Abstract

The aim of this paper is to (1) explore the dynamics within the implementation of religious sermon in the culprit of Islamic Centers and Mosques in East Kalimantan, and (2) to assess how Da’is and board of Islamic Centers and Mosques contruct the concept of Ideal Da’wa thus what topics should be promoted and what topics should be avoided. Findings of this paper reveal that the implementation of religious sermons in Islamic Centers in East Kalimantan aims at representing the many mosques within the region where the Islamic Center stands. Islamic Center is suppose to play the role model of ideal mosque and every mosque in the region must revitalize its role and functions to become those of the Islamic Centers. However, Islamic Centers in East Kalimantan are not successful enough in representing the many mosques it claims to represent due to explicit rules on who can and cannot gives sermon in the culprit of those Islamic Centers.

Abstract

Kekerasan perempuan adalah salah satu topik yang masih hangat kerap dibicarakan dikalangan masyarakat. Hal ini disebabkan karena hampir seluruh pola pikir manusia masih berkutat pada perbedaan hak antar kaum laki-laki dan perempuan. Pola pikir ini kerap kali membuat pembagian kekuasaan yang timpang antara kaum laki-laki dibandingkan perempuan. Kenyataan ini kemudian menciptakan sebuah kondisi sosial yang tidak ideal dimana kekuasaan digunakan secara berlebihan oleh pihak laki-laki dalam memenuhi hak dari perempuan. Periaku inilah yang kemudian mendorong munculnya diskriminasi terhadap peremupuan yang menyebabkan merosotnya kemajuan perempuan. Opressi yang diterima perempuan selalu muncul baik dalam level mikro, mezzo, ataupun makro. Dalam lingkup structural, kultur hingga individu perilaku opressi kerap diterima perempuan terutama ketika mereka ingin bergerak di ranah publik. Skeptis lemah terhadap perempuan kerap kali dilabelkan dengan dali-dalil keagamaan yang mengingatkan tentang tugas utama perempuan dalam wilayah domestik. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang solusi pendidikan islam dalam melenyapkan kekerasan terhadap perempuan. Selain itu, artikel ini membahas bahwa kekerasan yang besifat gender adalah setiap kekerasan atau penderitaan perempuan dalam segi fisik maupun psikologis, termasuk seluruh ancaman-ancaman, perampasan maupun pemaksaan. Disisi lain, Islam sebagai agama Rahmatan Lill Alamin telah memberikan solusi terbaik atas pemenuhan kewajiban dan hak laki-laki dan perempuan. Beberapa kebijakan dalam Pendidikan Islam yang berkaitan dengan cerai, waris dan kewajiban menggunakan jilbab memiliki penafsiran yang luas sehingga tidak dapat serta merata dikatakan sebagai bentuk oppresi atau diskriminasi terhadap perempuan dalam Islam.

