Abstract

Telah dilakukan remediasi logam seng (Zn) pada air bekas tambang timah menggunakan nanomagnetik Fe3O4/kitosan dari cangkang rajungan. Remediasi logam seng pada air bekas tambang timah dilakukan dengan memvariasikan massa Fe3O4 (0 mg, 75 mg, 95 mg, 105 mg, 120 mg) dan lama pengadukan (30 menit, 40 menit dan 50 menit). Nanomagnetik (Fe3O4)/kitosan cangkang rajungan berhasil menurunkan konsentrasi logam seng (Zn) pada air bekas tambang timah sebesar 89,17%. Abstract

Post-tin mining has caused a major problem in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands, which leaves declining water quality of dam-water. The aim of this study is to employing jengkol shells to adsorb Pb metal from post tin-mining water. Biosorbent preparation from jengkol (Pithecellobium jiringa) shells was done by HNO3 activation. Metal absorption by biosorbent was applied to post tin-mining water. The functional groups involved in the adsorption process are studied by FTIR characterization. The results showed a shift of wave numbers in hydroxyl, sulfonyl and phosphate groups proving that these three functional groups were involved in absorb of Pb metal on the surface of biosorbent

Abstract

Tumbuh kembangnya anak- anak yang optimal tergantung pada pemberian nutrisi dengan kualitas dan kuantitas yang baik serta benar. Banyaknya asupan makanan pada anak menjadi hal utama yang patut diperhatikan. Namun demikian, pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat akan maraknya peredaran bahan pangan dengan zat aditif berbahaya masih sangat rendah. Adapun permasalahan ini timbul karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan kepedulian warga terhadap peredaran zat aditif yang berbahaya pada bahan pangan serta jenis yang sering dijumpai; kurangnya pengetahuan dan kepedulian warga terhadap bahaya yang dapat ditimbulkan oleh penggunaan bahan tambahan yang berbahaya pada makanan; belum adanya pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tentang cara mengidentifikasi adanya zat aditif berbahaya pada bahan pangan. Untuk memecahkan persoalan ini, maka pengusul program memberikan wawasan melalui informasi dan diskusi ke mitra program tentang zat aditif berbahaya pada bahan pangan. Selain itu telah dilakukan praktik identifikasi adanya bahan tambahan pangan berbahaya yang bekerjasama dengan BPOM Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Setelah dilakukan penyampaikan informasi dan diskusi, serta praktik maka diharapkan masyarakat mampu meningkatkan pengetahuannya mengenai bahan tambahan pangan berbahaya yang akan dievaluasi melalui pemberian angket sehingga program ini dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup sehat masyarakat di Kecamatan Merawang

Abstract

ABSTRAKKelurahan Srimenati merupakan kelurahan di Kecamatan Sungailiat Kabupaten Bangka yang hanya memiliki 1 lokasi tempat pembuangan sampah. Pengolahan sampah umumnya hanya dihancurkan dan didistribusikan ke tempat pengolahan sampah dan bank sampah. Sejauh ini pengolahan sampah hanya dilakukan oleh Kelompok Swadaya Masyarakat (KSM). Kurang optimalnya pengolahan pupuk kompos yang telah dilakukan sehingga kualitas pupuk kompos yang dihasilkan masih rendah, terbatasnya stimulator EM4 karena biaya yang mahal dan kurangnya inovasi pengolahan pupuk kompos yang berkualitas. Pada program pengabdian ini dilakukan penyuluhan tentang peningkatan kualitas pupuk kompos berbasis limbah rumah tangga, mitra pengabdian yaitu dari kelompok swadaya masyarakat (KSM) Srimenanti Jaya dan masyarakat sekitar. Sekitar 31 peserta berpartisipasi pada program ini, kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan langsung dan tidak langsung, monitoring dan evaluasi melalui kuesinoner. Pada dasarnya kualitas pupuk kompos dapat ditingkatkan jika memperhatikan beberapa parameter salah satunya yaitu nisbah C/N, mikroba perombak bahan organik memerlukan karbon sebagai sumber energi untuk pertumbuhan dan nitrogen untuk pembentukan protein. Mikroba terpilih tersebut juga dikenal sebagai Effective Microorganism 4 (EM4). Hasil pengabdian dapat memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga dan pengolahannya menjadi pupuk organik cair serta mengurangi ketergantungan masyarakat dalam penggunaan pupuk kimia. Kata kunci: EM4; KSM; pupuk organik; sampah. ABSTRACTSrimenati Village is a sub-district in Sungailiat Subdistrict, Bangka Regency, which only has 1 garbage disposal location. Waste processing is generally only crushed and distributed to landfills and waste banks. So far, solid waste processing has only been carried out by Community Self-Help Groups (KSM). Less optimal compost processing that has been done so that the quality of compost produced is still low, the limited EM4 stimulator due to high costs and the lack of quality compost processing innovation. In this service program, counseling was conducted on improving the quality of household waste-based compost, community service partners, namely from the Srimenanti Jaya community self-help group (KSM) and the surrounding community. Approximately 31 participants participated in this program, activities were carried out by direct and indirect counseling methods as well as monitoring and evaluation through questionnaires. Basically, the quality of compost can be improved if you pay attention to several parameters, one of which is the C / N ratio, microbes that break down organic matter require carbon as an energy source for growth and nitrogen for protein formation. The selected microbes are also known as Effective Microorganism 4 (EM4). The results of this service can provide information to the community about the use of household waste and its processing into liquid organic fertilizer and reduce community dependence on the use of chemical fertilizers. Keywords: EM4; KSM; organic fertilizers; garbage.

