Abstract

Background: Personal mobile health applications, including the COVID-19 mobile app, offer various benefits for enhancing the effectiveness of health programs. Objective: This study aimed to investigate and compare the factors associated with the utilization of the Peduli Lindungi COVID-19 mobile application, employing the behavioral theory of the Health Belief Model (HBM). Methods: This cross-sectional survey study, conducted at the Department of Public Health in two universities in South Jakarta, Indonesia, involved 744 respondents. The independent variables were derived from the Health Belief Model (HBM), including components such as perceived vulnerability, severity, benefits, obstacles, and self-efficacy. The dependent variable was the use of the COVID-19 mobile application. Results: The majority of respondents, with an average age of 19.9 years, were female. Out of the total, 51.9% (386 individuals) used the PL application in the past seven days, albeit not on a daily basis, and 86.6% utilized the application to access public facilities. Non-users primarily cited a lack of necessity due to not having traveled in the last seven days. The variable of perceived usefulness was significantly associated with application use (p <0.001). Conclusion: There is a need for increased public education regarding the application's benefits. Furthermore, the safe entrance system feature of the app, utilized for accessing public spaces, could be consistently employed to monitor and prevent the transmission of infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

Treatment adherence is an important factor in controlling blood pressure in hypertensive sufferers, this is necessary to minimize the occurrence of complications. Cases of hypertension are one of the priority problems that occur at the Pakuhaji primary health care. However, it is not yet known the level of adherence to treatment of hypertension sufferers there. This study aims to determine the related factors with the level of adherence in undergoing treatment for hypertensive patients at Pakuhaji primary health care in 2023. This type of research is quantitative analytic with a cross-sectional study design. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique of 134 respondents. Data collection was carried out by interviewing using a questionnaire. The analysis used in this study is univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi Square Test. Bivariate test results show the variables age (Pvalue = 1.000), gender (Pvalue = 1.000), education level (Pvalue = 0.068), employment status (Pvalue = 0.336), income level (Pvalue = 0.047), family support (Pvalue = 0.355 ), the role of health workers (Pvalue = 0.287), health literacy (Pvalue = 0.047), and level of knowledge (Pvalue = 0.000). The research results found factors that were related to the level of compliance in undergoing treatment for hypertension sufferers at the Pakuhaji primary health care in 2023, namely income level, level of  knowledge, and health literacy.

Abstract

Ideation is a new way of thinking involving the diffusion of these ideas through social interaction in local, culturally homogeneous communities. Making decisions about behavior depends on ideation factors. This study aimed to determine ideation factors associated with long-acting contraceptive behavior among family planning (FP) clients in East and North Jakarta. The data was derived from the "My Choice District Mini-Survey" conducted in East and North Jakarta between November and December 2016. The sample involved 720 women from both districts using a multi-stage cluster sampling process. An ideation factor was constructed from knowledge, attitude, social support, and interpersonal discussion on "Long Acting and Reversible Contraception" (LARC). A logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the most dominant factors associated with long-acting contraceptive behavior. This study found that the number of family planning clients who used LARC was 223 (30%). Of the percentage of using LARC attributed to each ideational score, the highest was 47%, and the lowest was 11%. The knowledge of LARC that can be used for spacing was the strongest ideation variable with Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR) = 4.55 (95% CI = 3.13 -6.61; p-value =0.000); followed by limiting with AOR 3.46 (95% CI 1.61 - 7.45; p-value= 0.001). The study confirmed the correlation between ideation factors on LARC and its use. To increase the number of LARC users, we should improve the supply side program by increasing FP clients' knowledge about LARC and shifting attitudes on LARC into positives.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has chosen to implement large-scale social restrictions (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar/PSBB) to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Large-scale social restrictions is a government policy aimed at restricting the internal movement of people in a bid to reduce the spreading of SARS-CoV-2. This study aims at assessing the impact of large-scale social restriction measures on the incidence of COVID-19 cases in the four provinces of Indonesia. Time series analysis was used to describe the trends of COVID-19 case by using surveillance data from the Ministry of Health of Indonesia. Quasi- Poisson regression with an interaction model was used to estimate the incidence rate ratio (IRR). IRR was calculated to compare an incidence rate before and during PSBB implementation. The trend of COVID-19 cases in the provinces of West Java, East Java, Banten, and Jakarta continued to fluctuate. These four provinces continue to experience a significant increase in COVID-19 incidence rate ratio after the first and second PSBB period implementation compared to the time of before PSBB implementation. Lack of proper implementation of the large-scale social restriction led to the PSBB’s ineffectiveness in reducing the number of COVID19 cases in each of the provinces.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition that causes children under the age of five to be shorter than their peers. Despite its low prevalence, stunting remains a problem that requires further attention and handling. This study aims to determine the factors associated with stunting in toddlers at the Grogol Selatan Village Health Center in 2024. The research design is case control. The case population in this study were toddlers in the Grogol Selatan Urban Health Center Working Area who were stunted while the control population were toddlers who were not stunted. With the total sampling technique, all 27 respondents were selected as cases. While 27 respondents were selected with fixed disease sampling technique as controls. Data were collected by researchers through interviews using a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding history (0.014), eating patterns (0.028), maternal nutrition knowledge (0.029), and environmental sanitation (0.026) with the incidence of stunting. Based on the results of this study, education to mothers about stunting prevention is needed
