Abstract

The textile industries’ growth in 2018 have contributed to national economic growth (Kemenperin, 2018). Enhancing competitiveness through conductive business climate is a strategic step to increase productivity (Kemenperin, 2017).  Surakarta is one of the major cities in Indonesia famous for its textile products. Based on Indonesian Statistic Center, in 2016, the national textile industry productivity declined to 7.65%, directly affecting the productivity of textile industries in Surakarta, including PT IT. The weaving department of PT IT experienced the highest decline in work productivity with physical factor exposure more than Threshold Limit Value (TLV), including lighting intensity. This research aimed to analyze the correlation between the light intensity and worker productivity in 2018. This was a quantitative observational analytic research with cross sectional design in PT IT. From 50 workers in the weaving department, 32 were selected as samples through random sampling method. Light intensity was measured using Lux Meter ANA 999 in 32 measurement points. Work productivity was calculated using Productivity formula= Output (O)/ Input (I). Spearman correlation and SPSS program were used for data analysis. The result showed that there was a significant correlation between light intensity and worker’s productivity (p=0.000, r=0.629).

Abstract

Abstract.PT X is a company plastics and textiles that has 3 section of the production process, one of which is the weaving section. During work, workers are exposed to heat stress which can affect hydration status. The objective of the research is to investigate the correlation of heat stress to hydration status of the workers at weaving section PT X. This research used the observational analytical research method with cross sectional approach. Its population was all of morning work with 60 workers at weaving section PT Kusuma Mulia Plasindo Infitex Klaten. Proposive sampling was used to determine its samples. They consisted of 37 workers. The heat stress was measured with Heat Stress Area and hydration status using urine specific gravity laboratory tests conducted by Solo Laboratory. The data were processed and analyzed by using the Spearman test. The result of this research show that the heat stress had a correlation with hydration status as indicated by the p-value = 0,001.

Abstract

Objective: Many factors affect lung function capacity in textile industry workers. This research aims to determine the factors that affect the vital role of pulmonary spinning workers in the textile industry. Methods: This research used an analytic observational research design with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling technique used total sampling and get the sample was 96 people, and measurement of lung vital capacity used spirometry. The Low Volume Sampler was applied to measure dust concentration, and the questionnaire was used to assess the individual characteristics. Results: Bivariate analysis of the variables is the working environment dust, and gender are significant. The result of multivariate analysis of dust is the most significant to the lung vital capacity. Conclusion: dust concentrations is classified above the Threshold Limit Value (TLV), so the company should to control the source of dust exposure.Keywords: lung vital capacity

Abstract

SNI ISO 22000 standard is a mandatory standard for companies in the field of food for food safety systems. In its fulfillment, the 5R culture (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rajin & Rawat) is implemented in PT.Y Surakarta with the aim of obtaining safely, healthy and productively so that work accidents can be controlled and food products produced quality.Methods of this research was a descriptive research which describes about the application of 5R culture in PT. Y Surakarta. Culture 5R was one of the programs used for the implementation of SNI ISO 22000: 2009 on Food Safety System. Assessment was conducted in 11 sections with 82.33% accounting, 71.3% Engineering, 83.3% HRGAL, 70.17% packing, 81.53% procerument, 82.92% QC, 73, 17% RMU, 66.00% Satellite, 81.25% Sourcing, 85.37 parts supply chain, 75.13% warehouse.The conclusion of this research was 5R culture including one of the programs used for the implementation of SNI ISO 22000: 2009 on Food Safety System and there were 4 parts under the target namely engineering, packing, RMU and satellite. Preferably the under-targeted section was routinely socialized about 5R and improvements were made to the findings of the 5R audit. Keywords : 5R, SNI ISO 22000 : 2009

