Abstract

Ma?mûd Abû Rayyah comes to the study of ?adîth as a controversial scholar. His criticism has made a significant change in modern period in which his critics are directed towards some literatures and early ?adîth scholars (râwî). One of the making polemic in his study is his critical study on the authenticity of ?adîth in Bukhârî?s book, ?ahî? Bukhârî. It is not only Bukhârî whom his critics are pointed out, but also Abû Hurayrah, a person who has narrated so many ?adîth and become the most cited name in ?adîth literatures. This paper would shed light on the epistemological view of Abû Rayyah in ?adîth criticism. It highlights three branches of ?adîth studies: authenticity, reliability and historical analysis. This study suggests that Abû Rayyah put al-sunnah al-hudâ (a living tradition of Mu?ammad which is related to ?aqîdah and sharî?ah) as a main tool for validity to determine the authenticity of ?adîth. In this case, every ?adîth which contradicts to this value should be rejected. Further he said that ?adîth codification did not take place in the period prior to al-Zuhrî. The political pressure is one of the reasons why al-Zuhrî and other Muslims are militant to write and collect Mu?ammad traditions of ?adîth.

Abstract

This article discusses the progressive interpretation of the ahkam hadith in MUI Fatwa Number 83 of 2023 which relates to the law of support for the Palestinian struggle, with an emphasis on its relation to the boycott of products that support Israel. The main focus of this research is an in-depth and critical exploration of the relevance of certain hadiths in the context of the Palestinian struggle, as well as their application to the boycott policy as a form of solidarity action. This article adopts the perspective of Abdullah Saeed's progressive interpretation of listening to the hadiths that were used as the basis for the MUI fatwa. The method used in this article is a qualitative method with a hadith ahkam and an ethical-legal approach. The data collection technique is a literature study in the form of a study of hadith, journal articles, books related to law, ethics, and hadith ahkam regarding fatwas. The results of this study provide deep insights into the relevance of ahkam traditions in supporting the Palestinian cause in the context of boycotts. Progressive thinking on these traditions is integrated with arguments to strengthen boycotts in response to human rights violations and economic policies that support Israeli occupation. The article also discusses the potential impact of the boycott, both from an economic point of view and as a political instrument that can exert international pressure. Thus, this article not only attempts to detail the progressive interpretation of hadith ahkam in MUI Fatwa No. 83 of 2023 but also critically relates it to the boycott strategy, contributing to progressive Islamic literature and Islamic law studies in viewing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Abstract

This research examines the hidden intentions of Chinese Muslim diversity in the Kediri Residency. The Kediri Chinese Muslims are theologically unique in their social-religious affiliation and religious motives. This study aims to explore the religious practices of the Chinese Muslims in Kediri, their theological features, fiqh references, interpretations, and political affiliations so that the theological characteristics of Chinese Muslims can be identified clearly. This research uses Paul Ricoeur's Critical Phenomenology approach with reflective analysis as the main feature to dissect the intention of awareness of the direction of their religion. The result of this research is that the style of appreciation practiced by Chinese Ethnic Muslims is more directed toward the practical life of religion. PITI provides a space for community-based expression, while Cheng Ho symbolizes unifying the Chinese Muslim ethnicity in Kediri. The spiritual practices carried out are more representative of Sharia and community-based social interactions, paying little attention to the realm of Sufism or Philosophy. The existence of the Chinese Muslim Ethnicity for a long time has significantly impacted the political situation in favor of Indonesia. At the same time, religious affiliation has also significantly impacted the community so that it has a more expansive religious space.

Abstract

Abstract: The 2013 curriculum, aimed at encouraging learners, is better able to observe, ask, reason, and communicate (present), what they gain or know after receiving learning materials. Research focus: 1) How is the implementation of Curriculum 2013 in Kediri City? and 2) How is the Problem faced by Islamic Religious Education Teachers (PAI) in Implementing the 2013 Curriculum in Kediri City? The results of this study revealed that: 1) Implementation of Curriculum 2013 in Kediri City has not run maximally there are still shortcomings that must be improved for example, mentoring in implementation is very less. 2) Problematic Teachers PAI, among others, have difficulty in implementing learning, due to lack of understanding of teachers about the Curriculum 2013 with the concept of learning Curriculum 2013, the delay of procurement training for teachers, especially teachers PAI about the curriculum 2013, and so on Insufficient facilities and infrastructure in supporting the implementation of Curriculum 2013 in some of the existing in Kediri, thus hindering the implementation of the applied curriculum. Abstrak: Kurikulum 2013, bertujuan mendorong peserta didik, mampu lebih baik dalam melakukan observasi, bertanya, bernalar, dan mengkomunikasikan (mempresentasikan), apa yang mereka peroleh atau mereka ketahui setelah menerima materi pembelajaran. Fokus penelitian: 1) Bagaimana implementasi Kurikulum 2013 di Kota Kediri? dan 2) Bagaimana Problematika yang dihadapi Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam Mengimplementasikan Kurikulum 2013 di Kota Kediri ? Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa: 1) Implementasi Kurikulum 2013 di Kota Kediri belum berjalan dengan maksimal masih ada kekurangan-kekurangan yang harus di perbaiki contohnya saja pendampingan dalam implementasi itu sangat kurang. 2) Problematika Guru PAI antara lain mengalami kesulitan dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran, karena kurangnya pemahaman guru tentang Kurikulum 2013 dengan konsep pembelajaran Kurikulum 2013, keterlambatan pengadaan pelatihan bagi guru-guru, khususnya guru PAI tentang kurikulum 2013, dan sebagainya terakhir Sarana dan prasarana yang kurang memadai dalam menunjang pelaksanaan Kurikulum 2013 di beberapa yang ada di Kota Kediri, sehingga menghambat pelaksanaan kurikulum yang diterapkan.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to find out the usage of expressions for improving speaking skill in teaching Arabic for students in the Islamic Junior High School 2 Kediri, and to know the effectiveness of it. The approach used for this research was a quantitative approach. As for the research method, it was the experimental method. The population in this research was the students in the Islamic Junior High School 2 Kediri in the 8th grade "A" with a total of 35 students. Then the researcher divided into two groups, namely the control group and the experimental group. The number of students in the control group was fifteen and twenty students were in the experimental group. The results of this research was T = 14,600 and sig (p) = 0,000, 0,505. H0 = Payback and H1 = Acceptable. So there was a difference between using expressions before and after. In other words, the application of expressions for improving speaking skill is useful for facilitating daily communication between students.

