Abstract

This research aims to describe the feasibility of Web-FIST media in terms of validity and effectiveness. the use of Web-FIST to practice students' critical thinking on the topic of parabolic motion. This study uses a research design model of Hannafin & Peck. The data collection technique used was the validity instrument, the pretest-posttest in the form of an essay, and the response questionnaire with the subject of 13 students of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Senior High School in Tuban. The validity is reviewed based on the suitability of the following aspects:1) the web system, 2) the correctness of the content of the material, 3) the STEM approach, 4) critical thinking characteristics, 5) the material with the nature of physics, and 6) competency standards. While the effectiveness in terms of the results of critical thinking observations and student responses. Media validation was carried out by two media experts. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, the results of the Web-FIST validity are 92.83% with a very valid classification (92.83%). The results of the effectiveness of using Web-FIST obtained an N-Gain of 0.6 with a moderate classification, while from the assessment of student responses an average value of 86% was obtained with a very effective classification. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the developed Web-FIST is suitable for use in the learning process and can train students' critical thinking about parabolic motion.

Abstract

Several researchers have researched mobile learning development, but it is different from MolBEST (STEM-Based Mobile Learning). This is because MolBEST developed has features that can train scientific literacy and 21st-century skills that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This research aims to develop a mobile learning form of MolBEST and to describe the feasibility (validity, effectiveness, and practicality) of mobile learning. This study uses a developmental design of the Hannafin & Peck model using material and media validation instruments, pretest posttest, and assisted learning implementation observation sheets MolBEST. Based on the analysis of research data, the percentage of MolBEST on the elasticity material from two expert lecturers is classified as very valid with a percentage of 95%. As for the effectiveness, there was an increase in students' scientific literacy skills with an N-gain of 0.64 having moderate criteria and 91% of student responses having very good criteria. The level of practicality in learning is 84% and is categorized as very good. Referring to the results of the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of using MolBEST in learning, it can be concluded that MolBEST is suitable for physics learning. Mobile learning helps increase motivation to learn, understand the material and learn independently easily anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the feasibility of the e-Module Based on Science Literacy (e-MLIST) in the Basic Physics course on the topic motion kinematics. The eMLIST media could be the answer to the paradigm shift in the world of education during COVID-19. This study applied research and development with the Decide, Design, Develop, and Evaluate (DDDE) model to create the electronic modules. The e-MLIST has several advantages, such as the Module being electronic-based, which offers flexible utility. It means eMILST can be used whenever and wherever it is located. The e-MILST could be used to train students' scientific literacy skills in Basic Physics One lecture on motion kinematics. In this case, e- MILST will be used as a source of learning and teaching materials in the Basic Physics One course, whether offline, online or hybrid. The analysis results show that the e-MLIST is very valid, with 91.69% validity, The practicality of using e-MLIST in basic physics lectures 1 motion kinematics material is 87.13% with excellent criteria and The effectiveness of the use of e-MLIST in basic physics lectures 1 motion kinematics material is seen from the improvement of students' science literacy skills by n-gain 0.57 with moderate criteria. This means that eMILST is worthy of being used as a learning media in basic physics lectures 1 topic of motion kinematics. Keywords: e-module, science literacy, physics learning. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1572-1582