Abstract

Pekerjaan dengan menggunakan alat mekanis yang menghasilkan getaran lengan tangan selama 8 jam sehari dalam seminggu dapat berakibat menimbulkan keluhan Carpal Tunnel Syndrom (CTS). Pekerja furnitur di Gilingan Surakarta yang menggunakan gerinda untuk menghaluskan dan memotong material berpotensi mengalami keluhan subyektif CTS berupa nyeri, mati rasa, kesemutan yang dapat berdampak pada kesehatan dan produktifitas pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa korelasi antara paparan getaran dan faktor personal yang berpengaruh terhadap keluhan CTS pada pekerja furnitur gilingan. Penelitain observasional kuantitatif dengan metode cross sectional di sentra furnitur gilingan. Jumlah responden sebanyak 54 orang dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu pekerja yang mengalami paparan getaran mekanis dari gerinda selama 6 – 8 jam perhari selama seminggu. Vibration meter digunakan untuk mengukur getaran dan kuesioner “CTS Diagnostic Questionnaire” oleh Sheffield Primary Care Trust-Hand and Elbow Pain digunakan untuk mengukur keluhan subyektif CTS dari pekerja. Korelasi Pearson dan spearman digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan hasil menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara getaran dan kebiasan merokok terhadap keluhan subyektif CTS pekerja, sedangkan usia, masa kerja, IMT tidak memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan CTS.Kata Kunci: faktor personal; getaran mekanis; keluhan CTS

Abstract

Background: Noise intensity that exceeds Threshold Limit Value (TLV) can give impacts on non-auditory on the workers in a factory, in the form of an increase in blood pressure and pulse rate. Currently, health problems due to noise have caused the company’s total loss to reach 300 billion dollars due to absenteeism rate, decreased productivity, and treatment for occupational diseases. Research in Indonesia, especially the textile industry in the city of Surakarta, shows that noise from weaving machines with an intensity above 100 dBA affects blood pressure and pulse rate. This research was conducted at textile industry in Surakarta, one of the largest textile companies in Surakarta where the company has not been able to overcome the problem of noise intensity that exceeds the TLV which has the potential to cause blood pressure and pulse disturbances, and even decreased hearing function. This study aims to determine the relationship between noise intensity with blood pressure and pulse rate in textile industry workers. Method: This research is a correlation study, which is connecting the measurement variables of noise intensity with blood pressure and pulse rate. The sample in this study were 30 female workers in the weaving division who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instruments used in measuring noise were sound level meters and sphygmomanometers. Data analysis used the Pearson correlation test to determine the relationship between noise intensity with blood pressure and pulse rate disturbances.Result: The study showed significant correlation between noise intensity and pulse rate with a p value of 0.029, but noise intensity with blood pressure disturbances does not correlate, with a p value of 0.443.Conclusion: There is a relationship between noise intensity and pulse rate of the workers in a factory.

Abstract

Pengakuan batik tulis oleh UNESCO sebagai salah satu warisan budaya dunia tak benda merupakan pengakuan luar biasa terhadap pelestarian budaya bangsa Indonesia. Namun demikian, perhatian kesehatan kerja terhadap pembatik tulis masih kurang. Pada analisis situasi ditemukan keluhan nyeri dirasakan oleh pembatik pada bagian leher (90%), pinggang (90%), pantat (90%), tengkuk (80%), bahu kiri (80%), bahu kanan (80%), punggung (80%), betis (80%), lengan atas kiri (70%), dan lengan atas kanan (70%). Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk mengurangi gangguan muskuloskeletal (MSDs) pada pembatik tulis menggunakan kursi ergonomis. Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di industri batik Bintang Annisa Kabupaten Sragen, Jawa Tengah. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui tahapan pengukuran antropometri, perancangan kursi pembatik ergonomis, mengujicobakan kursi hasil rancangan, dan menilai keluhan muskuloskeletal sesudah pembatik menggunakan kursi ergonomis hasil rancangan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan ada penurunan level risiko MSDs dari level 3 ke level 2 berdasarkan kuesioner RULA, dan terjadi penurunan keluhan muskuloskeletal pada pembatik tulis yang diukur menggunakan Nordic Body Map setelah menggunakan kursi ergonomis hasil rancangan.

