Abstract

Caricatures are used mainly to put forward constructive ideas on prevailing issues and to put forward humorous function. The types of speech act practiced are commisive, expressive, verdictive, assertive, directive, and performative. The dominating speech act found is directive. Based on the forms of speech act used, types of speech act practiced by the caricaturist are direct type of speech act. In the practice of cooperative principles, the caricaturist violates the maxims of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner. Politeness principles practiced by the caricaturist are tact, agreement, sympathy, and modesty maxims. Linguistic aspects utilized are phonological aspects, phrases, words, sentences, and discourse which coherence with the pictures.

Abstract

Abstrak ?é?á Kegiatan Ipteks bagi Masyarakat ini dilakukan beberapa tahapan. Tahap paling awal adalah pendekatan terhadap kedua mitra yaitu Mitra 1 yaitu Agawe Santoso di Desa Jimbung Kecamatan Kalikotes Kabupaten Klaten yang merupakan Usaha Pelayanan Jasa Alsintan yang belum maksimal dalam merawat dan menggunakan Rice Transplanter, sedangkan Mitra 2 yaitu PT YANMAR DIESEL INDONESIA yang berlokasi di Jl. Raya Solo ?óÔé¼ÔÇ£ Yogya Km. 27 Jambu Kulon, Ceper Klaten adalah sebuah pabrik yang membuat mesin-mesin mekanisasi pertanian khususnya Rice Transplanter. Tahap berikutnya adalah Team Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Teknik Mesin Universitas PGRI Semarang meninjau kelokasi Mitra 1 untuk menggali permasalahan yang lebih dalam serta pemecahannya. Akhirnya dicapai kesepakatan bahwa untuk Mitra 1 perlu pelatihan dalam perawatan serta opresional mesin Rice Transplanter. Karenamesin Rice Transplanter itu hasil produksi PT YANMAR DIESEL INDONESIA, maka dipandang perlu untuk digandeng sebagai mitra. ?é?á Kata kunci: Rice Transplanter, pelatihan/perawatan/operasional

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan beberapa tahapan  pendekatan. Tahap paling awal adalah pendekatan terhadap Mitra 1 dimana  kelompok ini adalah sebuah Lembaga Pendidikan yaitu SMK Nurul Barqi di desa Cepoko kecamatan Gunungpati Kota Semarang dengan Program Studi Mekatronika. Mitra 2 adalah CV. RETRO KREASI MACHINERY yang beralamat di Jl. Waru Timur I RT 007/RW 01 Griya Waru Permai No. 11 Kelurahan Pedalangan Kecamatan Banyumanik Kota Semarang. Tahap berikutnya adalah Team Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Teknik Mesin Universitas PGRI Semarang meninjau ke lokasi Mitra 1 untuk menggali lebih dalam permasalahan yang ada dan solusi pemecahannya. Akhirnya dicapai kesepakatan bahwa untuk Mitra 1 perlu pelatihan dalam perawatan serta opresional mesin CNC. Karena CV. RETRO KREASI MACHINERY memproduksi mesin CNC, maka dipandang perlu untuk  digandeng sebagai mitra 2. Dari kegiatan dihasilkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan mesin CNC sangat bermanfaat sekali. Pelatihan dilaksanakan selama 2 hari (persiapan dan pelaksanaan) dengan jumlah total 30 peserta.Secara keseluruhan pelatihan dikatakan sukses dengan indikator bahwa ketrampilan dalam mengoperasikan dan memelihara mesin CNC dari peserta bertambah. Kata kunci: Pelatihan Mesin CNC, Guru teknik mesin

Abstract

Motivation plays important role that drives learning. The application of games for educational purposes can boost students’ motivation. Nowadays, the game utilizes technology which enables students to experience enjoyment in a more accessible way. However, some games are not suitable for students. Hence, gamification, i.e., the implementation of game elements in a non-game context, serves as a solution to motivate students. This study aims to investigate the effect of gamification on students’ motivation in learning English. A game-based student response (GBSR) is an example of gamification. The case study method comprised an intrinsic and extrinsic motivation scale and a semi-structured interview to investigate the effect of gamification on students’ motivation in learning English. The study involved 13 eleventh grade students consisting of 10 females and 3 males students. The result indicated that the students experienced competence, autonomy, and relatedness in GBSR which led to stronger intrinsic learning motivation. Besides, the features in the GBSR triggered students’ interest to play the game. The extrinsic motivation stimulated through the reward structure and endorsement of goals. Moreover, the classroom atmosphere became more enjoyable for students. These results serve an alternative way for teachers to teach English at the secondary level.

