Abstract

The birth of twin goats needs to be prepared and supported by paying attention to the genetic characteristics and environment of the goats, especially the management of animal feed, especially the nutrition of pregnant animal feed, where it is important to increase the quantity and quality of feed. The stages in this service include observation, planning, follow-up and evaluation. The training implementation method is lecture and direct practice, question and answer method and discussion. The results of community service activities in Ombe Baru Village showed that of the 40 goat breeders in Ombe Baru Village, the majority (70% of breeders) were able to select twin and single type goat breeds, were able to improve their feeding management and were able to understand the criteria for high nutritional feed, the concept of feeding according to the needs of the livestock as well as feed requirements to increase the reproduction of goats with twins. It is hoped that breeders will continue to be committed to maintaining the sustainability of twin goat farming, continuing to improve feeding management such as providing superior forages and high nutritional feed, especially for goats with twins.

Abstract

Livestock-based tourism villages are one option in developing village potential. Apart from being a significant source of income for local communities, it is also able to develop the agricultural and livestock sectors, able to improve the local economy and create jobs for its residents. Tourists who visit villages not only have a direct economic impact obtained from visiting fees and purchasing local products, but can also strengthen small and medium businesses operating around the village. Batu Kuta Village, West Lombok has a village land area of ​​around 40,000 m2 which is called Kebon doe, which is currently a garden area planted with coconut and fruit plants which are no longer productive and have potential, so community service (PKM) is very necessary, related to the preparation of appropriate structuring and management strategies through the preparation of concepts and models for livestock-based tourism villages. The PKM method is implemented using the methods of observation, planning, implementation, follow-up, evaluation and mentoring. Mapping of village potential, preparation of concepts and models for the livestock-based Batu Kuta tourism village were carried out in coordination with the village government and local community. The concept and model of a livestock-based tourism village has the potential to be adopted and realized in Batu Kuta Village. Achievement of the objectives of this PKM activity reached 100% and 98% of participants were satisfied with the overall activity. Evaluation is carried out during the process and at the end of the activity, as well as giving questionnaires to participants. The role of all parties, especially youth organizations, Pokdarwis members, village government and the community as well as assistance from practitioners and academics, is expected to continue to actively participate and be communicative and cooperate with each other in facing concerns and challenges regarding the sustainability of the development of livestock-based tourism villages.

Abstract

Kajian pemanfaatan hasil sampingan biogas dari kotoran sapi (bio-slurry) sebagai pupuk organik di Desa Batu Kuta Lombok Barat bertujuan untuk mengintroduksikan pupuk organik yang memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi yaitu unsur hara makro dan mikro yang dapat digunakan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi pertumbuhan tanaman, sehingga petani peternak di Desa Batu Kuta Lombok Barat mampu meminimalisir biaya pembelian pupuk kimia yang tidak ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua tahapan yaitu tahap pertama adalah pengujian kandungan unsur hara makro dan mikro yang terdapat pada Bio-Slurry padat dan cair, dan tahap kedua yaitu penentuan kandungan unsur hara tertinggi yang terdapat dalam Bio-Slurry padat maupun cair. Sampel bioslurry diuji berupa Bio-Slurry padat dan cair dianalisa di Laboratorium Pengujian BPTP NTB dan Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Universitas Mataram. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan unsur hara makro yang terdapat didalam Bio-Slurry padat dan cair masing-masing sebesar:  N-Total (ppm) = 0,54% dan 0,17%; P2O5 (ppm) = 0,74% dan 0,05%, K2O (ppm) =  0,96% dan 1,09%; Ca Total (ppm) = 0,15% dan 0,009%; dan Mg Total (ppm) = 0,57% dan 0,01%. Sedangkan unsur hara mikro masing-masing sebesar: Na Total (ppm) = 0,18% dan = 0,08 %; Fe Total  (ppm) = 0,49% dan 0,009 %; Mn Total (ppm) = 0,08 % dan 0,0001%; Zn Total (ppm) = 0,02 % dan 0,003 %; dan Cu Total (ppm) = 0,002% dan 0,0002 %. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian tersebut, kandungan unsur hara pada Bio-Slurry padat lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada Bio-Slurry cair sehingga lebih menguntungkan jika dijadikan sebagai pupuk organik. Solusi pupuk organik ini, sangat membantu dalam budidaya tanaman jagung dan kedelai di Desa Batu Kuta Lombok Barat. Saran yang dapat diajukan dari hasil kegiatan ini bagi masyarakat desa Batu Kuta, perlunya pendampingan dalam memulai usaha atau bisnis pupuk organik Bio-Slurry.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Al Muwahidin Desa Lelede Kecamatan Banyumulek merupakan salah satu diantara ribuan ponpes yang ada di NTB. Ponpes ini memilki potensi yang dapat dikelola untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang ada saat ini. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra : belum banyak pendidikan lifeskill untuk para santri, Permasalahan lain yang dihadapi mitra adalah keterbatasan dana untuk pengelolaan pondok termasuk sumber makanan sehari-hari warga ponpes. Berdasarkan hal tersebut solusi akan permasalahan mitra tertuang dalam tujuan kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah mengajarkan santri ketrampilan pemanfaatan limbah jerami padi yang melimpah untuk memproduksi jamur merang yang siap dikomersilkan. Metode yang digunakan oleh Tim PKM ini meliputi penyuluhan dan pelatihan/workshop pembuatan jamur merang dari limbah jerami padi, demplot budidaya. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM yang dilakukan, ada beberapa hasil perubahan keadaan yang telah sudah nampak di pondok pesantren diantaranya sudah ada kumbung jamur merang ukuran 5x7x9 m, Sudah melakukan produksi pertama sebanyak 34, 548 kg dan sudah menghasilkan uang sebanyak Rp. 1.554.660,-, para santri terlihat semangat dalam melaksanakan seluruh kegiatan dan berharap kedepan bisa melakukan budidaya jamur merang ini secara mandiri. Dengan adanya produksi jamur ini, secara langsung dapat mengatasi permasalahan yang dialami pondok pesantren, pengelola ponpes mendapatkan sumber pendanaan untuk tambahan operasional ponpes, selain itu para santri mendapatkan tambahan life skill dan sumber gizi bagi warga ponpes.

