Abstract

Masalah yang kerap dihadapi oleh petani khususnya petani kecil adalah mahalnya harga pupuk kimia, dimana pupuk merupakan faktor penentu dalam memacu tingkat produksi. Untuk menunjang kebutuhan pupuk terutama pupuk dasar, tim pengabdi melakukan tahapan pengurangan penggunaan pupuk kimia dengan menggunakan bahan alternatif, yaitu urin kambing yang dikumpulkan dari beberapa peternak kambing di sekitar desa. Tujuan umum kegiatan yaitu untuk merubah pola pikir petani kacang panjang dalam mengatasi masalah biaya pupuk yang cenderung meningkat. Sedangkan tujuan khusus kegiatan ini adalah pembuatan pupuk organik cair dari urin kambing, dan implementasinya pada tanaman kacang panjang. Metode dalam kegiatan ini yaitu pendekatan rekayasa sosial berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan secara langsung. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu berupa peningkatan pengetahuan petani dalam pembuatan pupuk organic cair dengan memanfaatkan urin kambing sebagai bahan baku utama. Kegiatan ini berjalan dengan cukup baik, namun para petani masih belum terbiasa mengunakan urin kambing untuk dijadikan pupuk organik cair.

Abstract

This socialization and training was motivated by the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer from eggshell waste, eggshell is a waste that is mostly produced by fast food traders, and they just throw it in the trash can even though the egg shells are not only for decoration or not for decoration. make full use of it even though egg shells contain nutrients that many plants need for fertilizer, increase public awareness that eggshell waste can be utilized. Abstract

Farmers in the village of Simpang Right use marginal land, namely peat soil, to develop oil palm farming. So far, the analysis of the physical properties of peatlands in Simpang Right has never been carried out. The application of fertilizers and oil palm plant care is only based on knowledge from social media and from the knowledge of parents first, so it is important to analyze the physical properties of the soil from peatlands that have been used for oil palm cultivation. This research was conducted from September 2021 to January 2022 on oil palm agricultural land cultivated by the community in Simpang Right Village, Simpang Right District, Rokan Downstream District, Riau Province. The method used is a free grid survey method at the semi-detail survey level. The implementation of taking soil samples from 3 sample points with a distance of 100 meters in the field using a random method spread over predetermined points. The results of the research on the physical properties of peatlands show that the peat soil used for oil palm plantations in the Simpang right village has Bulk Densty.0.15gr, Total Pore Space 44.68%, Field Capacity 254.25%, Withering Point 128,88%. Overall, the physical properties of the soil in oil palm plantations in Simpang Right Village, Simpang Right District, Rokan Downstream District, Riau Province are in good condition. To increase fertility for oil palm cultivation, it can be done by providing manure and chemical fertilizers with the required dose so that it can provide growth to oil palm plants.

Abstract

This ecosystem change results in changes in chemical, physical, and biological characteristics and properties. The fertility level of peatlands can be determined through an analysis of the chemical properties of the soil. Therefore, the analysis of the chemical properties of the soil, including the analysis of the main nutrient content, was carried out from November 2021 to January 2022 in Simpang Kanan Village, Simpang Kanan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Farmers in Simpang Kanan Village use marginal land, that is peat soil to develop oil palm farming. This research was conducted using the free grid method at the semi-detailed survey level. The implementation of taking soil samples from 3 sample points with a distance of 100 meters in the field using a random method scattered at predetermined points. Farmers in Simpang Kanan Village use marginal peat soil to cultivate oil palm plantations. So far, no analysis of the chemical properties of peat soil has been carried out. Application of fertilizers and cultivation is only based on knowledge from the internet or from previous generations. Therefore, it is important to study the analysis of the chemical properties of soil from peatlands used for oil palm plantations. The results of research on the chemical properties of peatlands in Simpang Kanan Village, Simpang Kanan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province showed that the peat soil planted with oil palm in Simpang Kanan Village had a pH of around 4.89, C-organic 6.07%, N-Total 1 ,67 mg/L , P-Total 34.08 mg/L , K-Total 11.54 mg/L. Thus, the chemical properties of the soil in oil palm plantations in Simpang Kanan Village, Simpang Kanan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Still good, to increase fertility for oil palm cultivation, it can be done by increasing the pH in the soil so that it maximizes oil palm development and can be used as a recommendation for oil palm fertilization.

Abstract

Oryctes rhinoceros L. merupakan salah satu hama penting pada tanaman kelapa sawit. Hama ini dapat menyebabkan turunnya produksi tandan buah segar (TBS) pada tahun pertama hingga 69%, bahkan sampai menyebabkan 25% tanaman muda mati. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan sari buah nanas dan air aren sebagai perangkap alernatif dalam mengendalikan hama kumbang tanduk. Penelitian dilaksanakan dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari 2022 di Perkebunan kelapa sawit LTJ , Kecamatan Tanjung Medan, Kabupaten Rokan Hilir, Provinsi Riau. Perlakuan memiliki 3 perlakuan dengan masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 10 kali, perlakuan yang di uji, (a) perangkap dengan No = 500 gram buah nanas. (b) N1 = 500 gram buah nanas + 1 liter air nira, (c) N2 = 1 kg buah nanas + 2 liter air nira.Selanjutnya digantungkan pada tiang kayu/bambu dengan tinggi 2,5 m, dengan jarak antar perangkap 25 meter, Masing-masing perangkap diturunkan setiap pagi hari selama 7 hari pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kumbang tanduk tertangkap paling tinggi yaitu pada pemberian perlakuan N2 sebanyak 46 ekor dengan rataan 6,5 ekor/ hari dan paling rendah pada perlakuan No yaitu sebanyak 19 ekor dengan rataan 2,7 ekor/hari. Persentase jenis kelamin kumbang tanduk yang tertangkap paling tinggi adalah berjenis kelamin jantan yaitu sebesar 62,5%, dan jenis kelamin betina sebesar 37,5%. Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan sari buah nanas dan air nira dapat dijadikan sebagai perangkap ferotrap alternatif untuk mengendalikan hama kumbang tanduk.

