Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematical communication of grade IX students at Merangin 7 Public High School. This is due to the lack of active students in the learning process, students only listen to what the teacher explains without understanding it, so students have not been able to communicate mathematically. To overcome this, the researcher uses a problem solving approach. This study aims to determine whether the mathematical communication skills of class IX students of SMP N 7 Merangin in the 2015/2016 Academic Year taught by problem solving approaches are better than those taught by conventional learning. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The sample in this study was IXB as the experimental class and IXC class as the control class. Data collected using the technique of mathematical communication skills in the form of essay on congruence material. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is the t-test, because the data are normally distributed and have a homogeneous variance. From the data analysis, the experimental class obtained an average of 73,098, whereas in the control class the average is 59,524. . Hypothesis test results obtained, = 3.802 and = 1.864. Because> then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it was concluded that there was an effect of problem solving approach on mathematical communication skills of class IX students of SMP N 7 Merangin in the 2015/2016 school year .Keywords: Mathematical communication skills, problem solving approach

Abstract

The use of assessment as learning is still less utilized in learning in schools, while evaluation as learning can stimulate students to reflect on their learning and take an active part in learning improvement. Assessment as Learning with active feedback, not only makes the student able to reflect on learning, but assessment as learning with this active feedback also enables the student to formulate a strategy for improving their learning with guidance, motivation, and advice from the Teacher and peers. Many studies have applied Assessment to Learning in various levels and fields of science. Therefore, this study aims to study the impact of applying assessment as learning with active feedback on high school physics material. This study is an experimental study with a Pretest-Postest Control design. Referring to the research results of the application of Assessment as Learning with Active Feed can significantly improve student performance. This study implies that the findings of this research will contribute to existing knowledge. It is important to know the impact of Assessment as Learning with active feedback on student learning performance.

Abstract

Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) are a student's abilities that include logical and reasoning abilities, analysis, evaluation, and creation. This study aims to identify the development of instruments for assessing higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in Physics in high school. This review uses a qualitative approach by examining journals from 2016 to 2020. Based on the results of the analysis, show that one form of assessment developed is test questions with multiple choice, reasoned multiple choice, and description-type instruments. The test questions were developed to pay attention to HOTS, KKO indicators, physics, and stimulus problems, as well as Bloom's taxonomy. The materials that are widely developed are temperature and heat, harmonic vibrations, and static and dynamic fluids. The methods often used in this development research are the R&D method from Brog and Gall, the 4D method, the qualitative descriptive method, and the ADDIE method. The HOTS instrument is carried out through a feasibility test and analysis process, including through a validity test by a validator, reliability test, difficulty level test, differential power test, Rasch model analysis, analysis using Cronbach's Alpha formula, and question distractor test. Abstract

