in studying Mathematics. Method: This research is quantitative research. The population and sample size are 21 fourth-grade students in one of the state elementary schools in Palangkaraya. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument is a self-regulated learning scale questionnaire. The research conclusion analysis technique used in this research is the paired sample t-test. Results and Discussion: The SRL t_calculation value obtained using TPS learning was 7.074 and a significance value of 0.000. The significance value is 0.000 < 0.05 and t-count > t-table, namely 7.074 > 1.976 so Ho is rejected. Conclusion: There is a positive influence of Think Pair Share learning on the Self-regulated Learning of fourth-grade elementary school students in learning mathematics.
