Abstract

Welfare is a measuring point for an individual who has achieved a prosperous condition, which is certainly the goal. A study on the contribution of the honey business to the welfare of honey entrepreneurs was carried out from March to April 2022 in Bandar Lampung City. The location selection was determined purposively with the consideration that the Bandar Lampung City was an area where there are many entrepreneurs who develop honey product businesses than in the other surrounding areas. This study aims to determine the contribution of honey business to the household income of honey entrepreneurs in Bandar Lampung City and to determine the level of welfare of honey entrepreneurs' households in Bandar Lampung City. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The analyzes used include income analysis, expenditure analysis and the level of welfare of honey entrepreneurs. The respondent determination method used in this research is snowball sampling. The results showed that the contribution of honey business income to the household income of honey entrepreneurs in Bandar Lampung City was still relatively low at 19%. This is because most entrepreneurs still make honey business as a side business. The level of household welfare of honey entrepreneurs in Bandar Lampung City is classified as a prosperous condition.

Abstract

Agrotourism is a tourism activities that utilize the potential of agriculture as a tourist attraction. Internal and external analysis and strategies for developing agro-tourism are expected to be able to increasde farmers income. Development is needed so that agrotourism can survive and have future strategies in dealing with the crisis during the covid19 pandemic. This research has purposes for 1). It analyzed the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the development of Belimbing Dewa Agrotourism, Pasir Putih Village, Depok City. 2). Analyzing the internal and external environment of Belimbing Dewa Agrotourism, Pasir Putih Village, Depok City. 3). analyze the developed Belimbing Dewa Agrotourism strategy, Pasir Putih Village, Depok City, during the covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted from December 20, 2021, to February 9, 2022, at Belimbing Dewa Agrotourism, Pasir Putih Village, Depok City. The study used survey methods and data collection methods by interview and observation. Respondents in this study were 30 people from agro-tourism visitors. The data analysis method used quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on Belimbing Dewa Agrotourism could be sawed from a decrease in visitor visits, a reduction in worker salaries and layoffs, and a decline in cooperatives. MSME income, external and internal environmental factors that influence the affordability of entrance tickets and product prices, and the lack of funds, the opening of opportunities for economic improvement for the surrounding community, the challenge factor that must be faced is the unstable economic factor due to the covid-19 pandemic, based on the analysis of the position matrix shows that Belimbing Dewa Agrotourism is in quadrant 2. Hence, the strategy that must be applied is a diversification strategy.

Abstract

Horticultural farmers in Tebing Tinggi make farming their main job, but working as a farmer does not guarantee welfare in Tebing Tinggi. Livelihood strategies are various activities or efforts undertaken by individuals or households to meet their life needs for survival. Livelihood strategies are grouped into single and mixed strategies. Livelihood strategies are divided into five: human capital, natural capital, financial capital, physical capital, and social capital. Research locations were purposive in Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra Province. This study aimed to analyze the impact of the absence of collectors analyzing human capital, natural capital, financial capital, physical capital, and social capital of farmers and the livelihood strategies of horticultural farmers. This study's informants comprised 15 people, and ten informants tended to adopt a mixed livelihood strategy. The method used is a survey with a qualitative descriptive nature. The method of determining informants using snowball sampling. The study's results show that the impact of the absence of collectors for horticultural farmers is that their income decreases because they are now forced to limit the amount of harvest. A total of 10 informants implemented a mixed livelihood strategy, and five others implemented a single livelihood strategy. Owned capital consists of 5, namely human capital consisting of education level and labor allocation, physical capital consisting of houses and vehicles, natural capital consisting of agricultural land and livestock, financial capital consisting of savings and loans, and capital social services consisting of farmer groups and government agencies.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat dilakukan untuk menciptakan individu yang mandiri dalam diri masyarakat, meningkatkan etos kerja masyarakat menjadi lebih baik, menumbuhkan kesadaran diri masyarakat dalam mengenal dan memanfaatkan potensi yang dimiliki oleh lingkungan sekitar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan dan dampak dari program pemberdayaan yang dilakukan pada Kelompok Tani Jambu Kristal di Kelurahan Wates, Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan pendekatan deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel 90 orang dimana pengambilan datanya menggunakan metode wawancara dan pengamatan secara langsung serta analisis data menggunakan model interaktif yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa proses pelaksanaan program diawali dengan metode Participatory Rural Appraisal yang dilakukan bersama dengan masyarakat, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan sosialisasi dengan masyarakat yang aktif dan parsitipatif memahami penyampaian materi dan menanyakan beberapa pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan kondisi di lapang, dan tahapan yang terakhir yaitu pendampingan serta pelatihan beberapa kegiatan yang merupakan perealisasian program dari hasil diskusi dan sosialisasi. Dampak yang terjadi dari program pemberdayaan masyarakat di Kelurahan Wates ini terdiri dari dampak ekonomi, kerukunan sosial, dan perilaku yang berubah setelah keberjalanan program pemberdayaan yang dilakukan.

