Abstract

The development of technology makes the world become narrow and various kinds of information and shows become easy to access, including by children. Various kinds of acts of violence, crime, even videos or content that are not yet suitable for children to watch are more easily accessible through devices. This has a negative impact on the lives of the nation's children, for example theft, sexual violence, and brawl committed by children and adolescents. Thus, the inculcation of moral values by both parents and teachers becomes a "must" thing to do so that the next generation of the nation is maintained. If we talk about implanting moral values on children, we surely need the right media to use. One way is by storytelling. By listening to stories, directly or not, children will absorb the moral values of what they hear. In addition, knowledge of the vocabulary of a language will be absorbed by children. We know that there are golden ages in children where children have periods where their brains are like sponges that are able to absorb many things. This paper was a literature study that discussed the correlation between storytelling in the process of improving language skills and implanting moral values on children. Based on several available sources, it can be concluded that the use of storytelling as a medium was an effective thing to use on children.

Abstract

Bibliometric analysis has emerged as a powerful tool for understanding research trends in translation studies. By systematically analyzing large volumes of academic publications, bibliometric methods were able to reveal patterns and trends that might not be immediately apparent. The data for this bibliometric analysis were collected from the ScienceDirect database, https://www.sciencedirect.com/. The search focused on research articles related to translation studies published between 2015 and 2024. The keyword used was “translation” to identify relevant publications. Two main conclusions were drawn from this research. First, VOSviewer provided a global map of existing research, in this context based on the ScienceDirect database. The visualization of co-occurrences of the keyword “translation” showed that a substantial amount of research has been conducted about translation studies, such as translation related to culture, higher education, the use of questionnaires in such research, translation studies in China or France, and several other aspects. This also revealed that research on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for translation had not been extensively conducted, such as the translation using ChatGPT, Google Bard AI, DeepL Translate, and others. Second, regarding authorship visualization, the visualization provided by VOSviewer helped researchers quickly identify authors or researchers who could be referenced in translation studies.

Abstract

The globalization of economies has ensured that precarious work is a fast-emerging feature of many contemporary labor markets. Precarious work is essential to study because it impinges on workers' rights, economic stability, and social welfare. While previous works researched the effects of precarious employment, they often needed to address these themes and their trends for an overall outlook of how precariousness seems to come together in discourse. This paper intends to fill the gap by systematically applying a new data visualization tool called VOS Viewer to review related literature. Specifically, the study tries to map the network of articles, key themes, prolific authors, and new trends, especially on precarious employment. The nature of the research was qualitative, and the available literature on the research trends in the world currently and their gaps were analyzed. Results indicate precarious employment with Covid-19, climate change, gender issues, poverty, and mental health. Moreover, in the Indonesian context, connections are drawn to commodification, COVID-19, and community resilience; this indicates significant gaps and points to ample avenues for further research. Precarious employment needs further in-depth exploration beyond the well-researched areas, especially in Indonesia, to grapple with the challenges posed by such an evolving employment landscape.

This research aimed to determine whether there is an influence on mudharabah financing on the income of seller members at BMT Usaha Artha Sejahtera Bojonegoro. The population in this research were 120 seller members at BMT Usaha Artha Sejahtera Bojonegoro. Samples taken by the authors were 52 respondents with stratified random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were questionnaires while data analysis techniques using simple regression analysis. The research instrument test used the classical assumption test and the statistical test is the t test (partial) and to measure the effect between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The results of this research indicated that financing with mudharabah agreement influenced member income seen from the t test (partial test) sig value of 0,000, so that the tcount > t table and sig value < 0.1 were positive, and there was a regression equation Y = 5,630 + 0,652, in which it showed the value of regression X coefficient of 0.652 thus if mudharabah financing increased one-unit, then income would rise by 0.652 assuming the other variables are in constant state.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze state spending for handling Covid-19 from the perspective of maqâshid al-syarî`ah (sharia objective). The analysis was carried out by mapping the Covid-19 budget in five dimensions of maqâshid al-syarî`ah, including hifdz al-dîn (protection of religion), hifdz al-nafs (protection of the soul), hifdz al-‘aql (protection of thinking), hifdz al-nasl (protection of offspring/family), and hifdz al-mâl ((protection of property). The mapping results were compared with the budget for each dimension of maqâshid al-syarî`ah and the total budget for Covid-19; and finally compared to the total of state budget; as well as total debt. This research used a descriptive quantitative approach. The object of research was ASEAN member countries with the criteria of having more than 50% Muslim population, and their state budget data was available on the official website of the Ministry of Finance which can be accessed via the internet. The results of the research, in Indonesia and Malaysia, allocated funds for handling Covid-19 for the fulfillment of hifdz al-nafs, hifdz al-mâl, but not for the fulfillment of hifdz al-nafs funds. In Indonesia, there was no budget allocation for hifdz al-dîn, hifdz al-‘aql, and hifdz al-nafs. Malaysia has allocated Covid-19 handling funds for hifdz al-dîn and hifdz al ‘aql.

Abstract

In recent years, smart home devices have been promoted as tools for enhancing efficiency and convenience in household management. However, their influence on domestic labor and gender roles remains underexplored, particularly regarding their impact on the lives of female domestic workers. This systematic review examines the impact of smart home technologies on domestic workers and the implications for gender roles. This study employs a comprehensive search strategy across Scopus databases to select relevant articles, ensuring a thorough examination of existing literature on the intersection of smart home technology, domestic labor, and gender. The PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines help researchers plan and carry out systematic reviews systematically, maintain transparency, reduce bias, and achieve rigor in review processes. The results point out that potential smart home technologies can both empower and constrain domestic workers. On the one hand, these technologies can enhance workers' autonomy by reducing the physical demands of domestic tasks. On the other hand, they can increase surveillance and control over domestic workers, potentially intensifying their workload and reinforcing traditional gender norms. The integration of smart home technologies into domestic settings has complex implications for gender equity. While these technologies offer opportunities to challenge traditional gender roles, they can also reinforce existing inequalities if not carefully implemented.
