Abstract

Women have always been considered in several studies as the most vulnerable group to disaster risk and less involved in the post-disaster recovery process. This paper aims to find out and analyze the entrepreneurial activities of rural women who joined the management of Nusa Tourism Village as one of the post-disaster economic recovery efforts. The main question that will be answered in this study is how rural women are involved in entrepreneurial activities based on tourism villages after the tsunami. To answer this question, this paper uses qualitative methods with a constructivist paradigm and narrative approach. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that women of Nusa Village carried out tourism village-based entrepreneurial activities through socio-ecological capital. This socio-ecological capital consists of elements of social capital in the form of social relations, beliefs, collective norms, and collective actions. The element of ecological capital is in the form of the utilization of land, water, plants, and household waste which is packaged through various tour packages. This study concludes that socio-ecological capital is an important capital for rural women in carrying out entrepreneurial activities to recover the post-disaster economy.

Abstract

The Makmue Beujaya Women Entrepreneurship Group (KWW) has great potential in developing a lime-based business in Kuta Makmue Village, Nagan Raya Regency. Previously, the planted limes were only processed into one product, namely dish soap. This resulted in limited group income because the products produced were not optimal in fully utilizing the potential of lime. To overcome this problem, a community service program was implemented with the aim of encouraging the diversification of processed lime products, including by producing new products such as hand sanitizer and lime slice. This program uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involves women group members actively in the entire process, starting from the socialization, training, to evaluation stages. The results of this activity show an increase in the capacity of women's groups, both in creating innovative products based on local potential and increasing knowledge and skills in product diversification. This effort is expected to encourage sustainable economic growth for the group and improve family welfare through a flexible business that can be done from home

Abstract

This study delves into the diverse motivations and impacts of Instagram filter usage among young Indonesians, focusing on how these digital tools influence selfrepresentation and social interaction within the digital sphere. While Instagram filters are traditionally viewed as aesthetic enhancements, this research highlights their broader roles, including entertainment, education, and personal branding. Utilizing a qualitative approach, this paper collects data through interviews and netnography, employing snowball sampling to gather in-depth insights from eight young Instagram users. Findings indicate that young people use filters not only for visual enhancement but also for fun, educational engagement, and the expression of personal traits like humor and intelligence. This usage underscores young people's agency as active consumers, manipulating digital tools to craft their public personas and navigate social media spaces. This study underscores the need for further quantitative research to explore the widespread patterns of filter consumption among youth, aiming to enrich the understanding of digital identity formation in a globalized context.

Abstract

This article discusses the construction of the Muslims youth identity in cafes. Cafes as a public habitus that is constructed modern and considered not 'Islamic' does not mean that it has no relationship with Islam. Therefore, this article seeks to answer the question of what is the relationship between Islam, cafes, and social media? So, to what extent do Muslims youth access cafes? Finally, how do Muslims youth construct their identity of piety and youth in a café? To answer these questions, the authors conducted fieldwork in the form of observations and interviews with café owners and several youths with a narrative approach. Then public space theory, identity theory and digital production theory were used to analyze research data. The results of this study found that the relationship between cafes, Islam and social media manifested in the activities of young Muslims themselves, especially in consuming café public spaces such as enjoying food and beverage products, wifi facilities, prayer facilities, and taking pictures. Muslim youth not only access the symbols of café modernity and post them on social media, but also access the café's worship facilities. These three practices, both in consuming symbols of café modernity such as café architectural design and painting art on coffee (latte art), then uploading it to social media and doing prayer practices in cafes are ways for young people to construct their pious and youthful identity while in the café. This finding deconstructs the long-held view by some scholars or the public that cafes are considered public spaces that have no connection with Islam.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the digital literacy position of students using social media in Aceh and see its relation to the issue of OGBV as victims and bystanders. This research also investigates the relationship between digital literacy, OGBV, and the role of Sharia Law in Aceh, which may provide a new perspective for preventing OGBV in Indonesia, considering the paucity of previous studies correlating those three aspects. This research utilized the concept of Digital Literacy created by Paul Gilster and used the Four-Component Digital Literacy Model developed by Alexander V. Sharikov. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach. Researchers conducted in-depth interviews with nine students and analyzed them using Thematic Analysis. The results revealed that most participants do not have a knowledge base about OGBV, which has implications for their digital literacy capital, especially in identifying various OGBV variants and how to protect personal data on social media. In addition, Islamic law influences participants' digital literacy in dealing with OGBV. However, participants' knowledge of Sharia law values regarding safe and responsible digital interaction patterns has yet to develop comprehensively.

Abstract

This article aims to investigate how the digital volunteers of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) utilize social media to promote the organization. The study employs a qualitative approach, gathering data through online interviews and content analysis of the Instagram account @nucreativemedia. This study will address three questions: First, what motivates digital volunteers to create the Instagram account @nucreativemedia? Second, what types of content are promoted on this account? Third, how do digital volunteers present NU content on Instagram? Based on these questions, the findings indicate that: First, the initiative to create the Instagram account @nucreativemedia is driven by the desire to counter radical and conservative Islamic movements on social media. Second, the content promoted includes NU scholars, fiqh and worship, social-political issues, and public facilities associated with NU, such as pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), hospitals, universities, and products. Third, the Instagram account @nucreativemedia enhances its content through a combination of colors, images, and audio that reflect NU culture. This promotional effort further reinforces NU's position and relevance in the online space.
