Abstract

Slumbung merupakan salah satu desa di Kabupaten Blitar yang sebagian besar masyarakatnya memiliki profesi sebagai peternak sapi, sehingga dari sekian banyak sapi yang dipelihara mengakibatkan penumpukan limbah kotoran sapi. Apabila limbah kotoran sapi tidak ditangani akan berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan sekitar, sehingga diperlukan upaya untuk pengolahan limbah kotoran sapi untuk mencegah pencemaran lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertajuk pemrosesan limbah kotoran ternak sapi menjadi pupuk organik ramah lingkungan di Desa Slumbung, Kecamatan Gandusari, Kabupaten Blitar telah dilaksanakan oleh tim dari Departemen Fisika, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. Proses fermentasi selama 2 minggu dilakukan dengan mencampurkan kotoran ternak sapi, EM4 (Effective Microorganism 4), molase (tetes tebu), dan trico G. Dari proses fermentasi didapatkan pupuk organik yang tidak basah dan tidak berbau. Pupuk organik yang telah dihasilkan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan pertanian dan dapat dijadikan produk lokal desa yang tentunya sangat berdampak positif pada masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitar lokasi.

Abstract

In this community services, cottoni seaweed processed products have been developed which are widely obtained in mangrove forest areas, mangroves, Rungkut Surabaya. Moreover, the production capacity has been increased so that production per day can increase significantly, i.e, to the double if using the equipment provided in this activity. Furthermore, the production process will also be accelerated so that not only the quantity of products per day is improved, but also the production time can be accelerated and the production process will be much more efficient. With the existence of this community services, it has also succeeded in increasing the diversification of processed products made from local raw materials efficiently and with a large production capacity. It has been produced that the production capacity is doubled per day if using the mixer equipment provided by the service team. Furthermore, by using a spinner that is also provided by the community services team, quality improvement is attained by slicing oil for processed fried foods.

Abstract

The measurement of pH is very important in the medical, industrial and research worlds and each requires measuring instruments with different sensitivities.Measuring the pH of a solution in principle measures hydrogen ions in a solution.In this research, a pH sensor was designed and fabricated using multimode fiber optic macrobending with the fiber optic cladding being peeled off and replaced with a PAni-PVA (polyaniline-polyvinyl alcohol) composite layer.The bending diameter of plastic fiber optics is varied with sizes d = 2.5 cm, d = 2 cm, and d = 1.5 cm.The test results show that the pH sensor created is capable of measuring the pH of the solution linearly in the range pH = 2 to 10 <w:LsdException Locked="false" Pri

