Abstract

This devotion is intended to provide the solution for society on the coast especially mangrove forests. We intend to solve the problem without any troubles that could impact the ecosystem by giving insight into how important the empowerment of mangrove, hence the development of mangrove ecotourism could be established properly. As time passed, we realized that Kalembak is more focusing on their mangrove?s program. Therefore, this fact could lead to an overpopulation of mosquito. They did admit that when evening, the mosquito just flocks around them. We decided to give an alternative for their problem, which is handmade organic mosquito repellent.  The methods are implemented using three-technique, which is preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Our product, which is made from organic materials such as brown sugar and yeast as a substitute of dangerous chemical products that could be found inside the typical mosquito repellent. The product is made from a mixture of brown sugar and yeast that could lead a fermentation, which will generate carbon dioxide that attracts the mosquitos. Hence lead to a fact that the more carbon dioxide around, the more mosquito around.

Abstract

One of the efforts to preserve Indonesian culture and heritage is through cultural tourism parks. Therefore, the existence of a cultural tourism park is very important because it has Indonesian cultural values. The problem currently faced by Indonesia, especially Malang City, East Java, is the number of new modern tourism parks that make cultural tourism parks less attractive. The rise number of modern tourism parks in Malang has reached 100% in the last 5 years, while there has been no addition of cultural parks in Malang. As what happened at the Senaputra Cultural Tourism Park, Malang that is famous as a park that preserves traditional culture, especially East Java culture. In the glorious era of Taman Senaputra in 1980s, traditional East Javanese dances and wayangkulit performances were often held. The research method used quantitative and qualitative research. First, through observation to determine the factual conditions of the research area using walkthrough analysis techniques. Second, through questionnaires to find out communities perceptions of preferences between modern parks compared to cultural parks and to find out the communities perception of the Senaputra cultural park main problems. The results of the questionnaire were processed using SPSS and analyzed using a linkert scale to determine the priority scale of main problems. The results of this study showing people preferences and perception index score of modern park 82.04% and cultural park 17.96%. The main problem of less preferences index score of cultural park is due to of the irregular landscape arrangement of the cultural park and does not have the characteristics of Javanese culture as a cultural park and author observation’s resulted that this park also lacks of maintenance and most of park elements are damaged, so there is a need for design directions from the landscape side which has the character of Javanese culture in an effort to revive (revitalize) the cultural tourism park so that it is again in demand and cultural values as the national identity are not forgotten and lost DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/lw.v13i1.4770

Abstract

The groin is a building construction located on the shore with an orientation that points perpendicularly to the sea. The function of the groin is as a barrier from sediments that move along the coastline and a medium for wave dampening. Changes in coastal areas caused by nature or normal marine activities make coastal areas need to be considered more deeply. The groin construction process that does not apply structural and architectural science or analysis causes the building to be unstable and easily destroyed by large waves. The decline of the coastline in Kampung Tua Nongsa from 1995 to 2022 as far as 30 meters resulted in residential settlements experiencing continuous land shifts. The research method uses descriptive qualitative through interview, observation, and documentation approaches. This research aims to obtain the results of the effectiveness of groins on the coast of Kampung Tua Nongsa by looking at the distribution pattern, structure, material, and architecture. The research results show that groins that are effective for the beach conditions of Kampung Tua Nongsa should be natural stone material with groin lengths of 50 cm - 60 cm and groin heights between 0.5 - 1.0 m.

Abstract

Abstract

Esports activities are developing very rapidly, encouraging the people’s desire to build its distinctive building, an esports arena to support its activity. However, there is no specific spatial form for planning the main room’s interior of esports arena, especially in coastal areas. The absence of guidelines to be applied can lead to less ergonomic spatial planning. This research applies the mixed descriptive method by collecting primary data of questionnaire and secondary data of existing buildings from any official information source as the object of research analysis. With digital information source, source triangulation method is used to identify an ergonomic layout and furniture form to be used by the player and audience within the esports arena building in the coastal zone. The result of this study provides an overview of ergonomic layout and furniture form that can be applied to planning the coastal esports arena building.

Abstract

Climate change is a serious problem that poses a serious threat to all people on earth. As is well known, the increasing phenomenon of global warming has led to climate change, which negatively affects all aspects of human life. As a response to these global threats, in 2015, world leaders agreed on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs cover many aspects of life, especially education, health, gender equality and combating climate change. traditional education approaches tend to fail in engaging diverse audiences, leaving the individuals feeling disconnected from climate change realities. Video games have become effective learning tools in a variety of educational contexts. The use of games in education, known as game-based learning, leverages the engaging and interactive nature of games to enhance the educational experience. Documentary films about video games can be used to teach different aspects of sustainability and climate change in an interactive and fun way. The method employed in this research is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). This method was selected and utilized in the design process of the documentary video film because it involves multimedia elements such as text, images, videos, and animations, making it suitable for processing using this approach. The video provided allows people to develop their understanding deeper from various learning resources. When people provided various resources, especially students, they are able to enrich their understanding. However, ongoing research into the long-term impacts of multimedia on learning outcomes is crucial. Understanding how multimedia influences attitudes and behaviors over time can inform future educational strategies and game designs. Through the act of examining the effectiveness of different multimedia elements, educators and developers can create increasingly effective tools that resonate with learners and drive positive change.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: Settlement patterns in an area can change due to population growth and activity from year to year, thereby increasing the need for housing. The increased need for housing has caused local residents to build buildings without regard to initial land boundaries / initial house plots, so that building compaction occurs. As a result of building compaction can change the pattern of settlements and even create new patterns of settlement in the area. Knowing changes in patterns and the existence of new patterns is very necessary, especially for local governments as material for study in making regulations / policies. This case occurred in Surabaya Peneleh Village, which used to have settlements on the riverbank transformed into an area that had an elongated pattern following the street network and clustered pattern due to compaction of buildings.
