Abstract

Kata Kunci: Al-Qur’an, Toleransi Beragama, Double Movement, Fazlur Rahman Abstract This research is motivated by the many problems of religious tolerance caused by interpreting the verses of the Qur'an partially without considering the socio-historical conditions of the verses and the context that occurred when the verses were revealed so that such interpretations can lead to unruly behavior. This article aims to interpret the verses in QS. al-Mumtahanah [60]: 8, QS. al-Hujurat [49]: 13, and QS. al-Kāfirūn [109]: 1-6 by using Fazlur Rahman's double movement method to find out the message of the Qur'an through the text and the socio-historical context about religious tolerance. In conducting this research, the author uses the science of interpretation approach and Fazlur Rahman's double movement method to analyze the meaning and significance of the verses and the specific and general meanings contained in QS. al-Mumtahanah [28]: 8, QS. al-Hujurat [26]: 13 and QS. al-Kāfirūn [30]: 1-6. The results of this study indicate that Islam provides ample room to make friends with non-Muslims who do not expel us from the country. As long as friendship does not damage the faith, the Qur'an also explains that differences are a sunnatullah that must be maintained properly. In QS. al-Mumtahanah [60]: 8, QS. al-Hujurat [49]: 13 and QS. al-Kāfirūn [109]: 1-6 There are moral values in religious tolerance, namely: Make friends with anyone, be fair to anyone, be mature in dealing with differences, and live an attitude of mutual respect and respect for all existing differences. Make differences a way to build unity. Keywords: The Qur'an, Religious Tolerance, Double Movement, Fazlur Rahman

Abstract

The implementation of Wasathiyah Islam in Aceh faces various challenges, particularly related to the implementation of Islamic law as positive law and the emergence of radical Islamic groups that complicate its implementation and threaten the unity of the ummah and the state. Wasathiyah Islam, as a moderate Islamic teaching that emphasizes balance, is expected to be a solution in reducing radicalization and creating harmony in religious life. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The data sources used consist of primary and secondary sources, with data analysis techniques that include description, formulation, and interpretation, as well as using thematic analysis techniques. At the end of the study, conclusions were drawn inductively. The results show that Dayah scholars implement several key strategies in formulating Wasathiyah Islam in Aceh, including a moderate approach to religious education and learning, the spread of Islam through da'wah media, interfaith and intercultural dialogue, and the preparation of fatwas supporting moderation. In addition, they also strengthen the values of local wisdom, apply a contextual approach to Islamic law, and empower the community. Dayah scholars are also responsive to contemporary issues developing in society. The idea of Wasathiyah Islam promoted by Dayah scholars in Aceh is an effort to maintain balance in the practice and understanding of religion, while still keeping up with the times.

Abstract

Recently, the traditionalist ulama dayah has been questioned in Aceh. With the arrival of religious groups with a Wahhabi-Salafi pattern, Acehnese dayah ulama have lost their authority as agents or religious figures in Acehnese society. This study focuses on the authority of the dayah ulama and its role in contemporary Acehnese spiritual practice. This study aims to see the authority of the dayah ulama amid the development of Wahhabi-Salafi understanding in contemporary Aceh. By conducting interviews with the dayah ulama group, Wahhabi-Salafi groups, and related government institutions in the province of Aceh and using qualitative data analysis, the researcher found that the role of the dayah ulama was still strong in influencing the religious practice of contemporary Acehnese society as evidenced by the community's rejection of Salafist religious understanding. Fundamentalism developed in Aceh because it was not by understanding the dayah ulama, namely the doctrine of Ahlusunnah Waljamaah. In addition, there is support from the Aceh government for the religion of the dayah ulama, with evidence by the issuance of a circular regarding the obligation to worship according to the teachings and understanding of syafi'iyah in the province of Aceh.

Abstract

This article discusses God 's omniscience and interference in the theological and Islamic's theological perspectives. Theodical problem that centered on causality and the administration of God since the days of Greece God presented as a defendant. Berger uses theodicy concept to give meaning to the suffering experienced by humans in the world, while simultaneously promising happiness "in the world there". In this connection religion is clearly a force of alienation. Crime and suffering as a privacy are always present in reality and life. While Islamic's theological reject the theodetic concept, according to Muttahharri, that on the plains of phenomena there is no "real evil" or "true goodness", while on plain noumena there is only one essence, namely goodness, because the substance of evil is truly pure nothingness.

Abstract

This paper explores the contestation between Puritanism and traditionalism in Muslim communities focused oncase studies on the East Coast of Aceh by groups in urban religious recitation. The article addressing to the subject so far concludes that fundamentalism and traditionalism are two theological forces that are constantly in conflict with each other. This paper seeks to demonstrate that while interactions between the two groups are affected by doctrinal disputes, the two culturesare fairly effective in managing diversity, such that disparities in religious beliefs do not result in group tension and mass abuse. The data used in this research were collected through participatory evaluation, in-depth interviews and literature studies. Finally, this paper shows that the Acehnese people's ability to care for tolerance, although it seems clear that the practical tolerance practiced by the people who are the subjects of this research has been redefined and contextualized in line with the situation of a community dominated by traditionalist Muslim groups.