Abstract

Pangarengan merupakan salah satu kecamatan di Kabupaten Sampang yang masyarakatnya banyak berprofesi sebagai petani garam, sehingga banyak produk garam yang dihasilkan di wilayah ini. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertajuk studi komposisi unsur garam tambak di Kecamatan Pangarengan, Sampang, Madura telah dilaksanakan oleh tim dari Departemen Fisika Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. Pengujian X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) dilakukan untuk mengetahui unsur yang terkandung dalam garam tambak dan dari hasil ini dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui kualitas dan potensi yang bisa dikembangkan terutama dalam hal riset. Dari hasil XRF didapatkan informasi bahwa beberapa unsur seperti sodium (Na), chlorine (Cl), calcium (Ca), zirconium (Zr),  neodymium (Nd), aluminium (Al), phosphorus (P), copper (Cu), dan bromine (Br) merupakan kandungan unsur dalam sampel garam tambak Pangarengan yang diuji. Hasil ini serupa dengan beberapa studi kandungan garam tambak pada penelitian yang dilakukan di daerah lainnya. Unsur Na dan Cl yang cukup dominan pada garam tambak Pangarengan dapat dijadikan sebagai informasi awal ataupun acuan terkait kandungan garam tambak Pangarengan dan ke depannya dapat dipakai sebagai referensi untuk pengembangan serta pemanfaatan hasil alam dan mineral di Indonesia, misalnya sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan baterai ion sodium. Dari kegiatan ini, masyarakat petani garam di Kecamatan Pangarengan memiliki tambahan wawasan terkait potensi pemanfaatan garam. Menemukan potensi lain dari garam merupakan salah satu strategi untuk meningkatkan harga jual garam yang akan berdampak nantinya pada kesejahteraan petani garam.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat belajar Biologi dan Fisika di kalangan pelajar menjadi tantangan serius dalam dunia pendidikan. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut melalui pengembangan inovasi pembelajaran berbasis teknologi informasi. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang bertajuk "Pemanfaatan Aplikasi Teknologi Informasi dalam Eduwisata di Kawasan Kalurahan Sumbersari" ini mengintegrasikan aplikasi edukatif interaktif dengan program eduwisata yang berfokus pada energi berkelanjutan. Melalui pengembangan aplikasi edukatif interaktif dan program eduwisata yang terintegrasi, kami bertujuan untuk mengatasi rendahnya minat belajar Biologi dan Fisika di kalangan pelajar. Aplikasi ini dirancang untuk menyajikan konten pembelajaran yang relevan, menarik, dan eksperimental, khususnya terkait konsep-konsep Biologi dan Fisika yang berkaitan dengan energi terbarukan, seperti Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS). Dengan menggabungkan kunjungan lapangan, simulasi, dan workshop, program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, keterampilan berpikir kritis, serta minat belajar siswa. Hasil yang diharapkan dari program ini adalah peningkatan minat belajar dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi Biologi dan Fisika, serta keterlibatan aktif dalam aksi iklim melalui pemanfaatan energi terbarukan. Selain itu, program ini juga berkontribusi pada pencapaian tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan, khususnya dalam hal pendidikan berkualitas pada tujuan 4 dan aksi iklim nomor 13. Keberlanjutan program ini akan dijaga melalui kolaborasi berkelanjutan dengan berbagai pihak, termasuk pendidik di Desa Moyudan, dan masyarakat setempat, yang diharapkan dapat menjadikannya sebagai model pembelajaran yang inovatif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to increase the engagement and academic achievement of fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Benda Karangampel, Indramayu in mathematics by implementing the Talking Stick cooperative learning approach. After consulting with teachers, it was identified that the inadequate utilization of educational resources and the limited diversity in teaching techniques are contributing factors to the students' poor performance. Consequently, this has resulted in a lack of student participation during lessons, as evidenced by only 9% of students achieving a score above the passing mark (65) in the Mid-Semester Assessment (PTS). This research project involves Classroom Action Research (PTK), conducted over three phases: planning, execution, observation, and reflection. The findings indicate that the introduction of the Talking Stick method enhanced the efficiency of the learning process. Evaluations of the teaching process improved from 71% (good category) in the first cycle to 86% (very good category) in the third cycle. Student engagement levels also rose from 61% (active category) in the initial cycle to 83% (very active category) in the final cycle. Moreover, student achievements increased from 54% (19 pupils) in the beginning to 86% (30 pupils) by the end, surpassing the 80% threshold for success. Consequently, the application of the Talking Stick cooperative learning model has been shown to be effective in boosting student participation and results in mathematics education. This innovative approach could offer a unique and enjoyable educational experience for students.

Abstract

Kalurahan Sumbersari, a border village in Sleman Regency, possesses significant potential in natural resources, particularly in agriculture and fisheries. However, the village faces substantial challenges, including inadequate aeration systems for fishponds and irrigation difficulties for rice fields. This community service initiative aims to address these issues by implementing solar energy-based solutions. The activities involved the design of an optimized aeration system for fishponds, the strategic installation of water pumps to facilitate rice field irrigation, and the construction of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS). The adoption of solar energy not only aims to meet the electricity needs but also contributes to Indonesia's achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 7, which focuses on Affordable and Clean Energy. The success of this project hinged on the active participation of the local community. Socialization and training sessions were conducted to ensure understanding of the aeration systems, water pump operations, and PLTS maintenance. It is anticipated that the implementation of these activities will resolve the fish health issues and irrigation difficulties, thereby enhancing fish and agricultural production in Kalurahan Sumbersari. In addition to these direct benefits, the use of renewable energy is also expected to mitigate the negative environmental impacts associated with fossil fuel energy consumption.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse Charles Sanders Peirce's pragmatism in relation to meaningful learning, identify strategies for integrating this perspective into elementary school learning practices, and evaluate the improvement of student understanding through practical experiences informed by Peirce's perspective. The theoretical study examines Peirce's pragmatism as a philosophical foundation that emphasizes truth and knowledge acquired through practical and experimental experience, which aligns with meaningful learning that holistically connects subject matter with students' experiences. Deep learning is implemented to encourage in-depth analysis and critical application, while the integration of the two enables contextual and meaningful curriculum design within the context of the Independent Curriculum. The theoretical framework combines these elements to support the research objectives, providing a strong theoretical foundation for educational innovation and facilitating more effective and adaptive learning in support of national education reform.
