Abstract

This research aims to enhance the quality of coffee bean roasting in Indonesia by designing an automated control-based roasting machine. The machine serves as a solution to the constraints of traditional roasting processes, particularly prevalent in rural areas. In the context of Indonesia's substantial coffee production, being one of the world's largest producers, the coffee bean roasting machine is anticipated to improve efficiency and consistency in the final product. The research methodology employs a design approach, utilizing tools such as lathes, grinders, and welding machines. Materials include a power window motor, hollow iron, angle iron, and other components. The design process comprises several stages, including the construction of the machine frame, agitator design, and the implementation of an automatic control system. Machine testing results indicate roasting levels within standard parameters for light, medium, and dark roasts. The temperature-time comparison graph illustrates consistent temperature changes throughout the roasting process. In conclusion, the coffee bean roasting machine exhibits significant potential to enhance the quality and efficiency of coffee roasting in Indonesia. By incorporating post-harvest technology, it is expected to contribute significantly to increasing the value of agricultural commodities and the overall economic well-being of communities

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the socio-economic conditions of mustahik in Karang Pule sub-district, Sekarbela sub-district. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation, while the data validity method used was the triangulation method. The results of this research are that the socio-economic conditions of mustahik in Karang Pule sub-district, Sekarbela sub-district can be seen from their level of education, type of work and income. The average mustahik's education in Karang Pule sub-district is at elementary school level, so it affects their work because many mustahik don't have a diploma, which is an obstacle to working. His job is impossible in Karang Pule sub-district only as a vegetable trader, laborer and other low-level jobs. However, with zakat and assistance from Baitul Askhiya, his family's economy could slowly recover.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using video media in enhancing the listening skills (maharah al-istima') of eighth-grade students at MTs Al-Amanah Waikaya. The specific objectives are to 1) assess the students' listening skills before the implementation of video media, 2) measure the students' listening skills after the use of video media, and 3) determine whether there is a significant improvement in listening skills following the use of video media. The research employs a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, using pre-test and post-test methods with a sample of 23 students. Data analysis was performed using inferential statistical tests via SPSS 26. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' listening skills after the application of video media, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), confirming the research hypothesis. The implications of these findings suggest that video media can be an innovative and effective tool for teaching Arabic language skills. Recommendations include the routine integration of video media into the curriculum and training for educators to further enhance students' listening skills.

Abstract

The study focuses on producing cushioning packaging material from bamboo fibers. The effects of varying the surface treatment duration and the proportions of foaming agents, adhesives, plasticizers, cross-linking agents, and other components were analyzed in terms of foam density, foaming rate, elasticity, and bubble size. The optimal reagents and the ideal ratios for the different components were identified. The parameters for the foaming process were determined based on a high-efficiency, eco-friendly foaming mechanism. Impact testing was conducted to obtain curves for maximum acceleration versus static stress, dynamic stress versus strain, and dynamic buffering factor versus stress. The study examined the dynamic buffering performance as a function of drop height and compared it to other cushioning materials. The findings indicate that at a height of 450 mm, the bamboo pulp product exhibited a lower peak acceleration value than EPE and EPS in the stress range of 2.8-5.4 kPa, indicating superior cushioning performance under these conditions.

Abstract

Environmental conscious technology, or green technology, has become a significant focus for countries worldwide. The development of environmentally friendly materials is a top priority, and it is a major concern for researchers who continue to conduct studies to support the advancement of green technology. Research on the Hibiscus tiliaceus tree bark fiber (known as 'waru' in Indonesian) has become relevant in this context. These fibers have undergone treatment with NaOH and turmeric and are utilized as reinforcements in composites or combined with epoxy resin. This study aims to empirically assess their mechanical properties and is expected to provide valuable insights into the application of green and environmentally friendly technology. The objective of this research is to identify the effects of various treatments. These treatments include immersing the fibers in a NaOH 5% solution for 2 hours, heating the turmeric in a 20% solution to a temperature of 70-80°C, followed by a 2-hour incubation, as well as immersing the fibers in a NaOH 5% solution for 2 hours, followed by heating the turmeric in a 20% solution to 70-80°C for another 2-hour period, with respect to the bending strength of the waru tree bark fiber composites. Impact testing is conducted using ASTM 256, and the results show that the best impact energy, with the highest fracture energy, is achieved with the specimen that underwent the NaOH 5% solution treatment for 2 hours, reaching 2.142 Joules. The best impact strength was observed in specimens without any treatment, with a value of 1.529 Joule/mm².

Abstract

Employment opportunities are a crucial indicator in assessing the stability and economic growth of a region. This study aims to analyze the influence of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), investment, regional minimum wage, and regional government capital expenditure on employment opportunities in West Lombok Regency during the period 2009–2023. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed to examine the relationships among variables using secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and relevant institutions. The results indicate that GRDP and investment have a positive and significant effect on the increase in employment opportunities. The growth of GRDP reflects higher production capacity, while investment, both in the form of Domestic Investment (PMDN) and Foreign Investment (PMA), acts as a catalyst for the creation of new jobs. The increase in the minimum wage has a limited impact, suggesting the need to balance labor interests with business capabilities. Meanwhile, regional government capital expenditure allocated for infrastructure and public facilities has been proven to support both direct and indirect job creation. These findings underscore the importance of synergy between fiscal policy, investment, and strengthening the real economic sector in expanding inclusive employment access. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the formulation of regional economic development policies oriented towards enhancing community welfare through the provision of sustainable employment opportunities.

Abstract

The implementation of the right to restitution for victims of environmental crimes in Indonesia has shifted to bureaucratic compensation, which weakens the polluter pays principle related to social accountability for impacts. This research aims to clarify how regulation and law enforcement relate to the right of victims of environmental crimes to restitution, utilizing the concept of restorative justice grounded in social ecology. This research is normative, employing a comparative study approach with Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and China to draft ideal recommendations for the implementation of the right to restitution. This research shows, first, that although Law No. 32/2009, Government Regulation No. 22/2021, and Supreme Court Regulation No. 1/2022 affirm the right to a healthy environment and the obligation to provide restitution, the mechanism for victims of environmental crimes is not yet clear, necessitating legal strengthening for adequate restoration. Second, a comparison of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and China shows that Indonesia needs to emphasize restitution mechanisms for victims of environmental crimes through clear regulations oriented towards socio-ecological restoration. Third, the right to restitution for victims of environmental crimes in Indonesia, which is guaranteed by the Constitution and the Human Rights Law, is still weak in implementation, so it is necessary to strengthen the polluter pays principle, differentiate between restitution and compensation, and adopt comparative practices from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and China so that socio-ecological restoration is more effective
