Abstract

Frailty syndrome is often correlated with the appearance of pathological conditions in elderly age. Frailty syndrome occurs in 30% of the population over 80 years and 7% in the population above 65 years with a higher incidence of women. The purpose of this reserach was to determine what factors are related to the incidence of Frailty Syndrome in elderly Type 2 DM sufferers. The type of this research is a correlational descriptive research, where the researchers conducted the research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this research were all the patients with type 2 DM who were in Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) Syekh Yusuf Gowa, with the population of 152 people. The sample in this research amount 40 people with a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique. This research was conducted at the Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) Syekh Yusuf Gowa on April 29th- May 29th 2019. The results of this research found that the value of medication adherence with p= 0,003, physical activity with p= 0,000, and diet with p= 0,000. The conclusion of this reserach is; there is a relationship between medication adherence with frailty syndrome, there is a relationship between physical activity with frailty syndrome, and there is a relationship between dietary habit with frailty syndrome

Abstract

This study aims to determine the best concentration on the comparison of jackfruit skin starch and chitosan with the addition of virgin coconut oil (VCO) as a plasticizer and the characteristics of bioplastics. The research method consisted of the following steps: extracting jackfruit skin starch using two processes, namely the delignification process and the bleaching process. The production of bioplastics was carried out with the following treatments: Jackfruit skin starch: chitosan, each with a ratio of P1= 100%:0%; P2 = 85%:15%; P3 = 70%:30% and P4 = 55%:45% with the addition of VCO of 10% of the total starch of jackfruit skin and chitosan and stirred for 1 hour until homogeneous. The resulting solution was then printed on a glass mold with a size of 20 x 15 cm and dried in an oven at 60oC for 6 hours. The bioplastics were cooled at room temperature for 6 hours then removed from the glass plate and stabilized in a desiccator before being analyzed. Data analysis used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatment levels and three replications. The results showed that the addition of chitosan and VCO had a very significant effect (p<0.05) on the characteristics of bioplastics. The best treatment ratio was obtained in the ratio of jackfruit skin starch: chitosan 55%:45% with each thickness value of 0.1682 mm, tensile strength of 0.5933 MPA, 20% water absorption and 50% biodegradability test which can be degraded for 3 weeks.

Abstract

A weak immune system in children makes them more susceptible to disease. Especially a fever that develops into a febrile seizure. Febrile seizures can occur due to an increase in body temperature (above 38 ° C checked rectally) this is influenced by processes outside the head or brain without being accompanied by intracranial infection or other causes. The purpose of this study was to determine nursing management, namely body temperature management in the form of warm compresses and tepid sponges in children under five who had febrile seizures. Method : the method used is a study of literature by collecting data from various articles. Results and analysis : based on 10 journal articles that have been reviewed, the results show that body temperature management, especially the provision of warm compresses, can treat febrile seizures in children under five. Discussion and Conclusions: Children under five with febrile seizures are given management in the form of body temperature management, by using warm compresses and tepid sponges to reduce body temperature

Abstract

The research objective was to analyze the pathogenic bacteria in oysters (Crassostrea cucullata). This research was conducted at the Makassar Laboratory (BBLK). The samples used were oyster meat and innards. Parameters observed were Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. Research on samples was carried out using biochemical tests to identify the type of bacteria in the sample by planting the bacteria on Nutrient Agar (NA) media. The results showed that oyster meat in Lengkese Village, Takalar Regency was negative for E. coli and Salmonella sp. While the oyster meat samples in Coppo Village, Barru Regency showed positive E. coli bacteria and negative Salmonella sp.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the optimum formulation of fruitghurt from the white layer of watermelon skin with the addition of dragon fruit extract and to analyze the effect of adding dragon fruit extract to pH, lactic acid levels, vitamin C and fruitghurt acceptability from the white layer of watermelon skin. This research method consisted of 5 stages, namely making watermelon skin filtrate, making watermelon extract, making dragon fruit extract, making fruitghurt and incubation (fermentation). In this study, 4 formulations were carried out with different proportions of adding dragon fruit extract. Formula A (100 ml of watermelon skin filtrate, 15 ml of watermelon extract, 0 ml of dragon fruit extract, 11.5 grams of skim milk, 11.5 grams of sugar, 23 grams of plain yogurt), formula B (100 ml of skin filtrate, 15 ml of watermelon extract, 3.5 ml dragon fruit extract, 11.5 grams skim milk, 11.5 grams sugar, 23 grams plain yogurt), formula C (100 ml watermelon peel filtrate, 15 ml watermelon extract, 6.5 ml extract dragon fruit, 11.5 grams of skim milk, 11.5 grams of sugar, 23 grams of plain yogurt), formula D (100 ml of watermelon skin filtrate, 15 ml of watermelon extract, 9.5 ml of dragon fruit extract, 11.5 grams of milk skim, 11.5 grams of sugar, 23 grams of plain yogurt). The sample tests that have been made include the pH test, lactic acid level test, vitamin C level test, and organoleptic test. The test data were analyzed statistically by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Ducans multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results obtained were the addition of dragon fruit extract had a significantly different effect on pH, lactic acid levels, vitamin C levels, taste, aroma, color, but had no significant effect on the texture of the fruitghurt produced. The optimum formulation obtained was in treatment D with a pH value (4.57), lactic acid content (2.04%), vitamin C content (0.031%), taste test 2.72 (somewhat like), color test 4.88 (like very much), texture test 4.08 (like), and aroma test 3.48 (like)