Abstract

The development of ceramic design is one of product development efforts that purpose to improve the quality and quantity of ceramic products manufactured by Pann Craft in Wuryorejo Wonogiri. The product quality intended related to product visualization, while the products quantity related to the effectivness and efficiency production process. The design development was obtained by applying the method of interviews and observations that are implemented with training and mentoring approach to participatory-explorative. It was obtained by applying the techniques of printing and innovative finishing techniques, expected to answer the demands of Pann Craft in the development of ceramic products it produces. The development of ceramic products that has been done produce various products with a variety of themes, form, function and dimensions, and colors.Keywords: products, development, design, ceramics

Abstract

Surakarta is one of the cities in Central Java which is known as the city of batik and a tourist destination area which is supported by tourist attractions in the form of various historical sites that have integrated with the culture of the local community. The arrival of tourists to various tourist destinations in Surakarta in addition to enjoying existing tourist objects is also to get souvenirs that have local uniqueness. Apart from hunting batik for souvenirs, many also hunt for distinctive T-shirts, especially for young tourists, because they are inspired like traveling to Bali and Jogja. To provide a new alternative in the form of t-shirts with designs that have local uniqueness, it is planned to partner with CV. Asta Saka Semesta which produces t-shirts, convection, and merchandising. Service methods in the form of training and assistance in making innovative designs for tourist souvenirs; lectures to increase knowledge about survival strategies in business; expansion of marketing through participation in exhibitions; documentation of product samples and procurement of shelves for product documentation that has been produced. The results are 5 innovative designs, namely the design of a tourist attraction patterned t-shirt combined with classic batik motifs, as well as the production process for tourist souvenirs, 2 t-shirt designers have increased their knowledge and skills in making designs to meet the needs of tourists.

Abstract

This study is an autobiography of the author's experience as an English teacher teaching 12th graders digital multimodal composing (DMC). I have been teaching vocational high school students for seventeen years in one of Indonesia's vocational high schools. I am still looking for the best way to develop the writing skills of vocational high school students. I want to alter their perceptions of writing. It is essential to create a fun and meaningful writing process both inside and outside the classroom. Students born in the twenty-first century, the digital generation, and modern students. DMC as the textual practice entails using digital tools to generate text by combining various semiotic modes. Each mode is meaningful and serves a purpose. As a teacher, I can create any digital mode based on my students' needs and knowledge. This study used the narrative inquiry method to explore and reflect on the story of the teacher.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of soil conditioner of residue of rice husk biochar and cow manure, which was applied one year before this research conducted, on total N content in the soil and N uptake by maize (Zea mays L.). The research was carriet out at the Socah Horticultural Garden, Bangkalan Regency, East Java, which is located at 5-meter above sea level, from November 2020 to March 2021. The experiment was arranged on a completed randomized block design (CRBD), consisting of six treatments, namely P0 (control, without biochar or cow manure), P1 (10 ton biochar/ha), P2 (7.5 ton biochar/ha and 2.5 ton cow manure/ha), P3 (5 ton biochar/ha and 5 ton cow manure/ha), P4 (2.5 ton biochar/ha and 7.5 ton cow manure/ha), P5 (10 ton cow manure/ha). The results showed that Rice husk biochar residue and cow manure had a significant effect on total N in P4, organic carbon in P5, and CEC in P3 but that not significantly different with P2 and P4. While treatments that significantly affect N in plant tissues and N uptake by corn plants are P4.

Abstract

Various activities especially in fulfillment daily needs, generate a lot of waste. One of the negative effects of waste generation is the contribution of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere which causes global warming. Every location has waste, both organic and non-organic, or other types. The open space in Bendan Dhuwur campus area is dominated by organic waste due to leaf fall from many trees around. This is a concern because there is no proper waste management and it is immediately burned. This study focuses on analyzing the composition of waste and calculating the contribution of CO2 emissions from domestic waste generation at Bendan dhuwur campus of UPGRIS Semarang. The method used is random sampling accompanied by quantitative descriptive measurements and analysis. The result of the research shows that the calculation of waste composition for leaf waste is 3.58 x 10-3 Gg/year; twig waste 3.6 x 10-4 Gg/year; paper waste 3.57 x 10-4 Gg/year; plastic waste 2.02 x 10-4 Gg/year and CO2 emissions = 2.12 x 10-3 Gg/year; CH4= 2.57 x 10-5 Gg/year (leaves), CO2 = 2.18 x 10-4 Gg/year; CH4=2.58 x 10-6 Gg/year (twig), CO2 = 1.53 x 10-4 Gg/year; CH4= 2.56 x 10-6 Gg/year (paper), CO2 = 0.02 Gg/year; CH4= 1.45 x 10-6 Gg/year (plastic) Keywords: waste, CO2, CH4

Abstract

Sistem Informasi Manajemen (SIM) adalah teknologi yang digunakan untuk mendukung proses manajerial dalam organisasi. Penelitian ini membahas implementasi SIM di PT Nusantara Manufaktur, sebuah perusahaan manufaktur menengah yang mengalami peningkatan efisiensi operasional dan pengambilan keputusan yang lebih baik setelah mengadopsi SIM. Studi kasus ini memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang proses implementasi, tantangan yang dihadapi, dan manfaat yang diperoleh.