Abstract

Sempan Village is one of the villages in Pemali District of Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands which do not yet have the featured products, while this village has nipah plants that are not used optimally. The nipah fruit can be further processed into a featured product of village i.e. syrup. The service program Chemistry Department is training Sempan Village society on the manufacture of syrup from nipah fruit. The method of this activity includes three stages i.e. preparation, implementation and evaluation. Abstract

In this article, the author reports that the manufacture of edible films has been carried out as well as an analysis of the effect of adding starch on the functional characteristics of edible films. The stages of making bioplastics include extracting starch from empty oil palm fruit bunches, making edible plastics and material characterization. In the manufacture of bioplastics, variations in starch content are carried out to determine the most appropriate starch content in producing edible films. Based on the results of the FTIR characterization of edible films with variations in the amount of starch, it shows that the more the amount of starch added, the hydrophilic properties of the edible film will increase.

Abstract

One of the efforts in tackling the increasingly large amount of plastic waste is to synthesize composite material from plastic waste with Pelawan’s wood sawdust (Tristaniopsis merguensis) as a raw material for the uphold of pepper plants. Pelawan is one of the endemic plants in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The characteristic observed in this study is the functional group of plastic waste composites with Pelawan’s wood sawdust, which was obtained from FTIR analysis. The method used in this study is to mix plastic waste and wood dust against contraper with variation ratio (wt / wt). The results of this FTIR show that there is an effect of the ratio of the amount of plastic waste and wood dust against the intensity of IR absorption. Based on IR data, the presence of absorption peak of FTIR spectrum at wave number 3327 cm-1 and widening of absorption in the region of wave number 3000-3550 cm-1 indicates the presence of O-H functional groups. The absorption band of the O-H vibrations is due to the presence of water molecules found in cellulose contained in the Pelawan’s wood sawdust. The absorption peak at wave number 1737 cm-1 indicates the existence of strain vibrations from the functional group C=O. While the absorption peak at wave number 1300-1000 cm-1 indicates the existence of stretch vibration from C-O. Therefore, the absorption tapes indicate the presence of cellulose originating from Pelawan’s wood sawdust which has been bound to plastic.

Abstract

Adsorption was carried out on the water of post tin mining using nanomagnetic Fe3O4/chitosan from Portunus pelagicus shells. Nanomagnetic Fe3O4/Chitosan was prepared for lead adsorption. The nanomagnetic Fe3O4 was characterized through XRD and chitosan was characterized through FTIR The concentration of Pb in post tin mining water is 0,36 ppm. This study varied the mass of Fe3O4 and stirring time. The adsorption results were analyzed by AAS and obtained the largest adsorption efficiency (58,33%) at stirring 30 minutes with a mass of Fe3O4 of 75 mg.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh impregnasi kaolin Pulau Bangka terhadap serapan terhadap ekstrak bunga kiacret dengan pelarut n-heksana. Impregnasi kaolin-ekstrak bunga kiacret dengan pelarut n-heksana ianalisis menggunakan FTIR dan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Berdasarkan analisis FTIR terjadi pergeseran bilangan gelombang pada 780 cm-1 ke 718 cm-1. Selain itu adanya pergeseran bilangan gelombang ekstrak bunga kiacret dari 1063 cm-1 ke 1044 cm-1 pada ekstrak bunga-kaolin teraktivasi. Spektra UV-Vis menunjukkan bahwa penambahan kaolin (variasi 2 gram) menyebabkan daerah serapan ekstrak kiacret n-heksana mengalami pelebaran hingga 404 cm.