Abstract

Potassium is a macro nutrient that can affect the quality and quantity of oil palm bunches as well as resistance to disease and drought stress. So far, testing the status of potassium nutrient uptake in people's plantations in Perlabian Village, Kampung Rakyat Labuhanbatu Selatan District has never been carried out. Fertilization and maintenance are carried out through knowledge from generation to generation, so it is important to have a study on the nutrient uptake status of potassium in oil palm leaves. This research was conducted using a free grid survey method at the semi-detailed survey level with a density of 100 meters. A total of 6 leaf samples were taken on the 17th leaf midrib and then rubbed with 70% alcohol and then put into the plastic sample for further testing in the laboratory of PT. Socfindo. The results showed that the potassium in leaf samples 1, 3 and 4 experienced deficiency and leaf samples 2, 5 and 6 were at the optimum. In oil palm plantations in smallholder plantations in Perlabian Village, Kampung Rakyat Subdistrict, it shows that the total K content of leaves is included in the optimum category.

Abstract

Until now, Indonesia's rice production has not been able to meet all the needs of the community. In the evaluation of seeds there are often seeds that are still abnormal and have not germinated. From the description above, the researcher is interested in examining "Test of immersion time and biolemi POC dosage on the growth of rice seeds of Inpari 32 (Oryza sativa L.) variety". This research was conducted in Perbaungan Village, Bilah Hulu District, South Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research used inpari 32 rice varieties with factorial randomized block design (RAK) method, with two factors, namely soaking time and biolemy POC. Soaking time affects the growth of rice seedlings on the parameters of seedling height, germination and root length. The application of biolemy liquid organic fertilizer had no significant effect on all parameters. The interaction of immersion time with the application of biolemy liquid organic fertilizer gave no significant effect on all observation parameters.

Abstract

This study was aimed to elucidate the effect of the application of urea fertilizer and goat manure on some soil chemical properties and yield of green mustard plant (Bressicca juncea L). This study was conducted with a randomized block design consisting of two factors. The first factor was the application of goat manure (K) consisting of three levels, i.e. (K1) 1 t goat manure ha-1, (K2) 1.5 t goat manure ha-1, and (K3) 2 t goat manure ha-1. The second factor was the application of urea fertilizer consisting of two dose levels, i.e. (U1 75 kg) urea fertilizer ha-1, and (U2) 100 kg urea fertilizer ha-1. The measured parameters were soil organic-C content, soil total N content, and fresh weight of the green mustard plant. Results of the study showed that the combination of 2 t goat manure ha-1 and 100 kg urea fertilizer ha-1 was the best treatment that significantly affected soil organic-C content, soil total N, soil C/N ratio, and yield of fresh weight of the mustard green plant.

Abstract

Some communities or farmers in North Rantau Sub-district who do not know how to use land or use land for something of higher economic value. A post-rice field land is the most appropriate idea or mindset in the field, by utilizing agricultural land it becomes more useful by providing knowledge about the chemical properties of paddy fields and providing insight that paddy fields require maximum handling, restoration and improvement so that land is productive in agriculture. chili cultivation, so that it can have a good influence on the economy of the surrounding community. This study aims to determine the chemical properties of the soil to utilize red chili plants in Aek Paing Village, Rantau Utara District, Labuhanbatu Regency. This research was carried out in post-rice fields located in Aek Paing Village, Rantau Utara District, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research was carried out on October 18, 2021 until it was completed. The method used in this research is using the free grid survey method. The results of this study found that post-rice fields located in the District of North Rantau, Labuhanbatu Regency, were not well used as red chili farming land. The results of this study indicate that the pH value is low, C-Organic is low, N-total is low, P-Bray II is high, Ca is low, Mg is low, K is high, Na is low, CEC is high.

Abstract

Post-harvest technology for agricultural products has grown from time to time. One of the post-harvest technologies for agricultural products that is carried out is adding a coating material to the fruit to slow down evapotranspiration which increases the shelf life of papaya fruit. Papaya yields are increasing from time to time, this must be followed by handling the papaya harvest properly. This study aims to determine whether or not the effect of giving wax with oleic acid and tritenolamine solvents on the shelf life of papaya fruit and to determine the concentration of beeswax with oleic acid and tritenolamine solvents which are good for coating papaya fruit. The treatment parameters were wax coating with a concentration of 2%, 4%, 6% and control. Observations included fruit weight, fruit weight loss, fruit texture and organoleptic tests on fruit color, fruit aroma and fruit taste. The results showed that applying beeswax coating with oleic acid and tritenolamine solvent did not affect the shelf life of papaya fruit. The right concentration to coat the papaya fruit is wax coating with a concentration of 4%. Key words: Papaya fruit, wax coating, oleic acid, tritenolamine, shelf life, fruit quality