This service was carried out in Kungkai Village, Bangko District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The problem faced is that there is a fairly well-known batik industry center in Kungkai Village, which has not been able to improve the welfare of the people in Kungkai Village. The people of Kungkai Village generally do not know the types of Kungkai batik and also do not know the tools and methods for making batik. This problem means that the batik industry in Kungkai Village has not been able to develop, the batik business in Kungkai Village is only limited to one home business with a very minimal workforce. The methods implemented in this service activity are in the form of education, outreach, training, and assistance in making hand-written batik cloth. This method was carried out with 20 PKK women partners. After the service activities were carried out, the results were: (1) Partners gained knowledge about batik culture in Jambi and Kungkai Village in particular, (2) Partners received batik tools and materials in the form of canting, mori cloth, wax, and dye. (3) Partners received batik tools and materials in the form of canting, mori cloth, wax, and dye. have knowledge and skills in how to make hand-drawn batik. (4) Partners have knowledge and skills in business management, namely financial bookkeeping, and (5) Partners have knowledge and skills in the field of Information and Technology (IT), namely online marketing using an online shop account that they already have (6) Partners have a working group to develop the batik industry in Kungkai.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kungkai, Kecamatan Bangko, Kabupaten Merangin Provinsi Jambi. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah banyaknya warga Desa Kungkai yang tidak mengetahui gologan darah mereka (Khususnya ibu-ibu). Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan hal tersebut diantaranya, karena kurangnya informasi tentang manfaat mengetahui golongan darah. Permasalahan ini membuat masyarakat di Desa Kungkai, kesulitan mencari pendonor darah ketika ada keluarga atau tetangga yang membutuhkan pertolongan tambahan darah. Selain itu terkadang warga juga di buat susah mengisi suatu formulir isian yang menghendaki informasi golongan darah. Adapun metode yang dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah berupa penyuluhan mengenai golongan darah, pentingnya mengetahui golongan darah, pentingnya donor darah bagi yang membutuhkan serta pengecekan langsung golongan darah. Metode tersebut terlaksana dengan mitra ibu-ibu yang berjumlah 20 orang. Setelah kegiatan pengabdian terlaksana diperoleh hasil (1) Mitra mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang jenis-jenis golongan darah, (2) Mitra mendapat pengetahuan pentingnya donor darah bagi yang membutuhkan (3) Mitra mengetahui manfaat mengethui jenis golongan darahnya.

Abstract

Project-based learning (PBL) is an innovative approach to curriculum development aimed at fostering creativity and collaboration among students. This approach integrates student-centered learning with real-world projects relevant to professional environments and everyday life. In project-based learning, students actively engage in exploration, investigation, and the creation of products or solutions, motivating them to think critically, work in teams, and develop communication skills. This article explores how project-based curricula are designed and implemented to promote deep student engagement, enhance 21st-century skills, and create meaningful learning experiences. Additionally, the challenges and strategies for implementing project-based education are discussed, including the critical role of teachers as facilitators and the integration of technology to support learning. Consequently, this approach emerges as a viable solution for creating a more relevant and adaptive education system in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact (effect size) of the Problem Based Learning model on students' scientific literacy in science learning. The approach of this study is a meta-analysis involving 11 scientific papers from national and international publications. The meta-analysis study shows that there is a positive effect of using the Problem Based Learning model on students' scientific literacy, from 11 scientific papers analyzed, 4 articles have a high effect size category and 7 scientific papers have a medium effect size category. From the level of education (elementary, junior high and senior high school), the Problem Based Learning model has an average effect size with a high category. Meanwhile, from the subject matter, the Problem Based Learning model has a medium and high effect size category on the material or theme that can be analyzed through 11 scientific papers. From this meta-analysis, it can be concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning model can increase the scientific literacy of students at elementary, junior high and senior high school levels.

Abstract

Hasil dari tes awal di MTs SMQ Titian Teras menunjukkan jika peserta didik belum mampu menuntaskan permaslahan terkait pemahaman konsep matematika. Para peserta didik tidak dapat menggunakan konsep di berbagai representasi permasalahan matematika, memilih serta menggunakan prosedur tertentu, serta menerapkan konsep ataupun algoritma pada memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan model eksperimen kuantitatif. Pengambilan sampelnya dilakukan dengan cara acak sederhana. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes yang mengukur pemahaman peserta didik pada pemahaman konsep matematika melalui penggunaan instrument berbentuk soal esai. Analisis data dan uji hipotesis, digunakan teknik uji-t. Dari analisis data akhir di kelas eksperimen, didapat rata-rata 48,875, sedangkan di kelas kontrol, rata-ratanya adalah 42,182. Hasil pengujian hipotesis memperlihatkan besaran t_hitung yaitu 2,462 serta t_tabel yaitu 1,680. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, kesimpulan yang bisa diambil adalah pemahaman konsep matematika yang melalui pembelajaran yang mengunakan model Co-Op Co-Op lebih baik dari pemahaman konsep matematika melalui pembelajaran model konvensional.