Abstract

The story of prophet Ayyub is a piece of the story of the prophets who were tested by God with a very powerful test, namely with an illness that did not heal, lost his children and property, lived away from society. With Wilhelm Dilthey's hermeneutic approach, there are three stages in analyzing, namely, Erlebnis (inner experience), Ausdruck (expression) and Verstehen (understanding). In applying Wilhelm Dilthey's three stages of analysis to the study of Q.S Al-Anbiya' verses 83-84, namely, wanting to know the deep meaning and lessons contained in the verse. In this study the author found that the erlebnis is the experience of Prophet Ayyub with the pain and trials that forged his life. The Ausdruck is that the prayer of prophet Ayyub is an expression of faith and hope for help from God. then Verstehen (understanding) that we can take from the story of prophet Ayyub is that a test is part of human life that must be faced with patience and faith in God. then we must believe that God always hears the prayers of His earnest servants. this illustrates the compassion and power of the Great God. The wisdom that can be taken from the story of Prophet Ayyub and we apply it today is like being patient when facing trials, always being istiqamah in worship, trusting in Allah, and always being grateful in everything.

Abstract

The existence of the Sunnah as an authoritative source after the Qur'an is accepted by the majority of Muslims both from Sunni, Shi'ah and other Islamic schools. Ironically, the authoritative Sunnah is viewed disproportionately by a group of Muslim outsiders and insiders. On the insider side, Mahmud Abu Rayah re-reads and delegitimizes the authority of Sunnah Qauliyyah as the second source of Islamic law by positioning the Qur'an as the first source, while Sunnah 'Amaliyyah is the second source. This paper aims to further examine Abu Rayah's delegitimization of Sunnah Qawliyyah and its polemics among Hadith scholars. This research is a Library Research with Qualitative approach and Historical and Text Study methods. The result of the research is that Mahmud Abu Rayah's perspective of Sunnah 'Amaliyyah has higher authority than Sunnah Qawliyyah. Sunnah Qawliyyah does not have the same authority as the Qur'an or Sunnah Amaliyyah. The implication is the rejection of the kutub hadith and kutub al-fiqh products of the kutub hadith.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of the traditions classified as ḥasan in Sunan Al-Tirmidzi's Al-Jami' Al-Ṣaḥīh, a topic that has attracted considerable attention among ḥadīth scholars. Using a literature review methodology combined with a qualitative approach, this study has not only discovered a new qualification for assessing the quality of traditions in Abū Isa Al-Tirmidzi's Al-Jami’ Al-Ṣaḥīh, referred to as ḥasan ṣaḥīh traditions but also expanded its scope beyond the existing findings. This research has revealed that the emergence of the ḥasan ḥadīth has prompted strong scholarly engagement, signalling the ever-evolving nature of ḥadīth studies. This evolution requires researchers to always be ready to re-evaluate classical texts, encourages continuous exploration of new perspectives and promotes acceptance of the potential for new classifications to emerge within the field. Furthermore, this study has illustrated Al-Tirmidzi's pioneering efforts to reshape the categorisation of ḥadīth. More than simply introducing the ṣaḥīh ḥadīth, Al-Tirmidzi cleverly combined this classification with other existing categories, including the ṣaḥīh gharib ḥadīth and the ṣaḥīh gharib ḥadīth thus enriching the intricacies of ḥadīth classification methodology. The implications of this innovative approach go beyond Al-Tirmidzi's work and affect the broader landscape of ḥadīth scholarship. Moreover, the findings of this study have substantial legal ramifications in Islamic jurisprudence. The revelation that certain traditions classified as ḥasan have the status of ṣaḥīh implies that these texts can serve as a valid legal basis despite their initially inferior category. This discovery underscores the dynamic interaction between ḥadīth scholarship and Islamic jurisprudence, where ḥadīth classification has a real impact on the legal framework of faith. In sum, this study underscores the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of the field of ḥadīth studies as well as the important role played by scholars such as Al-Tirmidzi in reshaping the classification. It emphasises the need for constant exploration of classical texts and readiness to adapt to evolving perspectives to ensure that the field remains at the forefront of Islamic scholarship and jurisprudence.

Abstract

QS material. Al-Hujurat/ 49: 13 is an aspect of Al-Qur'an Hadith. In general, Al-Qur'an Hadith material is learned by students by listening to teacher lectures. Facing conditions like this, the author is interested in conducting classroom action research to find a way or learning technique supported by learning media so that students can be active involved and can improve their learning outcomes. Thus, the research this time the author took the title of improving the learning outcomes of fourth grade students towards understanding the material QS. Al-Hujurat/ 49: 13 through the Make a Match Method at SDN 23 Tulang Bawang Tengah. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes so as to improve student abilities and creativity by using fun learning methods (cooperative learning). The form of research used is classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The instruments used in this research is a questionnaire of student learning outcomes. The results of this class action research is expected to have a positive impact on classroom learning, especially Islamic Religious Education subjects in the elements of Al-Qur'an Hadith, especially the material of Let's Recite and Study QS.
