Abstract

Human resources in a company is a valuable asset that needs attention to achieve maximum performance so that company goals are achieved. Satisfied employees will affect their performance. There is still a lack of research on the relationship between internal and external factors and job satisfaction and human resource performance, particularly regarding the current popular topic of work-life balance and what young employees want from their jobs. This study aims to determine the effect of Islamic leadership, Islamic work environment, Islamic work motivation, and work-life balance on employee satisfaction and performance at Islamic banks. This study used a quantitative approach with a sampling, namely simple random sampling. The number of samples in this study was 41 respondents. Data analysis techniques use SEM-PLS using SmartPLS to manage data. The results showed that Islamic leadership variables greatly influence employee job satisfaction, work environment variables, work-life balance, and work motivation have a small influence on job satisfaction. In contrast, job satisfaction variables have a large influence on employee performance. The findings of this study are anticipated to be an assessment of Islamic bank stakeholders' attention to their human resources to maximize job satisfaction and performance and hasten the achievement of the company's objectives. The construction of a supportive Islamic workplace environment and work-life balance are issues that require consideration to promote employee satisfaction and performance.

Abstract

Switching behavior is a marker of customer loyalty, particularly among Islamic bank customers. Therefore, a strategy is needed to reduce the rate of customer switching from an Islamic bank to other banks. This study aims to analyze the determinants of switching behavior in Indonesian Islamic banks, using customer satisfaction as a mediating variable. This study employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). This study successfully collected primary data from 265 customers of an Indonesian Islamic bank. The results of this study indicate that none of the antecedent variables directly influence switching behavior, but they do significantly influence customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction effectively mediates switching behavior, indicating that more satisfied customers are less likely to switch banks. The findings of this study indicate that Islamic bank customers act rationally by evaluating all antecedent variables before switching to another bank. This research theoretically contributes to the literature regarding the importance of customer satisfaction in explaining customer behavior. In practice, this research emphasizes the need for appropriate strategies to provide a positive experience of transacting with Islamic banks, thereby satisfying customers and minimizing switching behavior. Therefore, banks must maintain and improve customer satisfaction through optimizing competitive profit-sharing schemes, service strategies, sharia compliance, and technological innovation to increase customer loyalty and reduce switching behavior. This strategy is expected to strengthen Islamic banks’ long-term competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic financial literacy and the love of money on Muslims' personal financial management in East Java, both directly and through the mediation of financial self-efficacy. The study used a quantitative approach, employing a survey of Muslims from Generations Y and Z in East Java, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that Islamic financial literacy and love of money have a significant positive effect on personal financial management and financial self-efficacy. Financial self-efficacy was shown to have the strongest influence on personal financial management and acts as a partial mediator in the relationship between Islamic financial literacy and love of money with personal financial management. In conclusion, improving Muslim personal financial management requires not only strengthening Islamic financial literacy but also building financial self-confidence. Therefore, an effective Islamic financial literacy program needs to integrate cognitive and psychological aspects simultaneously.