Abstract

This study aims to select female goats that have the potential to give birth to triplets.  The analysis was carried out in four EC goats with triplets consisting of 12 twins and four single births. FSH and LH hormones were analyzed using the ELISA method (LIA kit). The t-test results showed that the average body size of single-born EC goats was significantly different (P0.05) in body weight (BW), chest circumference (CC), hip height (HH), and hip width (HW). The size of BW, CC, HH and HW were larger in the triplet than in the single birth type, with a ratio of BW (40.83±10.10 vs. 37.20±4.67) kg, CC (84.00±3,46 vs. 78.05±4.24) cm, HH (72.70±3.21vs 67.50±3.12) cm and HW (17.74±2.09 vs. 11.16±2.12) cm. Furthermore, there was a significant difference (P≤0.05) between the ages of single-born EC goats, which was higher than that of triplets, namely 4.20±1.41 vs. 1.67±1.03 (months). This had a significant effect (P≤0.05) on the body size, especially on the BW, BL, BH and HH. EC goats with twin birth types had significantly higher FSH hormone levels than those with single births, namely FSH (3.41±0.08 vs1.37±0.08) mlU/ml. In contrast, the EC goat kids did not show a significant difference.  Conclusion: Goats selection with the potential to give birth to triplets can be detected from hip size and FSH levels in their blood which correlate positively with body weight and chest circumference measurements.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify female goats with the potential to give birth to triplets by examining morphological characteristics correlated with FSH and LH hormone levels in the blood. It included four triplet-bearing Boer goats and four triplet-bearing Etawah grade goats, each with 12 kids, and four single-bearing Boer goats and four single-bearing Etawah grade goats, each with four kids. Morphological indices of body sizes, including weight, height slope, length index, width slope, depth index, foreleg length, and hormone levels, were observed. A t-test and descriptive analysis were conducted. The average body size of Boer goats was larger than Etawah grade goats, but there were no significant morphological differences between triplet-bearing Boer and Etawah grade goats. However, single-bearing Boer goats had a significantly higher height slope than single-bearing Etawah grade goats. FSH levels significantly increased in the blood of triplet-bearing Boer goats compared to single-bearing Boer goats. Morphological indices and hormone levels can help select goats likely to give birth to triplets.

Abstract

Ketergantungan Indonesia terhadap impor daging sapi dan sapi bakalan masih tinggi, yang menghambat pencapaian Program Swasembada Daging Sapi Nasional. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, peternak di Nusa Tenggara Barat melaporkan kejadian alami kelahiran kembar pada sapi Bali, yang secara biologis merupakan spesies uniparous. Fenomena ini membuka peluang untuk meningkatkan populasi dan produktivitas sapi potong, namun data ilmiah mengenai dampaknya terhadap performa induk dan anak masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap potensi kelahiran kembar alami pada sapi Bali melalui pendekatan strategi pakan inovatif dan manajemen reproduksi yang tepat. Penelitian dilaksanakan di tiga kabupaten di Pulau Lombok, yaitu Lombok Tengah, Lombok Barat, dan Lombok Utara, dengan total 80 ekor sapi Bali yang terbagi dalam empat kelompok: induk beranak kembar (BK), anak kembar (AK), induk beranak tunggal (BT), dan anak tunggal (AT). Selama enam bulan, variabel yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, bobot badan, dan kadar hormon FSH dan LH dalam darah. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi nutrien induk sapi masih di bawah kebutuhan optimal, dengan protein kasar 9,2% (BK) dan 9,0% (BT), serta TDN sekitar 55%. Induk BK mengalami penurunan bobot badan signifikan (P0,01), namun menunjukkan peningkatan kadar hormon FSH (0,46±0,08 mIU/mL) dan LH (0,13±0,12 mIU/mL) dibandingkan BT (FSH = 0,38±0,06; LH = 0,12±0,09). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelahiran kembar pada sapi Bali berpotensi meningkatkan efisiensi reproduksi induk dan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai salah satu strategi inovatif untuk meningkatkan pendapatan peternak serta mendukung swasembada daging nasional.
