Abstract

This research aims to describe the level of ability of 32 students in class XII - MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Jatiwangi. The question instrument used in this research is 5 written test questions which refer to indicators of students' mathematical representation abilities. The data analysis technique used in this research is an interactive analysis technique which consists of three components, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that (1) The level of students' mathematical representation ability has an average score of 39.32 in the medium category. (2) Errors in solving statistics problems which include conceptual errors (wrong understanding of the meaning of the problem), principle errors (wrong conclusions in determining the final answer to the problem, wrong use of rules in mathematical formulas), and operational errors (wrong in using operations in mathematics such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication). students' mathematical representations, and students' errors in solving sequences and series problems based on indicators of students' mathematical representation abilities, in class XII - MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Jatiwangi. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subject of this research.

Abstract

Pengelolaan jurnal ilmiah merupakan bagian terpenting bagi pengelola dan institusi perguruan tinggi sebagai bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari tri dharma perguruan tinggi khususnya penelitian dan pengabdian. Melalui pengelolaan jurnal ilmiah yang baik pengelola dapat mempersiapkan jurnalnya untuk dapat diakreditasi melalui halaman Arjuna. Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada pengelola jurnal dalam mempersiapkan jurnal yang bisa terakreditasi. Metode pelatihan dilakukan tanya jawab dan diskusi, workshop dan pendampingan setelah kegiatan pelatihan selesai. Peserta kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah seluruh pengelolan jurnal di lingkungan Poltekkes Kemenkes Tasikmalaya. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan pada Bulan Mei 2024. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa pengelola jurnal memiliki pemahaman materi yang sudah baik mengenai pengelolaan jurnal ilmiah setelah mengikuti pelatihan ini dengan harapannya setiap jurnalnya dapat terakreditasi.

Abstract

The problem of the weakness of the learning process cannot only be completed in a short time. Therefore, it needs an ongoing activity in the development of teacher professionalism. One of them is through Lesson study activities. Lesson study is basically an activity carried out by the teacher in order to improve the learning process where the focus of attention is on student activities. Through lesson study, it is hoped that there will be a better learning process. The information from lesson study activities consists of planning (plan), implementation (do), reflection (see). All three can be carried out properly in a slklus so that the learning process can correct properly. In the plan the teacher plans to start from making lesson design, chapter design to the students' thinking trajectory. Careful planning will make it easier for teachers to carry out learning well. Planning is better to involve peers so there is input from peers about the content of the material. In the process of implementing strength there is an observation so that it is allowed to observe. bring the form of a camera or something else to record all student activities and learning processes. Reflection activities are activities that discuss the implementation of learning and are focused on student activities. Through development activities such as lesson study, it is expected to improve teacher professionalism

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan perbedaan setiap siswa dalam proses penerimaan informasi pelajaran yaitu gaya belajar. Fokus pada penelitian ini adalah menganalisis proses berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal pemecahan masalah berdasarakan gaya belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen pada penelitian adalah rubrik gaya belajar berdasarkan teori Fleming kemudian untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis didapatkan dari instrumen soal pemecahan masalah matematis berdasarkan pemecahan masalah polya. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya belajar visual memiliki kemampuan proses berpikir konseptual, siswa mampu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan masalah, melaksanakan pemecahan masalah dan memeriksa kembali jawaban dengan baik. Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori memiliki kemampuan yang sama dengan siswa dengan gaya belajar visual yaitu memiliki kemampuan proses berpikir konseptual dengan mampu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan masalah, melaksanakan pemecahan masalah dan memeriksa kembali jawaban dengan baik. Sementara siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah semi konseptual, siswa tersebut kurang mampu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan masalah, melaksanakan pemecahan masalah dan memeriksa kembali jawaban

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of mathematics teachers in designing effective assessments that align with learning objectives. The training was conducted in collaboration with the Subject Teachers' Working Group (MGMP) for Junior High School Mathematics in Majalengka Regency on May 21, 2025. The training materials covered an understanding of formative, summative, and diagnostic assessments, as well as practical exercises in constructing questions based on Bloom-Anderson’s taxonomy. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, group discussions, and assessment design simulations. Evaluation was carried out using pre-tests and post-tests with a semantic differential scale. The analysis results showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding of the concepts and importance of assessment in mathematics learning. Before the training, most participants were at a moderate skill level, while after the training, there was a shift toward a higher skill level. These findings indicate that the training effectively improved teachers’ competencies. This activity is expected to be the first step in strengthening teachers’ capacity to design assessments that support meaningful learning in the classroom.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see improvement of critical and creative thinking mathematic skills among students are learning to use asasmen performance in problem-based learning, with students who are learning using problem-based learning and student learning using conventional learning. This includes quasi-experimental study with mixed methods through Concurrent Embedded strategies. The study was conducted in SMP 6 Tasikmalaya, the subject are three samples of class VII. Instruments used include test questions critical and creative thinking skills of mathematics. Quantitative data analysis using ANOVA test one and two lines, followed by Scheffe test. In the qualitative analysis carried out on the attitude scale, and assessment of performance, and the results of the interview. The results showed that 1 ) there are differences in improvement of critical thinking skills of students receiving mathematical application of performance assessment in problem-based learning, 2 ) there differences in improvement of creative thinking ability of students receiving mathematical application of performance assessment in problem-based learning, 3) there is a relationship between critical thinking skills with the ability creative thinking, 4) positive student attitudes after implementation of performance assessment in problem-based learning

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of integrating ethnomathematics into primary school mathematics instruction on students’ mathematical communication skills. Motivated by the lack of contextualized learning environments that affirm students’ cultural identities and foster expressive competence, the research adopts a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control groups. Participants consisted of 60 fifth-grade students in West Java, Indonesia, divided into an experimental group taught through ethnomathematics-based learning and a control group taught with conventional methods. A validated mathematical communication test assessed students’ abilities to express ideas verbally, symbolically, and visually. Results show a statistically significant improvement in both groups; however, the experimental group demonstrated a considerably higher effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.97) than the control group (Cohen’s d = 1.25). Moreover, independent t-test results (t(58) = 6.851, p < .001) confirm that culturally contextualized instruction more effectively fosters communication-rich learning environments. The study highlights the importance of meaningful cultural contexts in enhancing mathematical communication and calls for broader adoption of ethnomathematics-based pedagogies. Limitations and recommendations for future research are also discussed.