Abstract

The 5th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) focuses on gender issues, including women's roles in politics and the economy. In the financial sector, women contribute to agriculture, but gender inequalities persist, requiring gender-oriented empowerment programs to address disparities in the potato sub-sector. This research analyzes the role of Tengger Tribe women farmers using Gender Framework Analysis (GFA) and formulates strategies for their empowerment. The study was conducted in the Tengger Tribe community, Sukapura Village, Probolinggo Regency, using a census method with 78 women rice farmers as respondents. Data collection involved observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires. The first objective was analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods, the second through gender analysis to assess workloads in potato production, followed by social capital analysis and SWOT analysis. The strategy results include (1) establishing a women farmers' group in Sukapura Village with stakeholder facilitation, (2) training and assistance in food crop cultivation suited to local conditions, and (3) organizing a women's farming school to enhance farmers' knowledge. Policy implications for this empowerment strategy should consider various aspects, including beneficial innovations for women farmers in Sukapura Village and mechanisms for implementing and financing empowerment initiatives.

Abstract

Tourism villages can develop if the community supports them. To accomplish a goal, a community that is part of the institution must be able to perform its duties and functions as a unitary institution. The institutions have to communicate with one another and work together to develop Lerep Tourism Village. This research will outline the roles of each institution and examine this synergism. Based on the institutions participating in the management of the Lerep Tourism Village, the location was chosen using a purposive sampling strategy. This is a qualitative approach with case study research. Purposive sampling was used to select 26 informants to interview, covering head of village and hamlets, leaders and members of institutions, representative of communities from 4 hamlets. In-depth interviews, observation, and documentation were utilized to obtain the data, and evaluated using Miles Huberman’s flow model. The data’s veracity was examined using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results show that each institution namely Government Institution, Economic Institution, Art and Cultural Institution, Agricultural Institution, and Environmental Institution plays different roles. There are varieties of purposes in institutional synergy. However, institutions have implemented elements of effective communication and coordination. Such synergies lead to the establishment of new tourist attractions and facilities, increase in the number and satisfaction of visitors, job opening and increase in community income, moreover receiving recognition and passing the certification process. There needs to be discussions and follow-up process regarding improving the internal conditions of institutions and communities between hamlets.

Abstract

Coffee was one of the commodities cultivated in Cilengkrang District, Bandung Regency. Each farmer had his own preferences in choosing coffee market related to obtaining information access and his motives. This study aimed to analyze and describe farmers' information access to coffee market and farmers' motives in market selection. This research was conducted from January - March 2023 at Giri Senang Farmers Group, Cilengkrang District, Bandung Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with Miles and Huberman analysis. There were 15 informants selected by purposive sampling technique that the key informant was the head of Giri Senang cooperative and the main informants were coffee farmers who had access to market information and chose their own market. Primary data was obtained through interviews and observations regarding information access and market selection. Secondary data was obtained from farmer groups, journals and literature related to information access and market selection. The data obtained were analyzed using Miles and Huberman analysis to describe information access and farmers' motives in selecting markets. The results showed that access to coffee market information can be obtained through electronic media such as Instagram, Facebook, or websites as well as through direct information, such as between farmers and shop visitors and fellow farmers. Coffee farmers' motives for choosing markets are as a form of adaptation to online sales and opportunities for wider marketing. The advice given is to maximize the use of social media, expand the target market, increase coordination and supervision in selling products to consumers.

