Abstract

Education about petty cash for students at SMA XY serves as an integral part of Community Service, a collaborative effort between professors and students from Tarumanagara University aimed at fostering a positive impact on Indonesia's education landscape. This initiative specifically focuses on enhancing students' knowledge of recording petty cash and related transactions within an accounting period. The comprehensive program, executed in person at SMA XY on October 11, 2023, engaged 60 students from the school. The significance of this endeavor lies in its dual contribution of providing practical insights into petty cash journaling and broadening students' overall understanding of accounting principles. The activities encompass theoretical discussions on cash concepts, methodologies for petty cash journaling, and hands-on exercises to ensure a thorough comprehension of the subject matter. This immersion in accounting fundamentals is envisioned to equip SMA XY students with the necessary skills for the challenges of higher education and future professional endeavors. As a measure of success, at the culmination of the community service, an impressive 79% of SMA XY students demonstrated their deep understanding of the Petty Cash module by correctly answering the Quizizz question bank. This outcome serves as a testament to the efficacy of the program in fostering substantial learning outcomes among the participating students.

Abstract

This paper investigates the vital role of education in improving the well-being of street children, with a focus on enhancing their educational opportunities and outcomes. Street children, who are frequently marginalized and disregarded, encounter a range of obstacles that impede their access to high-quality education, including financial constraints, societal biases, and a lack of formal identification. The paper delves into the various challenges faced by street children, including economic limitations, social prejudices, and the absence of formal identification. The central message conveyed is that collaborative initiatives between Sahabat Grogol and Tarumanagara University aim to enhance educational accessibility. This is realized through the implementation of several activities in early childhood education institutions, such as introducing letters and numbers, fostering literacy skills, engaging in creative tasks like decorating doughnuts, and participating in physical exercises. The implementation method of the Community Service Program (PKM) involves face-to-face interactions and demonstrates results that have an impact on street children, such as the ability to read, write, improve motor skills, and enhance creativity. Furthermore, the paper underscores the substantial role these children play in contributing meaningfully to society. By investing in education and promoting collective efforts, the objective is to empower street children to construct a more promising and sustainable future for themselves.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve accounting education by introducing a video-based learning approach that emphasizes understanding the basics of accounting, specifically through the book "Introduction to Accounting Study Guide" and the "Introduction to Accounting" module. Traditional education methods at school involve face-to-face interaction with Tarumanagara University lecturers and students. However, this research presents a new approach by creating learning videos that summarize key accounting theories and practical examples. This innovative approach is designed to facilitate a deeper understanding of basic accounting concepts, while ensuring accessibility and smooth learning. The primary goal is to prepare to further their academic pursuits at an advanced level. of accounting studies. However, not only that, this approach also aims to provide additional understanding for UMKM users in running their business with a strong accounting foundation. By focusing on learning videos, it is hoped that this method can become a useful resource for students and UMKM users, providing better understanding and facilitating the application of accounting concepts in real life. This strategy aims to enhance the standard of accounting education and enhance the capability of UMKM users to efficiently handle their business finances.

Abstract

This research analyzes the health and economic impacts of air pollution in Jakarta Province, Indonesia, with a focus on the initiative to provide free masks as a preventive measure. In dealing with high levels of air pollution, the methods used include analysis of study areas, evaluation of exposure data, production of campaign videos to care about air pollution, and distribution of free masks. Specific findings demonstrate the significant impact of air pollution on public health, especially on respiratory diseases and the economic burden it causes. The initiative to provide free masks is a concrete step in protecting public health from air pollution. The community's positive response shows the potential long-term impact on environmental awareness and health. This article emphasizes the importance of preventive efforts based on understanding the health and economic impacts of air pollution, which not only provide short-term protection but also raise awareness of environmental and health problems in the long term.

Abstract

In the era of information and globalization that continues to grow, understanding financial reports has become an essential skill for the next generation. Financial reports are an alternative to determine the financial health of a company. By realizing how important financial reports are, we intend to deepen the material at Tarsisius 1 High School, West Jakarta. This is because the current high school education curriculum teaches accounting material in class XII so the material explained is less detailed. In fact, basic accounting material is an important foundation for accounting knowledge which should be taught from the start of high school. The deepening of this material was carried out at Tarsisius I High School, West Jakarta with a total of 10 meetings with a duration of one hour and thirty minutes, to be precise every Wednesday from 14.30 WIB to 16.00 WIB. The deepening of the material regarding financial reports was carried out at the 5th meeting on Wednesday, October 4 2023. This study begins with an introduction to the theory of financial reports, discussion of example questions, and implementation of a quiz with prizes. The material discussed in this activity includes the meaning of financial reports, the purpose of making financial reports, the types and differences of each financial report, and procedures for preparing financial reports. After the in-depth study of this material is complete, Tarsisius High School students will receive benefits in the form of increased knowledge and insight. Apart from that, students also have skills in preparing financial reports and are able to explain the relationship between financial reports and previous journals as a whole part of the service company's accounting cycle.