Abstract

Laboratorium mesin memiliki potensi bahaya yang dapat menyebabkan kecelakaan kerja ataupun penyakit akibat kerja, maka sedari dini pengetahuan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja baik di ajarkan kepada siswa dengan basis vokasi. Salah satu strategi dalam pencegahan kecelakaan dengan risk assessment. Risk assessment adalah suatu metode pencegahan kecelakaan kerja berbasis mengidentifikasi potensi bahaya pada area kerja dan menyusun langkah-langkah pengendaliannya. Penerapan risk assessment bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi bahaya pada area laboratorium mesin serta memberikan upaya pengendaliannya. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan di SMKN 2 Surakarta dengan melibatkan siswa pada jurusan mesin. Metode pengabdian masyarakat dengan melakukan walktrough survey pada laboratorium mesin guna mengidentifikasi potensi bahaya mesin-mesin, dan bahaya lingkungan kerja. Potensi bahaya yang bisa diidentifikasi pada mesin bubut, milling, gerinda, dan cnc adalah mesin berputar tanpa pengaman, listrik tegangan tinggi, percikan gram material, kebisingan mesin, kejatuhan peralatan dan benda kerja, kebakaran, dan posisi kerja statis. Upaya pengendaliannya antara lain wajib menggunakan alat pelindung diri seperti wearpack dan sepatu saat mengoperasikan mesin, dilarang rambut panjang, dan kuku panjang, serta wajib didampingi instruktur atau guru, penyediaan alat pemadam api ringan, menggunakan kacamata keselamatan, dan melakukan peregangan otot 3- 5 menit pada pekerjaan statis. Upaya pengendalian ini penting dipahami dan diterapkan dalam menggunakan mesin sehingga potensi bahaya tidak memicu terjadi kecelakaan kerja.

Abstract

The operational activity of unloading and loading packaging at PT X Semarang involves the performance of operators who drive the head truck and chassis. The operators were poorly knowledgeable and behaved towards defensive driving. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the Defensive Driving Site or “Devise” educational website to improve head truck operators’ defensive driving knowledge and behavior. The design of this study was pre-test and post-test with control group. The respondents of the study were 106 head truck operators of PT X Semarang, with the intervention and control groups consisting of 53 respondents each. Before and after the intervention measurements of defensive driving knowledge and behavior were conducted. Comparison of the results between the two groups was analyzed by t -test. The results of the study showed that the p-value for the comparison of knowledge about defensive driving in the intervention group that received an educational website was 0.001 (there was a meaningful difference). The p value for the comparison of defensive driving behavior in the intervention group was 0.001 (there was a meaningful difference). The p-value for the comparison of knowledge about defensive driving in the control group was 0.146 (no meaningful difference). The p-value for the comparison of defensive driving behavior in the control group was 0.226 (no meaningful difference). There was a difference in defensive driving knowledge (p = 0.001) and a difference in defensive driving behavior (p = 0.001) between the intervention group and the control group. It was further concluded that the educational website was successful in improving the knowledge and defensive driving behavior of PT X Semarang head truck operators.Keywords: educational website; defensive driving; knowledge; behavior; operator head truck ABSTRAK Aktivitas operasional bongkar-muat peti kemas di PT X Semarang melibatkan kinerja operator yang mengendarai head truck dan chassis. Para operator berpengetahuan dan berperilaku kurang baik terhadap defensive driving. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas website edukasi Defensive Driving Site atau “Devise” untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku defensive driving operator head truck. Desain penelitian ini adalah pre-test and post-test with control group. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai p untuk perbandingan pengetahuan tentang defensive driving pada kelompok intervensi yang mendapatkan website edukasi adalah 0,001 (ada perbedaan bermakna). Nilai p untuk perbandingan perilaku defensive driving pada kelompok intervensi adalah 0,001 (ada perbedaan bermakna). Nilai p untuk perbandingan pengetahuan tentang defensive driving pada kelompok kontrol adalah 0,146 (tidak ada perbedaan bermakna). Nilai p untuk perbandingan perilaku defensive driving pada kelompok kontrol adalah 0,226 (tidak ada perbedaan bermakna). Terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan defensive driving (p = 0,001) dan perbedaan perilaku defensive driving (p = 0,001) antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Selanjutnya disimpulkan bahwa website edukasi sukses dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku defensive driving head truck operators PT X Semarang.Kata kunci: website edukasi; defensive driving; pengetahuan; perilaku; operator head truck
