Abstract

Abstract: Apocrine gland is one of the sweat glands in humans. This gland is considered as a gland that causes odor. Primary abnormalities in the apocrine glands are bromhidrosis and chromhidrosis. Bromhidrosis is a state of abnormal or offensive body odor due to the secretion of apocrine sweat glands lies in the armpit, scalp, soles of the feet, fingers, and genital. Chromhidrois is a fairly rare condition, characterized by the secretion of colored sweat from the pigmented apocrine glands that usually present in the armpits and face. In general, management of bromhidrosis and chromhidrosis including non-medicamentous, medica-mentous, and surgery shows satisfying result.

Abstract

Background: Facial aging is characterized by the decline and loss of skin structure. Poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) is a biopolymer and biodegradable injection material that functions as a collagen stimulator. This active ingredient works by stimulating the formation of skin collagen after interacting with the PLLA crystal component. The expected final result is an increase in the skin volume with the thickening and increased density of the skin layers due to collagen remodeling. At present, data on the application of PLLA for facial photorejuvenation remains limited. Case Illustration: Four patients aged 22-49 years old, with different severity of aging, underwent PLLA injection procedures. The active component was administered through injection with a dilution ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 for the cheeks and temporal area and without dilution for the forehead, smile lines, and chin area. After the injection, a gentle massage was performed, and the patient was instructed to self-massage every day. Each patient was evaluated on the twentieth day and underwent additional injection sessions up to two times. Discussion: All patients showed improvement as assessed using photography and the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) 20 days after the procedure. All patients were satisfied with the final result. There was no significant pain during the procedure. Conclusion: PLLA injection is a safe and effective procedure that stimulates the formation of new collagen adequately. Patient satisfaction with the treatment was excellent, and no complications were observed in all patients.

Abstract

Abstract

The use of ecobiology-based dermocosmetics containing Antalgicine™ can expedite the optimization of skin regeneration post-aesthetic procedures. The aim of this case study assess the clinical benefit of Antalgicine™ post-aesthetic procedures. Six patients were recruited into this case study which utilizes subjective and objective measurements. Antalgicine™ was applied using a split-face study method. Subjective evaluation is graded by patients using a 1-5 Likert scale, along with objective evaluation, was performed by a blinded dermatologist. Results showed an objective reduction in post-aesthetic procedure on day 7, namely 40% for microneedling, 32% for fractional radiofrequency, and 29% for picosecond laser, as well as subjective reductions in every post-aesthetic procedure sensation, specifically pain, pruritus, tightness, and burning sensation at 67%, 75%, 67%, 33% for microneedling, 71%, 67%, 67%, 50% for fractional radiofrequency, and 67%, 75%, 78%, 60% for picosecond laser, respectively. As a conclusion, Antalgicine™ can reduce post-aesthetic procedure effects for optimizing skin regeneration.

Abstract

Background: Facial rejuvenation has become a global trend in cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology to restore youthful skin. The combination of 1064 nm Q-Switched Neodymium:Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (QS Nd:YAG) laser and exosomes as a facial rejuvenation procedure restores youthfulness by increasing collagen and elastin. Case Illustration: This case series evaluated the effectiveness of 1064 nm QS Nd:YAG laser with and without human amniotic fluid stem cell-derived exosomes (hAFSC-exo) for facial rejuvenation in six adults aged 24–39 years with Fitzpatrick skin types III-IV. Participants were randomized to receive either laser treatment alone or combined with intradermal hAFSC-exo injections every two weeks for three sessions, with outcomes assessed through blinded objective and subjective evaluations. Objective assessments using a skin analyzer showed improvements for both groups, with consistently greater improvement in the combination therapy group. Meanwhile, subjective evaluations using the GAIS scale indicated that combination therapy recipients experienced “very much improved” outcomes, minimal side effects, and good overall tolerance. Discussion: Facial rejuvenation using 1064 nm QS Nd:YAG laser and hAFSC-exo was evaluated in this case series. Both treatments improved skin quality, but combination therapy demonstrated superior results. However, improvements in pigmentation were limited, and subjective assessments may have been influenced by response bias. The short follow-up period limited the evaluation of long-term skin changes; extended studies are warranted to assess sustained outcomes. Conclusion: Combination therapy of 1064 nm QS Nd:YAG laser and exosomes has a favorable result for facial rejuvenation.