Abstract

The significance of this endeavor lies in its dual contribution of providing practical insights into adjusting entries and broadening students' overall understanding of accounting principles. The activities encompass theoretical discussions on concept of adjusting journal recording types, and hands-on exercises to ensure a thorough comprehension of the subject matter. This immersion in accounting fundamentals is envisioned to equip SMA NEGERI 2 students with the necessary skills for the challenges of higher education and future professional endeavors. As a measure of success, at the culmination of the community service, an impressive 71% of SMA NEGERI 2 students demonstrated their deep understanding of the Adjusting entries module by correctly answering the Kahoot question bank. This outcome serves as a testament to the efficacy of the program in fostering substantial learning outcomes among the participating students. ABSTRAK Pendalaman materi ayat jurnal penyesuaian bagi murid siswa/i di SMA NEGERI 2 hal ini merupakan bagian dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) yang melibatkan partisipasi para dosen dan mahasiswa/i dari Universitas Tarumanagara dengan tujuan memberikan dampak positif pada ekosistem pendidikan di Indonesia. Program ini memberikan kontribusi dengan menyediakan pengetahuan tambahan tentang pencatatan ayat jurnal penyesuaian dan transaksi terkait dalam periode akuntansi. Penyampaian materi mengenai pencatatan ayat jurnal penyesuaian dilakukan secara langsung di SMA NEGERI 2 pada tanggal 15 Maret 2024, dan dihadiri oleh 20 murid siswa/i SMA NEGERI 2. Signifikansi dari kegiatan ini terletak pada dua dampak utamanya, yaitu memberikan wawasan praktis tentang pencatatan ayat jurnal penyesuaian dan memperluas pemahaman umum siswa tentang prinsip akuntansi. Kegiatan ini melibatkan diskusi teoritis mengenai konsep tipe pencatatan jurnal penyesuaian, dan latihan praktik untuk memudahkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan. Penguatan pemahaman terhadap materi ini diharapkan dapat mempersiapkan kepada siswa/i SMA NEGERI 2 dalam menghadapi tuntutan pendidikan tinggi dan dunia kerja di masa depan. Sebagai ukuran keberhasilan, pada akhir kegiatan PKM, sebanyak 71% siswa SMA NEGERI 2 berhasil menjawab dengan benar bank soal di Kahoot, mencerminkan pemahaman mendalam mereka terhadap materi ayat jurnal penyesuaian. Hasil ini menjadi bukti keefektifan program dalam mendorong pencapaian hasil belajar yang substansial di kalangan siswa yang berpartisipasi.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology makes mastering basic accounting knowledge crucial for accountants. The community service program at SMA Tarsisius I aims to improve students' understanding of basic accounting concepts, particularly in relation to posting journal entries into ledgers, which is a vital foundation for those who wish to pursue higher-level accounting studies. Additionally, SMA Tarsisius I faces challenges in delivering a large amount of material within a limited time, causing the focus of teaching to shift from student understanding to merely completing the entire curriculum. Therefore, education for students at SMA Tarsisius I in the form of community service was conducted by lecturers and students from Tarumanagara University, with the hope of contributing to the advancement of Indonesia's education ecosystem. The activity was held offline on September 11, 2024, and was attended by 10 students from SMA Tarsisius 1. The teacher will conduct interactive learning activities, including pre-tests, concept and theory presentations, practice question discussions, and post-tests. The results of the activity show an increase in students' understanding from 50% to 100%, as shown by the quiz results. These results indicate that the learning activities provided have successfully improved students' understanding of ledgers. As a follow-up, teachers and school authorities can conduct further activities to monitor students' progress in applying basic accounting concepts. ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat membuat penguasaan ilmu akuntansi dasar menjadi sangat penting bagi para akuntan. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat di SMA Tarsisius I bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa/i terhadap konsep akuntansi dasar, terutama terkait posting jurnal ke dalam buku besar, yang menjadi fondasi penting bagi mereka yang ingin melanjutkan studi akuntansi di jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Selain itu, SMA Tarsisius I menghadapi tantangan dalam menyampaikan materi yang banyak dengan waktu yang terbatas, sehingga fokus pengajaran sering beralih dari pemahaman siswa menjadi sekadar menyelesaikan seluruh kurikulum. Untuk itu, edukasi untuk siswa/i di SMA Tarsisius I dalam bentuk PKM diadakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa/i Universitas Tarumanagara dengan harapan dapat berkontribusi bagi kemajuan ekosistem pendidikan di Indonesia. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara luring pada tanggal 11 September 2024 dan diikuti oleh 10 siswa-siswi SMA Tarsisius 1. Pengajar akan mengadakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang interaktif, meliputi pre-test, pemaparan konsep dan teori, pembahasan latihan soal, dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa/i dari 50% menjadi 100% yang ditunjukkan melalui hasil kuis. Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa kegiatan pembelajaran yang diberikan telah berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa/i tentang buku besar. Sebagai tindak lanjut, pengajar maupun pihak sekolah dapat mengadakan kegiatan lanjutan untuk memantau kemajuan siswa/i dalam mengaplikasikan konsep akuntansi dasar.

