Abstract

Traditional arts education, such as Karawitan, plays an important role in building cultural identity and social skills among students amidst the forces of globalization. Karawitan, as traditional Indonesian music, teaches moral values such as togetherness, mutual cooperation, and collaboration, which support the formation of the younger generation's character. However, the integration of Karawitan into the education curriculum faces several challenges, including limited facilities, insufficient teacher competence, and the perception that traditional arts are less relevant to modern education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, examining 50 relevant sources, consisting of 30 journal articles, 10 books, and 10 research reports related to arts education and Karawitan. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify the benefits, challenges, and strategies for implementing Karawitan in education. The results indicate that Karawitan education can increase students' appreciation of local culture and provide an authentic learning experience. For Karawitan to be taught optimally, support from the government and related institutions is necessary, including the provision of resources, teacher training, and relevant teaching materials. The novelty of this study lies in its more comprehensive understanding of practical ways to integrate Karawitan into the education curriculum and highlights the educational values inherent in traditional arts. With proper integration, Karawitan can become an integral part of education, strengthening students' cultural identity and preparing them to face challenges in the globalized world.Keywords: arts education, karawitan, cultural identity, social skills, curriculum integration

Abstract

Pidato pasambahan merupakan salah satu materi pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Kajian Budaya Melayu. Pidato pasambahanadalah pembicaraan yang dilakukan secara tradisional pada acara pertemuan yang dilakukan dalam budaya masyarakat Minangkabau. Pidato Pasambahan diucapkan oleh seorang yang ditunjuk dalam keluarga, baik dari pihak keluarga sendiri, maupun dari pihak keluarga lain dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh kesepakatan atas tema masalah yang dibicarakan dalam pertemuan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat Minangkabau pada saat ini adalah sulitnya menemukan seseorang yang piawai atau bijak untuk menjadi seorang juru bicara untuk melakukan pidato pasambahan.Sementara kegiatan pertemuan secara tradisional dalam masyarakat Minangkabau semakin sering dilakukan dan tidak dapat dihindari. Maka perlu adanya solusi kongrit dan tepat, yaitu dengan melatih keterampilan pidato pasambahan kepada generasi muda. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk mempertahankan kontinuitas adat budaya Minangkabau. Target luaran yang diharapkan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah: jasa, yaitu peserta kegiatan memperoleh keterampilan mengucapkan pidato pasambahan sesuai dengan tata cara adat budaya Minangkabau. Metode pelaksanaan pelatihan adalah: ceramah, demonstrasi, diskusi, dan evaluasi.

Abstract

Aesthetically, the aim of this research is to reveal the musical taste and musical standards of tuo talempong in alignment talempong tradition “ mangkoan sound. By ontology and epistemology; form music talempong in life public Already Lots revealed by the researchers previously. However there are one component important that hasn't been touched by researchers, which is related to draft alignment talempong tradition in Luhak Nan Tigo Minangkabau. Principle base alignment talempong related with the musical taste and musical standards of the tuo (elders) of talempong in Luhak Nan Tigo Minangkabau. Based on qualitative research principles; The researcher becomes the main instrument in collecting research data,includinginitial study and problem analysis, primary data collection through participant observers “ ethnography, in-depth interviews “ free and structured, documentation, and data analysis.The analysis was carried out on musical taste and musical standards that were found in the field. Research results show that ' mangkoan the sound ' is A draft alignment talempong tradition in Luhak Nan Tigo Minangkabau. hrough musical sensitivity, tuo talempong in Luhak Nan Tigo Minangkabau created the concept of mangkoan sounds (tala - tuning system) to identify the high and low sounds of jantan-batino talempong.
