Abstract

Nurse performance is one of the determinants of hospital success rate in providing health services. Efforts to improve nurse performance include paying attention to nurses' work stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of communication and incentives for nurses' performance in the inpatient room at Royal Prima Hospital Medan. This type of cross-sectional research with an explanatory research method approach. The total population of 41 nurses and all nurses used as respondents (total sampling). Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and logistic regression was used to obtain an OR (Odds Ratio) value. The results showed nurses with good communication would increase performance by 6.7 times (p = 0.012: OR = 6.708) and the provision of incentives would increase performance by 6.6 times (p = 0.006; OR = 6.667).

Abstract

The use of opioid in various guidelines for chronic non-cancer pain is controversial because evidence of their long-term benefits is weak. The potential for serious adverse effects and local regulations warrant caution in both prescribers and users. However, opioids have a role in the management of chronic non-cancer pain in carefully selected patients with regular monitoring and as a part of multimodal therapy. Common adverse effects should be treated promptly to improve patient compliance. We believe that opioid therapy at low doses is beneficial in some patients. It should not be denied but carefully considered on a case-by-case basis.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the sedative-hypnotic effectiveness of keji beling leaf extract (Strobilanthes crispus) on sleep disturbances (insomnia) in mice. The method employed was an experimental design with a completely randomized design (CRD). The study subjects were healthy male mice aged 2–3 months with body weights of 20–30 grams, divided into five treatment groups: negative control, positive control (diazepam), and three groups with EEDKB doses (100 mg/Kg BW, 300 mg/Kg BW, and 500 mg/Kg BW). The fireplace test method was used to assess sleep activity. Data were analyzed using a One Way ANOVA test. The results indicated a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), suggesting significant differences in sedative-hypnotic effectiveness among the control and treatment groups. In conclusion, EEDKB demonstrated significant sedative effects, with effectiveness increasing proportionally to the dosage

Abstract

One of the problems for pregnant women is dealing with pain and recovering quickly after surgery. This research focuses on observing pregnant women after surgery to compare the pain scale and duration of early post-operative mobilization using ERACS tap blocks and ERACS without tap blocks. This quantitative research was designed using a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was 40 respondents selected by purposive sampling. The pain scale was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Early Mobilization was measured using an observation sheet. Based on the results of statistical analysis. The p value in the results of the Mann-Whitney test analysis on the pain scale for both variables is VAS5 (24 hours) which has a p value of 0.028 which is lower than 0.05. Early mobilization shows that catheter removal has a p value of 0.002, lower than 0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pain scale and the duration of early mobilization using ERACS tap block and ERACS without tap block.

Abstract

Abstract

This study focused on the observation of pregnant women after surgery to determine the comparison of drugs and pain scales after surgery with the ERACS method and the method without ERACS. This study aims to determine the comparison of drugs and pain scales in patients after Sectio Caesarea surgery using the ERACS method and without ERACS. Currently, the Enhanced Recovery After Caesarian Surgery (ERACS) method as a perioperative program is popular, because it is considered to have a faster healing time and minimize pain so as to provide comfort to patients. This quantitative study was designed using a Cross-Sectional approach. The research sample was 40 respondents whose Pain Scale was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) measured with an observation sheet. Based on the results of statistical analysis. In the results of the Univariate test analysis on drug administration and pain scales of both VAS variables after (24 hours). It can be concluded that there is a difference between the amount of pain medication given and the pain scale with the ERACS method and the method without ERACS. The ERACS method has been shown to be more effective in reducing pain after Sectio Caesarea surgery and accelerating patient recovery compared to the method without ERACS. These findings support the use of the ERACS method as a standard of care to improve patient comfort and clinical efficiency

Abstract

Incised wounds are disruptions of skin integrity that require effective treatment to accelerate healing. Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii), rich in secondary metabolites such as eugenol, cinnamaldehyde, and flavonoids, is known for its potential as an anti- inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial agent. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cinnamon extract ointment in healing incised wounds in Wistar rats. This experimental study used a post-test only control group design. A total of 30 Wistar rats were divided into five groups: a negative control (ointment base), a positive control (gentamicin ointment), and three treatment groups with cinnamon extract ointments at concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 40%. Observations of wound length and healing percentages were conducted over 14 days. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests. The results showed a significant reduction in wound length in the 40% cinnamon extract ointment group (19.6 mm) compared to the negative control (12.8 mm) and were close to the effectiveness of gentamicin ointment (20 mm). The highest wound healing percentage was also achieved in the 40% concentration group (98.2%), comparable to gentamicin ointment (100%). Cinnamon extract ointment at a concentration of 40% effectively accelerates the healing of incised wounds in Wistar rats, with effectiveness comparable to gentamicin ointment. Further research is needed to evaluate its safety and clinical potential.