Abstract

Exploration of material on the use of accounting programs in inputting company transactions, especially cash and bank transactions for students at SMK Kristen Rahmani as part of Community Service (PKM) activities. This activity involves active participation from lecturers and students from Tarumanagara University with the aim of having a positive impact on the education ecosystem in Indonesia. This program contributes by providing additional knowledge about the use of accounting programs in inputting company transactions, especially cash and bank transactions. The delivery of material regarding program use and input was carried out directly at the Kristen Rahmani Vocational School on September 26 2024, and was attended by 15 students of the Rahmani Kristen Vocational School. The significance of this activity lies in its two main impacts, namely providing practical insight into the use of accounting programs in inputting company cash and bank transactions and expanding students' general understanding of accurate programs. Strengthening understanding of this material was tested through an oral quiz which was taken by all participants and the results showed that 80% of Rahmani Kristen Vocational School students managed to answer correctly, this reflects their deep understanding of the use of accounting programs in inputting company transactions, especially cash and bank transactions. These results provide evidence of the program's effectiveness in encouraging the achievement of substantial learning outcomes among participating students. ABSTRAK Pendalaman materi penggunaan program akuntansi dalam menginput transaksi perusahaan, khususnya transaksi kas dan bank bagi murid siswa/i di SMK Kristen Rahmani sebagai bagian dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) sangat penting. Kegiatan ini melibatkan partisipasi aktif dari para dosen dan mahasiswa/i dari Universitas Tarumanagara dengan tujuan memberikan dampak positif pada ekosistem pendidikan di Indonesia. Program ini memberikan kontribusi besar dengan menyediakan pengetahuan tambahan tentang penggunaan program akuntansi dalam menginput transaksi perusahaan, khususnya transaksi kas dan bank. Penyampaian materi mengenai penggunaan program dan penginputan dilakukan secara langsung di SMK Kristen Rahmani pada tanggal 26 September 2024, dan dihadiri oleh 15 murid siswa/i SMK Kristen Rahmani. Signifikansi dari kegiatan ini terletak pada dua dampak utamanya, yaitu memberikan wawasan praktis tentang penggunaan program akuntansi dalam menginput transaksi kas dan bank perusahaan serta memperluas pemahaman umum siswa tentang program Accurate. Penguatan pemahaman terhadap materi ini diuji melalui kuis lisan yang diikuti oleh seluruh peserta dan hasilnya menunjukan sebanyak 80% siswa SMK Kristen Rahmani berhasil menjawab dengan benar. Hal tersebut mencerminkan pemahaman mendalam mereka mengenai penggunaan program akuntansi dalam menginput transaksi perusahaan, khususnya transaksi kas dan bank. Hasil ini menjadi bukti keefektifan program dalam mendorong pencapaian hasil belajar yang substansial di kalangan siswa yang berpartisipasi.