Abstract

The Covid-19 (Corona Virus Disease-19) outbreak has managed to change the patterns of social life on society, including the change regarding the way Da’wa is performed; from conventional direct Da’wa to mediated Da’wa through internet. This article aims at describing responses of the Da’is (proselytizers) in social media pertaining to the spread of the Covid-19. This article applied qualitative method to analyse Da’wa contents related to Covid-19 on social media. Data were collected through observation and documentation. Findings show that there are at least three types of responses from the Da’is; cognitive, affective, and behavioural responses.  Cognitive response is manifested in the form of delivering information regarding Covid-19 from the general and medical perspective such as promoting frequent hand-washing, maintaining good hygiene, obeying the government measurements, maintaining healthy level of gratitude and praying to God to be saved from the outbreak. Affective response is manifested in the form of promoting empathy, positive thinking, and avoiding panic. Behavioural response is manifested in the form of giving real-life example such as performing online congregation (pengajian online), wearing face mask, applying appropriate disinfection, and helping those heavily affected by the outbreak.Keywords: Covid-19, Dai, responses, and social media.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan menjelaskan peran parakonselor pada Unit Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak (PPA) Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Metode penelitian menggunakan paradigma kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomelogi. Sedangkan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parakonselor dalam penanganan krisis pada klien, memainkan peran (1) sebagai broker, yaitu parakonselor menjadi penghubung antara klien dengan sumber penyedia layanan yang diperlukan klien. (2) menjalankan fungsi referal, yaitu merujuk klien kepada penyedia layanan. (3) sebagai manager kasus, yaitu mengatur penyelesaian masalah dengan berbagai ketentuan yang ada. Penelitian ini diharapkan berdampak terhadap peran konselor secara ideal dalam semua unit dan tingkatan pada berbagai lembaga. This paper aims to explain the role of counselors in the Protection Unit for Women and Children (PPA) of East Kalimantan Province. The research method uses a qualitative paradigm with a phenomelogical approach. While data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that parakonselor in handling crisis on the client, played the role (1) as a broker, ie parakonselor became the liaison between the client and the source of service providers needed by the client. (2) carrying out the referral function, i.e. referring clients to service providers. (3) as case manager, i.e. arranging problem solving with various existing provisions. This research is expected to have an impact on the ideal role of counselors in all units and levels of various institutions.

Abstract

Menghafal teks-teks Al-Qur’an adalah salah satu perbuatan paling berharga, dan telah lama dianggap sebagai perwujudan dari gagasan menjaga agama. Pekerjaan menghafal Al Qur’an yang menguntungkan ditopang oleh manfaat material yang disediakan oleh masyarakat Muslim sehingga menciptakan interaksi yang dinamis antara motif profan dan sakral untuk ingatan (penghafal Al-Qur’an). Makalah ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi hubungan dinamis antara motif sakral dan profan dalam proses menghafal Al Qur’an di Kalimantan Timur dengan menjawab dua pertanyaan; (1) Apa faktor penentu utama yang mempengaruhi keputusan seseorang untuk menghafal Al Qur’an? (2) bagaimana haafiz penuh melihat upaya mereka dalam melakukan tugas-tugas seperti itu? Wawancara mendalam dilakukan untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait pertanyaan penelitian, sedangkan teknik kualitatif diterapkan untuk menganalisis data. Temuan riset menunjukkan bahwa faktor penentu utama untuk menghafal Al-Qur’an adalah kombinasi dari strata sosial yang tinggi yang dirasakan akan dinikmati oleh seorang haafiz jika mereka berhasil menyelesaikan tugasnya, dan adanya pengakuan masyarakat untuk strata tersebut dalam bentuk dukungan pemerintah bagi mereka. Pada haafiz yang secara penuh menghafal Al-Quran memandang upaya mereka untuk menghafal seluruh pasal Al- Quran sebagai tugas suci yang ditakdirkan oleh Tuhan sehingga perolehan materi dan pengakuan sosial yang mereka dapatkan saat melakukan tugas adalah perwujudan dari berkah Tuhan. Yang suci dan yang profan dalam konteks ini sedemikian cair di mana seringkali garis-garis demarkasi di antara yang sakral dan yang profan saling melampaui satu sama lain. Kata kunci: Menghafal al-Qur'an, hafiz, masyarakat muslim Memorizing texts of the Qur’an is one of the highest rewarding deeds, and it has long been perceived as a manifestation of the idea of guarding the religion. The rewarding job of memorizing the Qur’an is sustained by material benefit provided by the Muslim society thus creating a dynamic interaction between profane and sacred motives for the haafizhs (memorizer of the Qur’an). This paper aims at exploring the dynamic inter-relationship between sacred and profane motives in the process of memorization of the Qur’an in East Kalimantan by answering twofold questions; (1) What are the main determinant factors affecting the decision to memorize the Qur'an? (2) how full-fledged haafizhs see their efforts in doing such tasks? In-depth interviews were undertaken to get information related to the research questions, while qualitative technique is applied to analyse the data. Findings reveal that the main determinant factor for the Qur’anic memorization is a combination of perceived high social stratum the haafizh would enjoy should they manage to complete the task, and the society’s recognition for such stratum in the form of government supports for them. Full-fledge haafizhs of the Qur’an perceive their effort to memorize the whole chapter of the Qur’an as a sacred duty ordained by God thus material gains and social recognitions they get while doing the task are the manifestation of God’s blessings. The sacred and the profane in this context is fluid that in most of the times the demarcation lines of the sacred and the profane transgress each other’s. Abstract

