Abstract

Objective: This study aims to mention examples of code switching or code mixing for Arabic teachers in the Majma' Al-Lughah Al-'Arabiyyah Whatsapp group, explain the meaning of code switching or code mixing used, and mention the factors that encourage the use of code switching and code mixing.  Design/Methodology: This study uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive method. The researcher collected chat data from the Majma' Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah WhatsApp group related to code switching and code mixing, then performed data classification, analysis, and conclusion. Findings: Researchers found 22 code mixing, and 6 code switching. While the factors that cause the use of code mixing and code switching are seven, namely: (1) Arabic speaking habits, (2) speakers do not master Indonesian, (3) limited meaning, (4) as a form of respect, (5) use of more popular terms, (6) enhance a sense of humor, and (7) speech situations. The most dominant factor is the speaker's habit of speaking Arabic and the speaker is not fluent in Indonesian, and the least dominant factor is the factor of increasing prestige. Research Limitations/Implications: This research is limited to Arabic teachers at the Majma' Lughah Al-Arabiyyah institution, with a span of only two months. Even so, this research has been able to provide an overview of the use of code switching and code mixing in the Majma' Al-Lughah Al-Arabiyyah WhatsApp group as a whole.

Abstract

The accuracy of the output of the employee selection application for promotion is very important, because if something goes wrong it can harm the company. Employees who are selected and misplaced can cause lower performance of the employee concerned or other employees. To ensure that the resulting promotion application has met the requirements and is free from defects / errors, testing is necessary. In this study, it is proposed to do black box testing using the Equivalence Partition technique. Black Box testing is carried out based on the resulting input and output values regardless of the process or algorithm in the application. Meanwhile, the Equvalence Partition technique is done by dividing the input value domains into valid and invalid groups, then selecting and using one of the values from each of these groups. Testing the promotion selection application is carried out on 4 forms, namely the Add Criteria form, Edit Criteria, Add Alternatives, and Edit Alternatives. In this test, 8 test cases were made. The results of this test ensure the quality of the Promotion Promotion application is free from errors by finding an accidental error in the Promotion Promotion Selection application at PT Maju Makmur.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki dan memahami dampak dari pendekatan pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa MTSN 2 Mataram. Kemampuan berkomunikasi secara matematis mempunyai peran penting dalam matematika, Karena mampu memberikan landasan logis dalam menyelesaikan masalah, mengubah deskripsi menjadi bentuk model matematika, serta menggambarkan ide atau gagasan matematika melalui uraian yang sesuai dan bermakna. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan penelitian jenis quasi eksperimen desain posttest only control design. Instrumen yang dipakai peneliti yakni instrumen observasi kegiatan belajar dan soal tes. Lembar observasi pembelajaran digunakan sebagai alat untuk mengukur tingkat pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran discovery learning sesuai dengan alur dan urutan kegiatan belajar, sementara tes dilakukan untuk mengukur kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan cara memberikan sejumlah dua butir soal teorema phytagoras. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik inferensial dengan uji mann-whitney setelah melaksanakan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan belajar matematika dengan model discovery learning mempunyai kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode konvensional.

Abstract

International and national assessments, including PISA 2022, indicate that Indonesian students’ numeracy performance remains low. This situation highlights the need for instructional approaches that strengthen conceptual understanding and higher-order thinking. This study examined the effect of a deep-learning instructional approach on eighth-grade students’ numeracy skills, while considering mathematical disposition and gender. We employed a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design with 62 Grade 8 students from a public junior high school in West Lombok, Indonesia. The experimental group (n = 31) received deep-learning instruction through concept exploration, context-based discussion, collaborative problem solving, and guided reflection, while the control group (n = 31) received regular instruction. Instruments included a numeracy test and a mathematical disposition questionnaire that underwent expert validation and met reliability criteria. We analyzed the data using descriptive statistics and ANCOVA, controlling for baseline ability (pretest). The results showed higher numeracy scores in the experimental group across disposition categories. ANCOVA indicated significant main effects of instructional approach, gender, and mathematical disposition, whereas several interaction effects were not significant. These findings support the use of deep-learning instruction as a promising strategy to strengthen numeracy within the Merdeka Curriculum implementation.
