Abstract

Background: Elementary school students have unique characteristics. Each child has their ways of doing their activities. In its activities, of course, there are risks, especially in the lower extremities, namely flat foot, which is the condition of the medial arch treading with the ground or flat due to emphasis on the medial part, excessive or over foot conditions will result in an increase in valgus shape in the knee joint; thus the degree of quadriceps angle (Q-angle) can increase. This study aims to determine the relationship between flat foot and Q-angle in elementary school children in Kusamba Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between flat feet and Q-angle. Methods: Observational analytical cross-sectional design that uses simple random sampling techniques with a sample of 51 people according to predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected with a wet footprint test and Clark's angle to find a flat foot and Q-angle with a 360o goniometer. Results: The analysis test results obtained a result of p=0.000 (p<0.05), so it can be explained that there is a significant relationship between flat foot and Q-angle. The results of the spearmen-rho analysis obtained a moderate relationship with the value of the correlation coefficient on the right flat foot with a right Q-angle of 0.527 and the left flat foot with a left Q-angle of 0.597 which means the direction of the relationship is unidirectional. Conclusion: Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that there is a moderate, unidirectional, and meaningful relationship between flat foot and Q-angle in elementary school children in Kusamba Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia has a large workforce and frequent work accidents. The work of woodcarving artisans in Ubud village has a high risk of accidents. Neck pain is a common problem these artisans face due to static movements, vibrations, and excessive physical activity. Ergonomics in the work environment is the key to preventing pain and fatigue, but non-ergonomic working positions often occur in wood artisans. Therefore, this study aims to explore the relationship between rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) analysis, physical activity, and complaints of neck pain among woodcarvers. Methods: This type of research is an analytic observational with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique is total sampling. The number of subjects obtained is 31 people according to predetermined criteria. The instruments used were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) questionnaire to measure physical activity levels, the RULA form to assess work position, and the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) questionnaire to measure complaints of neck pain. This study used two techniques, namely univariate and bivariate analysis, using the SPSS program. Results: Based on bivariate analysis using Spearman’s rho non-parametric method on 31 respondents, a significant correlation was found between RULA analysis and complaints of neck pain with a correlation coefficient of 0.55 and also found that there is a significant relationship between physical activity and complaints of neck pain with a correlation coefficient of 0.83. Conclusion: There is a relationship between RULA analysis and complaints of neck pain in woodcarving craftsmen in Ubud Village and there is a relationship between physical activity and complaints of neck pain in complaints of neck pain in woodcarving craftsmen in Ubud Village.

Abstract

Background: Vertebral rotational deformity is a change in the structure and shape of the spine that can be seen when observed from the transverse plane. Abnormal body mass index can affect vertebral rotational deformity in adolescents with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. This study aimed to determine the relationship between body mass index and vertebral rotation deformity in adolescents with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Methods: The study used an observational analytic approach with a cross-sectional approach. The study used the sampling technique of simple random sampling and obtained 90 samples. Data was collected by measuring body mass index (BMI) and vertebral rotation deformity. BMI values were obtained by measuring body weight divided by square meters of height, while the Adam forward bending test measured the vertebral rotational deformity using a scoliometer. Results: Based on the Spearman Rho non-parametric analysis test, the p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) and the correlation coefficient r = 0.657, meaning it has a fairly strong correlation level. Conclusion: Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that there was a relationship between BMI and vertebral rotation deformity in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis.

Abstract

Background: Bali is a popular tourist destination because of its unique culture. One of its unique features is the Balinese dance, which is used to welcome guests, perform arts, and perform religious ceremonies. Many Balinese dancers experience generalized joint hypermobility (GJH) without realizing it, which may have a negative impact on them, especially if they have a problem of musculoskeletal pain. Methods: This research used an analytical observational design of a cross-sectional study. This study employed the sampling technique of purposive technique with a total sampling method. The inclusion criteria for this study were traditional Balinese dancers living in Denpasar city, female, aged 14-20, and having dancing experience more than 1 year. Exclusion criteria were subjects after surgery for fractures or other musculoskeletal injuries in the upper or lower extremities, subjects with signs of acute inflammation in the joints, and those unwilling to be research subjects. The number of samples was calculated using the lame show formula, and 85 samples were obtained. Data was collected by measuring GJH and musculoskeletal disorders using the Nordic body map questionnaire. Results: Based on the bivariate analysis test with Spearman's rho, p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) was obtained for the two independent variables with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.797. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between GJH and MSDs in the Balinese dancer population in Denpasar City.

Abstract

Background: This study aimed to examine the psychometric performance of the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities osteoarthritis index (WOMAC) version Indonesia used in pre-elderly and older adults in Indonesia with knee osteoarthritis and hip osteoarthritis. Methods: This study obtained samples from 124 pre-elderly and elderly individuals affected by knee and hip osteoarthritis in the Denpasar, Badung, and Gianyar areas to check the reliability and validity of the Indonesia WOMAC from Karsten et al. (2019). Knee and hip osteoarthritis were examined using the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) clinical criteria. Results: The Indonesian WOMAC was valid with a score of (0.809-0.964) for knee osteoarthritis, (0.870-0.982) for hip osteoarthritis, and (0.744-0.944) for knee osteoarthritis and hip osteoarthritis. It is reliable with Cronbach’s alpha score of (α = 0.992) for knee osteoarthritis, (α = 0.996) for hip osteoarthritis, and (α = 0.980) for knee osteoarthritis and hip osteoarthritis in pre-elderly and elderly patients. Conclusion: Based on the research results, the Indonesian WOMAC was valid and reliable for knee and hip osteoarthritis and is used in pre-elderly and elderly patients.
