Abstract

Background: Hemodialysis is often found in complications that include muscle cramps, hypotension, arrhythmia, hypoxemia, uremia, hypoglycemia and digestive disorders. The function of kidney organs that are replaced by dialysis is that there are significant differences, so that the metabolic material which should be absorbed is wasted, especially blood glucose. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of blood glucose in pre-HD patients at Sanglah Hospital Denpasar. Method: The design of this study used a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients who would undergo hemodialysis in the hemodialysis unit of Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, with a sample of 30 people. Primary data presented in the form of frequency distribution. Blood glucose levels were measured by a glucometer device, blood samples were taken through 5 minute capillary access before the hemodialysis process was carried out. Results: In this study it was found that the majority of respondents who underwent hemodialysis in the hemodialysis unit of Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, were 51-55 years old with 9 people (33.33%), 19 people (63.33%) male sex, and recorded that 13 respondents (43.33%) had blood glucose levels 70-125 mg / dl and 17 respondents (56.67%) had blood glucose levels> 125 mg / dl. From the results of measurements of blood glucose levels for the study sample, patients who underwent hemodialysis in the hemodialysis unit of Sanglah General Hospital were included in the high category, and 13 respondents were included in the normal category. Conclusion: Most of the patients undergoing hemodialysis have a history of diabetes, this is the most common cause of kidney failure. High blood sugar levels are a risk factor for damage to various systems and tissues in the kidneys. Many studies have shown that good blood sugar levels will prevent kidney damage.

Abstract

Abstract Autonomic neuropathy in diabetes mellitus impact the feet to losing their natural ability to moisturize the overlying skin, so that the skin of the feet becomes dry, cracked, and prone to infections (ulcers). This activity aims to enable people with diabetes to be able to do foot exercises and cutaneous stimulation with VCO so that the skin moisture in their feet increases. Foot skin moisture was measured by a Skin Moisture Analyzer at ten right foot points before and after four weeks of diabetes people doing foot exercises and cutaneous stimulation with VCO. Average foot moisture before foot exercises and cutaneous stimulation with VCO of 38.93 then increased to 49.55. Paired t test proved that there was a significant increase in foot skin moisture after activity (t = -4.66 and significance value = 0.00). All people with diabetes are advised to continue their activities.Key words: Skin Moisture, Foot Exercises, Cutaneous Stimulation

Abstract

Chronic hyperglycolia in people with diabetes results in changes in intra-cell biochemical homeostasis so that the selendothel and nerves are disturbed. Disorders of blood vessels and nerves result in decreased blood supply to the legs. Decreased blood supply to the legs is characterized by a decrease in the value of oxygen saturation. Efforts are needed to improve oxygen saturation in people with diabetes to prevent diabetic foot disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Foot SPA with the help of wood reflection on oxygen saturation in people with diabetes in South Denpasar. The study was conducted with a quasi-experimental method, pre-test post test with control group design. The study used 2 (two) groups, group I was given treatment in the form of Foot SPA with the help of wood reflection every 2 days 15-30 minutes for 6 weeks, group II (control group) were given foot exercises every 2 days 15-30 minutes for 6 weeks. Saturation data were collected with digital oximetry at the beginning of the study and one day after the treatment period ended. Data were analyzed by paired and unpaired different tests. The results of the statistical independent test of the t test that have been done show that the value of p value is 0,000 (p value 0.05). This shows that there is a significant difference in oxygen saturation of the legs in the diabetics between the treatment groups that are given SPA reflective wooden foot SPA with a control group that is only given diabetic foot exercises. This can also be seen from the difference in the average oxygen saturation of the feet with diabetes in the treatment group by 4.52% and the control group by 0.28%. The results of the analysis showed that the administration of reflex wooden aids on foot was more effective in increasing oxygen saturation of the feet compared to only foot exercises in the control group.
