Abstract

Education is the spearhead of a nation's progress. To succeed in life, a person must have an education because skills will be born. It motivated the author and team to conduct community service activities, especially English training for foster children at the Special Child Development Institution (LPKA) Class II Pangkalpinang. So far, foster children have only received written material (theory) yet to be practised. In addition, the media for delivering the material still needs to support learning activities. Community service activities in English training are present for foster children at LPKA Class II Pangkalpinang so they can learn practical English. In addition, strengthening English skills can be their capital in the future. This training uses a direct practice method and collaborates with the English community. Meetings are held every week and continue once a month. The material taught is about everyday conversation. From several training meetings, students were very enthusiastic about learning practice. Some foster children have even been able to practice speaking in English, introducing themselves well without looking at the text. This training continues to this day. There is a significant change in the foster children's abilities because the author and team use technological tools to deliver. It becomes one of the determining factors for the foster children's learning success.

Abstract

Di era digital yang cepat, masyarakat Indonesia bertransisi dari konvensional ke masyarakat informasi, mengubah siklus budaya sehari-hari akibat informasi dari berbagai media. Dalam pendidikan dasar, anak-anak (siswa SD) kini kecanduan teknologi informasi, terutama bermain game di ponsel Android. Ini menjadi masalah di sekolah karena siswa lebih tertarik pada teknologi daripada metode pengajaran klasik. SDN 52 Pangkalpinang menghadapi tantangan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan teknologi guru agar dapat mengubah metode pengajaran menjadi lebih menarik berbasis teknologi, seperti multimedia pembelajaran. Setelah pelatihan dan workshop tentang konten edukasi digital, guru SDN 52 Pangkalpinang mampu mengaplikasikan pembelajaran ke dalam media berbasis teknologi. Peningkatan kemampuan dan pengetahuan guru dalam pembuatan konten edukasi digital mencapai 75%. Diharapkan konten digital ini membuat siswa lebih semangat dan tertarik menyimak informasi pengetahuan. Abstract. In this fast-paced digital era, Indonesian society is transitioning from conventional to information society, changing daily cultural cycles due to information from various media channels. In primary education, young children (elementary students) are now addicted to information technology, particularly playing games on Android phones. This issue in schools results in students being more interested in technology than classical teaching methods. SDN 52 Pangkalpinang faces the challenge of enhancing teachers' technology skills to transform teaching methods into more engaging technology-based approaches, such as multimedia learning. After training and workshops on digital educational content, teachers at SDN 52 Pangkalpinang can implement technology-based learning media. The increase in teachers' ability and knowledge in creating digital educational content is 75%. Digital content is expected to make students more enthusiastic and interested in the knowledge provided.

Abstract

The digital era demands that teachers possess ICT competencies and a high level of professionalism in designing and implementing learning activities that are relevant to the needs of the 21st century. The concept of smart teaching has emerged as one of the approaches to address these demands, through the use of technology and digital applications to create interactive, adaptive, and meaningful learning experiences. However, the education system in Indonesia still faces several challenges. Teachers’ digital literacy remains uneven, and many still rely on conventional teaching methods. As a result, the use of technology in learning has not been optimized, and teachers’ professionalism has yet to develop in line with the requirements of the digital era. Workshops on technology-based learning innovation can serve as a strategic solution to these issues. Through such workshops, teachers can gain practical skills in using learning applications and digital tools. In addition, workshops provide a platform for sharing experiences and building professional networks, thereby fostering collaborative innovation in teaching practices. This approach not only enhances digital literacy but also strengthens teachers’ pedagogical, social, and professional competencies in a sustainable manner. With a workshop design that is practical, contextual, and needs-oriented, smart teaching can be effectively realized. Improving teachers’ competence and professionalism through workshops is expected to enhance the quality of learning, reduce the gap in technology utilization in schools, and support Indonesia’s educational transformation toward an adaptive, inclusive, and globally competitive system

Abstract

Lomba Keterampilan Siswa merupakan salah satu tolak ukur dalam meningkatkan mutu Sumber Daya Manusia. Lomba tersebut dapat diikuti oleh siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Dalam kegiatan perlombaan, setiap siswa akan dibina atau didampingi oleh guru masing-masing. Pengabdian masyarakat kali ini dilakukan untuk memberikan pelatihan bagi guru-guru pembina/pendamping dalam penyampaian materi lomba kepada siswa-siswanya, khususnya di bidang IT Software. Peserta pengabdian ini adalah perwakilan guru dari SMKN 1 Koba. Pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan materi berupa presentasi, studi kasus sederhana, ataupun demo pembuatan program dan database secara langsung. Selain itu, untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman peserta, diberikan evaluasi di akhir sesi. Diharapkan setelah kegiatan pengabdian ini, para guru dapat membina siswanya dengan lebih baik sehingga dapat membawa nama baik sekolah ke tingkat nasional

Abstract

Indonesia should have a trusted institution to determine the beginning of the Hijri month. To date, the determination of the beginning of the Hijri month has not been standardized because each Islamic community organization has its own criteria. One of the criteria that will be discussed in this study is the 2016 Istanbul criteria which gave birth to the concept of a Unified Global Hijri Calendar. However, fulfilling these criteria method is still not agreed upon by experts, making it difficult to socialize to the public. This calendar has been used since 1447 AH/2025 AD. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of these criteria and also attempts to implement Jean Meeus' astronomical algorithms to obtain the necessary ephemeris data. During the research process, regional datasets will be prepared according to their respective topographical conditions. The data used include the name of the region, the name of the country, latitude, longitude, and altitude. From the preparation, information will be obtained in the form of regions that can represent the time of the beginning of the Hijri month.
