Abstract

Character education is a planned effort to build identity and strengthen students' character. It is an endeavor to help students understand the values of human behavior in relation to God, themselves, and others. The purpose of this study is to explore the values of character education derived from verses of the Qur'an and Hadiths, which can serve as a foundation for human development within the community. The study focuses on identifying Qur'anic verses and Hadiths that reinforce character building and interpreting their meanings as narrated by scholars of Hadith to serve as foundational data. The findings indicate that character education is essential because education not only aims to nurture intelligent students but also seeks to instill character and courtesy in daily life. If students possess strong character, the nation will benefit, as students are the future generation of the country. Therefore, they must build their character from an early age so that as future leaders, they are not only intelligent but also possess good moral character. For this reason, instilling character values in students must begin as early as possible, during a period when children absorb practical knowledge as preparation for their future.

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive discussion of the concept of the learning process from the perspective of Islamic educational psychology, in which learning is understood as an activity that results in relatively permanent behavioral changes through experience, practice, and interaction with the environment. These changes encompass three interrelated domains, cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitudes and values), and psychomotor (skills), which collectively shape the learner’s holistic personality. In Islam, learning is not merely an intellectual pursuit but also a spiritual activity regarded as an act of worship and a means of drawing closer to Allah SWT. This aligns with the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith, which emphasize the obligation of seeking knowledge. Accordingly, Islamic education integrates spiritual and moral dimensions as essential components of learning objectives. Within the framework of Islamic educational psychology, the effectiveness of the learning process is influenced by key factors such as the teacher’s role as a guide, student readiness and motivation, clarity of learning objectives, relevance of content, appropriate instructional methods, supportive learning media, and a fair and objective evaluation system. These elements must be designed in an integrative manner to ensure that the learning process is effective, efficient, and meaningful in accordance with Islamic values. Thus, in Islamic education, the learning process aims not only at achieving academic excellence but also at fostering students’ character and spirituality in a holistic manner.

Abstract

This article discusses various tahfidzul Qur’an learning strategies and their relationship to enhancing comprehensive understanding of Islamic studies. Tahfidz learning not only emphasizes the cognitive aspect of memorization but also involves the affective and spiritual dimensions of the learners. The study aims to identify effective instructional strategies for improving both the quality of Qur’anic memorization and mastery of Islamic subjects. The strategies examined include expository, inquiry-based, problem-based, cooperative, contextual, and affective approaches, grounded in behaviorist theory as the conceptual framework. Methods such as wahdah, jibril, yanbu’a, muroja’ah, and tilawati are also analyzed as effective techniques in Qur’an memorization. The findings indicate that the use of well-planned and integrated strategies positively impacts both memorization quality and comprehension of Islamic studies, including aqidah, fiqh, tasawuf, tafsir, hadith, and modern as well as interdisciplinary methodological approaches. Thus, optimal tahfidzul Qur’an instruction can significantly strengthen the intellectual and spiritual dimensions of learners in the context of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

This study was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Blagung, Boyolali using a qualitative approach, involving the principal, teachers, and curriculum administration staff as research subjects. The aim of the study is to analyze the curriculum management and administration processes in supporting effective learning at the madrasah. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively. The findings show that curriculum management is carried out through four main stages: planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation. The planning stage involves designing learning programs based on students’ needs; the implementation stage focuses on the application of the curriculum in teaching and learning processes; the supervision stage ensures alignment between curriculum design and classroom practices; while the evaluation stage assesses the effectiveness of curriculum implementation and informs continuous improvement. Curriculum administration plays a strategic role in optimizing resource utilization, offering flexible learning options for students, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of learning processes through systematic oversight. The study concludes that structured curriculum management, supported by sound administrative practices, is essential for achieving optimal educational outcomes in madrasahs.