Abstract

Media massa berperan penting dalam menyebarkan informasi. Perbaikan dan pembangunan masyarakat dipengaruhi oleh keberhasilan penerimaan informasi yang diinduksikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan isi berita pertanian yang bersumber dari perguruan tinggi dan non perguruan tinggi ditinjau dari jumlah item berita, frekuensi berita, volume berita, topik berita, bentuk berita dan posisi berita. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan November 2021 — Februari 2022. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode analisis isi kuantitatif. Objek penelitian berupa media cetak majalah Trubus dengan sampel dipilih secara purposive yakni Majalah Trubus edisi April 2020 — Maret 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah item berita dari perguruan tinggi sebanyak 126 artikel sedangkan sumber non perguruan tinggi sebanyak 542 artikel. Sumber perguruan tinggi yang paling banyak muncul berasal dari dosen sedangkan sumber non perguruan tinggi berasal dari perusahaan swasta. Volume berita yang bersumber dari perguruan tinggi seluas 76.165 cmK sedangkan dari non perguruan tinggi seluas 415.836,29 cmK. Topik yang bersumber dari perguruan tinggi didomminasi berita lain-lain, teknologi inovasi dan hama penyakit sedangkan topik non perguruan tinggi didominasi berita lain-lain, dan pemasaran. Bentuk berita dari perguruan tinggi didominasi interpretative news sedangkan non perguruan tinggi didominasi opinion news. Letak berita dari perguruan tinggi didominasi posisi fullpage dan atas, sedangkan non perguruan tinggi di posisi fullpage dan tengah. Terdapat perbedaan isi berita pertanian antara perguruan tinggi dan non perguruan tinggi berdasarkan pengkategorian jumlah item, frekuensi, volume, topik, bentuk maupun posisi.

Abstract

Organizing that involves the community is one of the factors that can determine the success of implementing tourism village activities. One of the tourism village managers whose organization involves the community is the Arumsari Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in the Pandansari Tourism Village. To achieve the success of Pokdarwis Arumsari, it is necessary to have effective interpersonal communication between members, so, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of interpersonal communication and its influence on the success of Pokdarwis Arumsari. The research location was conducted in Pandansari Village, Batang Regency, Central Java. The research method uses the case study method on all members of Pokdarwis Arumsari totaling 37 people as the respondents. Data collection techniques are closed interviews, observation, and literacy studies.  Then analyzed by using Partial Least Square (PLS). The effectiveness of interpersonal communication and the success of Pokdarwis Arumsari are included in the high category with a percentage score of 81.2% and 79.2%, respectively.  The value of the path coefficient is 0.859, the direction of the relationship between the effectiveness of interpersonal communication on the success of Pokdarwis Arumsari is positive, there is an effort to increase the effectiveness of interpersonal communication within the group, the success of Pokdarwis will increase. The results of the analysis show that the effectiveness of interpersonal communication can explain 73.9% of the success of Pokdarwis Arumsari. Pokdarwis Arumsari has a good and positive effect on interpersonal communication effectiveness so that success is realized in achieving the goals of Pokdarwis Arumsari.

Abstract

Persepsi merupakan sebuah proses pemberian arti oleh individu terhadap lingkungannya, dimana setiap individu dapat memberikan arti yang berbeda terhadap lingkungannya meskipun objeknya sama. Persepsi yang berbeda dari setiap individu petani dapat membentuk minat petani untuk aktif tergabung dalam sebuah kelompok, sekaligus pada akhirnya akan mempengaruhi eksistensi dari kelompok itu sendiri. Adanya perbedaan eksistensi pada Poktan dan Gapoktan Desa Bedono dapat disebabkan oleh adanya perbedaan persepsi anggota terhadap keduanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi petani terhadap eksistensi Poktan dan Gapoktan, serta menganalisis perbedaan persepsi terhadap keduanya. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari – Maret 2022 di Poktan dan Gapoktan Desa Bedono, Kecamatan Jambu, Kabupaten Semarang. Metode non probability sampling (kuota sampling) digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan total sampel 94 orang. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode perhitungan interval skor dan uji paired sample t-test. Metode perhitungan interval skor digunakan untuk menganalisis persepsi petani terhadap eksistensi Poktan dan Gapoktan, sedangkan untuk menganalisis perbedaan persepsi petani terhadap keduanya dilakukan dengan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil analisis dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dilihat dari variabel sikap, motif, pengalaman, pengharapan dan eksistensi, persepsi petani terhadap eksistensi Poktan termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan persentase 83,4% dan persepsi petani terhadap eksistensi Gapoktantermasuk dalam kategori Sangat Tidak Baik dengan persentase 35,4%. Hal itu menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan persepsi yang signifikan diantara keduanya. Beberapa upaya seperti reorganisasi dan pengadaan kegiatan penguatan kelembagaan perlu dilakukan agar dapat terus menciptakan persepsi yang baik pada diri anggota, karena persepsi merupakan aspek penting untuk mempertahankan eksistensi dari sebuah kelompok.
