Abstract

This study deals with the relevance of Hassan Hanafi's anthropocentric theology ideas towards the re-actualization of Islamic thought in Indonesia. The impact of Hassan Hanafi's anthropocentric theological thinking in Indonesia is less significant or even has no influence on the development of Islamic thought in Indonesia. In this case the researcher sees several reasons why the concept of anthropocentric theology Hassan Hanafi lacks a significant impact on the development of Islamic thought in Indonesia. First, the development of the anthropocentric theological thinking of Hassan Hanafi is too elitist. Second, Indonesian Muslims are still comfortable with the classical Asy'ariyah concept of theology. Third, the majority of Indonesian Muslims are still allergic to philosophy. The relevance and influence of Hassan Hanafi's thoughts began to appear around the 1993s, when several Hassan Hanafi books such as the Islamic Left (al-Yasa> r al-Islami) and offers of reconstructing classical Islamic theology from theocentric to anthropocentricity began to be translated and discussed by Indonesian Islamic experts. It can be concluded that The spirit of Indonesian Islamic intellectuals in studying and discussing the thoughts of Hassan Hanafi was not only carried out by reformers of Islamic Thought who already popular, but also carried out by young Islamic intellectuals who had a high enthusiasm to reform Islam in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the root of the discourse of religious moderation in various religious traditions in Indonesia. As a multicultural country with diverse ethnicities, races, religions, and cultures, religious tolerance is significant for maintaining religious harmony. Recently, the Indonesian government is greatly promoting and mainstreaming religious moderation programs to prevent any political tension and conflicts among religious groups. The government’s idea of religious moderation is seen as not accommodating all of the religious beliefs held by the Indonesian people. In this regard, this article examines how the language of religious moderation has evolved in each of various Indonesia’s religious traditions. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, and Confucianism are the official religions recognized by the state. Using discourse analysis, this study concludes that all the established religions in Indonesia essentially share the same notion of religious moderation, yet it is articulated in different terms.

Abstract

Recently, the traditionalist ulama dayah has been questioned in Aceh. With the arrival of religious groups with a Wahhabi-Salafi pattern, Acehnese dayah ulama have lost their authority as agents or religious figures in Acehnese society. This study focuses on the authority of the dayah ulama and its role in contemporary Acehnese spiritual practice. This study aims to see the authority of the dayah ulama amid the development of Wahhabi-Salafi understanding in contemporary Aceh. By conducting interviews with the dayah ulama group, Wahhabi-Salafi groups, and related government institutions in the province of Aceh and using qualitative data analysis, the researcher found that the role of the dayah ulama was still strong in influencing the religious practice of contemporary Acehnese society as evidenced by the community's rejection of Salafist religious understanding. Fundamentalism developed in Aceh because it was not by understanding the dayah ulama, namely the doctrine of Ahlusunnah Waljamaah. In addition, there is support from the Aceh government for the religion of the dayah ulama, with evidence by the issuance of a circular regarding the obligation to worship according to the teachings and understanding of syafi'iyah in the province of Aceh.

Abstract

This article discusses God 's omniscience and interference in the theological and Islamic’s theological perspectives. Theodical problem that centered on causality and the administration of God since the days of Greece God presented as a defendant. Berger uses theodicy concept to give meaning to the suffering experienced by humans in the world, while simultaneously promising happiness "in the world there". In this connection religion is clearly a force of alienation. Crime and suffering as a privacy are always present in reality and life. While Islamic’s theological reject the theodetic concept, according to Muttahharri, that on the plains of phenomena there is no "real evil" or "true goodness", while on plain noumena there is only one essence, namely goodness, because the substance of evil is truly pure nothingness.

Abstract

The article explains of one verses from the verse of amtal, namely Ibrahim verse 18 which discusses the interpretation of the tafsir scholars who explain the action committed by infidels and the ashes that are dust by strong winds when the wind blowns. The related example is the dust which blown by the wind because the dust turns out to be nothing and you will not be able to do anything if you are faced with strong winds in the high wind season, surely the dust will fly everywhere chaotically and will not be able to return to original place. Besides that, the dust that is contained in the Qur’ān is flying dust, where the flying dust has a negative impact and unbenefit to human health and the environment. This fact provides a very broad discourse enrichment, that the wind can occur if one day there is air pressure in the horizontal direction, there will be a movement of air mass transfer from a place with high air pressure to a place with low air pressure. Dust particles are known as small numbers of particles that are lifted up by the force of wind stress. The value of the wind stress force in this event is expressed by the fluid or threshold. This threshold depends not only on the properties of the fluid, but also on the gravity and cohesive forces between the particles which oppose the lift force of the fluid
