Abstract

Many areas in Indonesia still have water sources that are unsuitable for daily use. One such area is the vicinity of Sungai Geneng Mosque, Kembang Bahu District, Lamongan Regency. In this area, the water source contains high levels of lime and organic materials, making it unsuitable for consumption. To address this issue, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team from Politeknik Perkapalan Negeri Surabaya (PPNS) implemented a water filtration application in the area. The filtration method used is the anaerobic filtration system. Based on the filtration results, high levels of lime were successfully reduced to meet health standards, making the water clean and safe for consumption. Additionally, the organic materials in the water were converted into biogas, which serves as an alternative energy source for cooking and environmentally friendly vehicles.

Abstract

Banyaknya Pelabuhan di Indonesia yang belum menerapkan Key Performance Indicator dalam evaluasi operasional kerjanya dan minimnya pengembangan teknologi sebagai nilai tambah dalam operasional Pelabuhan di Indonesia. Dilakukannya evaluasi dan pengukuran kinerja berdasarkan pada standar yang ada merupakan hal yang cukup penting dalam peningkatan kualitas kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan rumusan KPI dengan merujuk pada gabungan metode BSC dan PESTLE untuk meningkatkan kinerja pelabuhan. Penggabungan metode BSC dan PESTLE yang juga disertai dengan konsep sustainability, smart dan green port. Metode BSC digunakan sebagai ukuran kinerja perusahaan secara keseluruhan tetapi lebih menitikberatkan pada aspek internal perusahaan, sedangkan PESTLE digunakan sebagai ukuran kinerja pada aspek eksternal pelabuhan. Berdasarkan hasil studi literatur, metode-metode tersebut terbukti dapat digunakan sebagai alat ukur kinerja pelabuhan, sehingga perlu diintegrasikan karena perusahaan harus berada pada posisi kompetitif dengan informasi internal dan eksternal yang dibutuhkan. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan KPI yang telah dirumuskan dalam proses evaluasi kinerja Pelabuhan cukup penting untuk dilakukan.

Abstract

The composition of waste generated from human activities is 60-70% organic waste, and the remainder is non-organic waste (30-40%). Of this non-organic waste, plastic waste makes up the second largest portion, at 14%. The large percentage of household waste represents both a problem and an opportunity to address the waste problem at its source. This can be achieved by involving and educating housewives who come into direct contact with household waste. Housewives should be educated on the importance of managing waste from its source, using the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), classifying the types of plastic waste, and handling them appropriately. Educated housewives are expected to become ambassadors who will spread their understanding of the importance of changing the public's mindset regarding plastic waste management.