Abstract

The decline in the number of students choosing accounting majors at several universities in Indonesia is a serious concern, especially considering the importance of accounting in the world of business and economics. Accounting plays an essential role in preparing financial reports which are the basis for decision making for stakeholders, both internally and externally. However, at the high school level, as is the case at SMA Santo Kristoforus 1, students still find it difficult to understand basic accounting concepts, and one of them is general journals. This is due to limited learning time and material that is considered complicated by students. Therefore, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Tarumanagara University (Untar) is implementing a Community Service (PKM) program with the aim of providing teaching about general accounting journals to Santo Kristoforus 1 SMA students. Through interactive offline teaching methods and quiz games based on the Kahoot platform , this activity not only succeeded in attracting a little student interest, but also succeeded in deepening the students' understanding of basic accounting and general journals. The evaluation results showed that 50% of participants were able to answer the quiz questions correctly, indicating an increase in understanding, although not optimal. It is hoped that this PKM activity can be the first step in introducing accounting in a more interesting way and building students' interest in this field for further study in the future. ABSTRAK Penurunan jumlah mahasiswa yang memilih jurusan akuntansi di beberapa universitas di Indonesia menjadi perhatian serius, terutama mengingat pentingnya akuntansi dalam dunia bisnis dan ekonomi. Akuntansi memainkan peran esensial dalam penyusunan laporan keuangan yang menjadi dasar pengambilan keputusan bagi pemangku kepentingan, baik secara internal maupun eksternal. Namun, di tingkat SMA, seperti yang terjadi di SMA Santo Kristoforus 1, para siswa masih merasa kesulitan memahami konsep dasar akuntansi, dan salah satunya adalah jurnal umum. Hal ini disebabkan karena waktu pembelajaran yang terbatas dan materi yang dianggap rumit oleh para siswa-siswi. Oleh karena itu, Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) melaksanakan program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dengan tujuan memberikan pengajaran mengenai jurnal umum akuntansi kepada siswa-siswi SMA Santo Kristoforus 1. Melalui metode pengajaran luring yang interaktif dan permainan kuis berbasis platform Kahoot, kegiatan ini tidak hanya berhasil menarik sedikit minat siswa-siswi, tetapi juga berhasil memperdalam pemahaman siswa-siswi terkait akuntansi dasar dan jurnal umum. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 50% peserta mampu menjawab soal kuis dengan benar, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman walaupun belum optimal. Kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal yang positif dalam memperkenalkan akuntansi dengan cara yang lebih menarik dan membangun minat siswa dalam bidang ini untuk studi lanjutan di masa depan, serta meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya literasi keuangan.

Abstract

Every economic entity requires accounting in their operations. Accounting is a continuous cycle that repeats each period, producing financial statements that meet quality standards. One of the important documents prepared by a company is the financial statement, which reflects the company’s performance and financial position during a specific accounting period. Financial statements include the income statement, statement of changes in equity, statement of financial position, cash flow statement, and notes to the financial statements. These reports provide information about the entity's financial condition and performance, which are useful for various parties, such as creditors and investors, in making economic decisions. Additionally, financial statements serve as a form of accountability for management regarding the resources entrusted to them. As part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, this Community Service activity aims to benefit society, especially students of SMP Ricci 1, by enhancing their understanding of corporate financial statements. This training will focus on corporate financial statements and will take place over 80 minutes in a face-to-face session in August 2024. In this event, the PKM Untar team will start with an introduction to the material, followed by practice questions, and conclude with a Q&A session. It is expected that through this training, students will gain a better understanding of the importance of financial statements in a corporate context. ABSTRAK Setiap entitas ekonomi membutuhkan akuntansi dalam operasional mereka. Akuntansi adalah siklus berkelanjutan yang berulang setiap periode, menghasilkan laporan keuangan yang memenuhi standar kualitas. Salah satu dokumen penting yang dibuat perusahaan adalah laporan keuangan, yang menggambarkan kinerja dan posisi keuangan dalam satu periode akuntansi. Laporan keuangan mencakup laporan laba rugi, laporan perubahan modal atau ekuitas, laporan posisi keuangan, laporan arus kas, dan catatan atas laporan keuangan. Laporan ini memberikan informasi tentang kondisi keuangan dan kinerja entitas, yang bermanfaat bagi berbagai pihak seperti kreditor dan investor untuk pengambilan keputusan ekonomi. Selain itu, laporan keuangan juga merupakan bentuk pertanggungjawaban manajemen atas pengelolaan sumber daya yang dipercayakan kepada mereka. Sebagai bagian dari implementasi Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat, terutama siswa SMP Ricci 1, agar lebih memahami laporan keuangan perusahaan. Pelatihan ini berfokus pada laporan keuangan perusahaan dan berlangsung selama 80 menit dalam satu sesi tatap muka pada Agustus 2024. Dalam kegiatan ini, tim PKM Untar akan memulai dengan pengenalan materi, dilanjutkan dengan latihan soal, dan diakhiri dengan sesi tanya jawab. Diharapkan melalui pelatihan ini, siswa dapat memahami dengan lebih baik pentingnya laporan keuangan dalam konteks perusahaan.