In the developing countries, social services for people with disability (PwD) are still limited and responsibility for the development of chil- dren with disability is often associated with their parent/s. The children with special needs, including those with autism, impacts all members of his/her family and leads to the emergence of crisis experiences in the family. The article talks the resiliency of parent/s with autistic chil- dren in Palembang Terapi Center. This paper is written with a phenom- enological approach. Findings show that dominant themes emerged regarding resiliency in this paper setting are self-acceptance, self-ef- ficacy, and adaptation. Several factors that influence the resilience of parents with autistic children are individual abilities, children’s con- ditions, environment, and religious values. Moreover, there are three types of resiliencies according to the level of difficulty experienced by parent/s; high level of difficulty, moderate level of difficulty, and lower level of difficulty. Di negara berkembang, keterbatasan layanan sosial bagi penyandang disabilitas dan tanggung jawab atas tumbuh kembang anak penyandang disabilitas seringkali dikaitkan dengan orang tua. Keberadaan anak berkebutuhan khusus, termasuk anak dengan autisme berdampak pada seluruh anggota keluarga dan berujung pada kemuncul pengalaman krisis keluarga. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi resiliensi orang tua yang memiliki anak dengan autisme di Pusat Terapi Palembang. Artikel ini ditulis dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Temuan menunjukkan tema terkait resiliensi dalam penerimaan diri, efikasi diri, dan adaptasi. Temuan lain adalah faktor yang mempengaruhi resiliensi orang tua yang memiliki anak autisme dengan kemampuan individu, kondisi anak, lingkungan, dan nilai agama. Selain itu, ada tiga jenis resiliensi menurut tingkat kesulitan yang dialami orang tua; tingkat kesulitan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah.

Abstract

The caregiving experience of parents of children with special needs (CSN) can be challenging and can lead to significant stress and negative impacts on mental health. To address this issue, a community service activity was implemented to provide positive self-talk training to 25 parents of CSN who are members of the Indonesian Special Family Forum (FORKESI) in South Sumatra. The training was conducted online using the Zoom Meeting platform and employed the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The results of the community service indicated that the average stress levels of the participants decreased after participating in the training. Additionally, participants reported feeling more grateful for the condition of their children, more accepting of their children's condition, and having more open minds. These findings suggest that positive self-talk training is an effective strategy for reducing stress in parents of children with special needs and may have broader implications for supporting caregivers in the community.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the experiences of sexual harassment victims in accessing counseling services at higher education institutions in Samarinda. The research addresses a gap in the literature, as most previous studies have focused more on the legal, sociological, and psychological aspects of sexual harassment but have not deeply explored the experiences of victims in accessing counseling services at the university level. This qualitative phenomenological research employed the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. The participants consisted of four sexual harassment victims from two universities, one public and one religious-based institution. The findings of this study identified three main barriers. First, a lack of information regarding the counseling services available on campus led to delays in seeking help by the victims. Second, feelings of shame prevented victims from accessing counseling services as they were reluctant to share their traumatic experiences. This sense of shame was often exacerbated by fear of being blamed or perceived as overreacting by others, causing victims to keep their experiences to themselves. Third, the fear of social and academic stigma, including concerns about negative judgment from peers and lecturers, particularly if the perpetrator was a faculty member, became a significant obstacle for victims seeking help. Some victims even expressed concerns about the impact on their academic achievements if the incident became public. The study emphasizes the importance of policies that ensure easy access and clear information about counseling services, as well as efforts to reduce stigma, to encourage victims to seek help.
