However, for women's personal lives, this is an undesirable function because it causes women's duties and responsibilities as wives and mothers to increase. (2) Environmental factors, the support of the women's entrepreneurial community is also a strength in women's entrepreneurship. This is certainly a manifest function for economic development in Sabang City. However, it is a latent function for the individual woman herself due to (3) Family Factors, women who are entrepreneurs are proven to be more productive, can also make the family prosperous and increase regional income (manifest function). Meanwhile, in terms of parenting, it becomes an obstacle due to dual roles. Thus, these three factors are a manifestation of a social system that is considered functional for a group, but this can also be non-functional for other groups.

Abstract

The tradition of swinging slaves is one of the intangible cultural heritages that is still preserved from generation to generation by the Melayu community in Dumai City, Riau Province. The practice of rocking a baby is not only limited to a physical act, but is also full of social and cultural meaning. However, along with social changes, solidarity in the Ayun Slave tradition has also undergone changes. By adopting Émile Durkheim's perspective, this research examines how factors such as urbanization, modernization and globalization influence the form and meaning of social solidarity in the Ayun Slave practice. This research was conducted through a descriptive qualitative approach. From the results of this research, it was found that the slave swinging tradition functions as a means of strengthening relationships between family members and society, and also as a medium for transferring cultural values from generation to generation. Slave swings also become a forum for people to share happiness and celebrate important moments in a child's life. Keywords: Social solidarity, Emile Durkheim, Ayun Budak.

Abstract

Simeulue has 10 marine tourism destinations that are prioritized for development. Unfortunately, no tourism awareness groups have been formed to help develop marine tourism, even though almost every village has marine tourism potential. This research aims to examine more deeply the conditions of collaboration between the government and other sectors in the Development of Environmentally Sound Marine Tourism in Simeulue Regency. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach and use Taxonomy analysisthing. The result of this research is that this collaboration is reflected in the formulation of the tourism development policy of Siemulue Regency in the Regional Tourism Development Master Plan (RIPPARKAB). However, there are obstacles in this collaboration, namely conflicts over the transfer of land from the community to the government to be developed, especially in the Pinang Island destination. Before the collaboration was established, there was potential and openness from the government to involve participation from other sectors. Then the collaboration process began with a face-to-face dialog that formed the commitment of each party. Furthermore, there was friction in the collaboration, namely the existence of the Pinang Island coastal land conflict, limited understanding and environmental preservation around Pinang Island marine tourism, then ended in the temporary result of collaboration, namely RIPPARKAB as a joint commitment in supporting the development of environmentally sound marine tourism.

Abstract

AbstractClimate change has become a global and urgent issue, particularly for traditional rice-farming communities that rely on rainfed paddy fields. This study aims to analyze farmers' knowledge and understanding in responding to climate change, with a focus on community-based or local wisdom. This research problem is substantial because farming communities have not yet fully adapted to climate change. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this study reveals how farmers interpret natural signs through traditional knowledge, implement sustainable farming practices, and maintain the Keujreun Blang customary institution as a social practice. Additionally, the practice of meuseuraya (mutual cooperation) and the role of customary institutions further strengthen the resilience of traditional farming communities in facing the impacts of climate change. The findings indicate that local knowledge or wisdom is not merely a cultural heritage but also an evolving adaptive practice in response to climate change. Therefore, integrating local knowledge with scientific approaches and government policies is a strategic step in building a more resilient and sustainable agricultural system amidst climate change in the farming communities of West Aceh.
