Abstract

Problems related to learning outcomes are common challenges that are often experienced by many students throughout the educational process of students. Some of the main causes of this problem include low understanding of concepts, weak learning motivation, use of inappropriate learning strategies, ineffective time management, and pressure or stress. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Canva-based learning videos in improving the learning outcomes of class X-A students on the material of lithosphere dynamics at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa Timur. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model combined with Canva-based interactive video media, two learning cycles were carried out to measure the development of student learning outcomes. The results of the data analysis showed that in cycle I, the average student achievement score was 73.07% which was included in the good category. After corrective actions were taken in cycle II, there was a significant increase with an average score reaching 83.23%, which was included in the very good or optimal category. These findings indicate that the use of Canva-based video media has been proven to be able to provide a positive contribution to improving students' understanding of concepts and learning outcomes in geography material, especially lithosphere dynamics.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education requires significant advancements in various aspects, including curriculum development, learning innovation, and the provision of educational facilities and infrastructure. One approach that is believed to enhance the quality of learning is the use of digital-based media. The use of engaging learning media, such as digital magazines, is thought to increase students' interest and understanding of the subject matter, including Geography, which is often considered less engaging. However, the impact of using digital magazine-based learning media on students' learning outcomes in Geography has not been extensively explored, creating a gap that needs to be addressed. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of using digital magazine-based learning media on students' learning outcomes in Geography, employing an experimental method. The subjects of this research were students from classes X IIS 1 and X IIS 2. The results show that the use of digital magazine media significantly affects students' learning outcomes. Based on the t-test data analysis, a significant difference was found between the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class and the control class, with the average improvement in the experimental class being 83.94, while the control class showed an improvement of only 76.97. The t-test revealed a t-value of 4.013, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.859 at the α = 5% significance level, thus the hypothesis is accepted. These findings suggest that using digital magazines can be an effective alternative to improve students' learning outcomes in Geography. This research opens up the possibility for the broader application of digital learning media across various subjects, contributing to the development of innovative teaching methods that are in line with current technological advancements

Abstract

Kota Utara Subdistrict is the largest rice-producing area in Gorontalo City, particularly in Wongkaditi Barat and Dulomo Utara Subdistricts. However, farmers in this area face various socio-economic challenges that result in incomes that do not match their expenditures. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach to examine the socioeconomic situation of farmers along with the elements that affect it Information was gathered via observation, interviews, and surveys from 60 farmers, then analyzed descriptively and spatially using ArcGIS tools. The results show that most farmers are of productive age, have low educational backgrounds, few dependents (husband, a wife, and no more than three children), and live in their own concrete houses. Economically, they cultivate small plots of land, have limited capital, and face high production costs, resulting in seasonal incomes generally below IDR 5,000,000. The sharecropping system further limits their earnings. Policy interventions such as capital assistance, access to agricultural technology, and stabilization of crop prices are needed.

Abstract

Abstrak Hasil belajar di SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo Utara setelah dilakukan observasi awal menunjukkan masih rendah dengan nilai rata-rata hasil ulangan semester yaitu 61. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi dinamika litosfer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas(PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, setiap siklus2 kali pertemuan yang terdiri atas pelaksanaan tindakan ,observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian penerapan model Problem Based Learning dengan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi bahwa siswa di kelas X4 memiliki gaya belajar yang berbeda-beda yaitu gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I berjumlah 75% siswa yang memperoleh nilai lebih dari 86, sedangkan pada siklus II berjumlah 91% siswa yang memperoleh nilai lebih dari 86. Hal ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar pada siklus I dan II, setelah dilakukan penerapan model Problem Based Learning dengan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Penerapan model Problem Based Learning dengan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas X4

Abstract

Nama-nama desa tentunya memiliki latar belakang sejarah penamaan yang berbeda-beda antara satu daerah dengan daerah lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi Toponimi Desa di Kecamatan Kabila. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan keruangan. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa yang melatarbelakangi toponimi desa di Kecamatan Kabila terdapat tiga aspek yaitu, aspek perwujudan, aspek kemasyarakatan, dan aspek kebudayaan. Toponimi di Kecamatan Kabila dipengaruhi oleh faktor geografis non-fisikal sebanyak 20% yaitu aspek kemasyarakatan dan aspek kebudayaan, sedangakan faktor fisikal sebanyak 80% yaitu aspek perwujudan. Berdasarkan data yang telah didapatkan dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya toponimi desa di Kecamatan Kabila sebagian besarnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor geofrafis fisikal yaitu aspek perwujudan. Setiap desa/keluran di Kecamatan Kabila memiliki kearifan lokal yang hampir sama dikarena semua desa/kelurahan ini berada dalam satu Provinsi Gorontalo yang dimana masih kental akan adat istiadat dan kearifan lokalnya maka dari itu setiap desa/kelurahan di Kecamatan kabila memiliki kearifan lokal yang tidak jauh berbeda. Antara lain kearifan lokalnya yaitu Hayula, Tumbilo Tohe, Mome'ati (pembeatan), Molontalo (acara 7 bulanan bagi ibu hamil), Mohundingo atau gunting rambut bayi (aqiqah), Mandi Lemon, dan Adat pernikahan.

Abstract

Mobile augmented reality (AR) has evolved from an experimental visualization tool into a mature pedagogical medium that redefines spatial learning in geography education. By embedding digital content into authentic locations, AR fosters experiential and inquiry-driven learning aligned with geography’s spatial and environmental paradigms. Building on evidence from 2015 to 2025, this review synthesizes 138 studies to examine how AR supports cognitive, affective, and behavioral learning dimensions. The analysis reveals that AR enhances spatial reasoning, visualization of abstract processes, and place-based engagement when integrated within robust instructional design frameworks. However, persistent gaps remain in long-term learning assessment, scalability, and teacher competence for authoring AR experiences. Cognitive-load and motivation studies suggest that AR’s benefits are maximized when interactivity and spatial anchoring are balanced with scaffolding. The review proposes a multidimensional model linking technological affordances, pedagogical strategies, and geographic thinking to promote education for sustainability and digital spatial citizenship. Implications for researchers, educators, and developers are discussed to guide future cross-disciplinary innovations.

Abstract

Kecamatan Kabila Bone adalah salah satu kecamatan di Kabupaten Bone Bolango yang sebagian besar wilayahnya terdiri dari pesisir pantai, yang memungkinkan banyak tempat wisata pantai dan wisata bahari di daerah tersebut. Terdapat tiga objek wisata unggulan di daerah tersebut yang cukup populer  serta memiliki potensi pengembangan, dan potensi ekowisata  antara lain Objek Wisata Kurenai, Objek Wisata Hiu Paus, dan Objek Wisata Botutonuo. Penelitian ini  bertujuan untuk menganalisis ketersediaan sarana prasarana pada objek wisata, Untuk mengetahui apakah ketersediaan sarana prasarana pada objek wisata tersebut sudah sesuai dengan Standar Peraturan Menteri Pariwisata No 3 tahun 2018. Pengumpulan data  dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode  observasi dan wawancara  kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  bahwa  pada Objek Wisata Kurenai  terdapat  6 sarana prasarana. Sarana prasarana pada objek wisata   tersebut  belum ada  sama sekali yang sesuai dengan standar Peraturan Menteri Pariwisata.  Pada Objek Wisata Hiu Paus tersedia 9 sarana prasarana, beberapa  sarana prasarana yang sudah sesuai  dengan Standar Peraturan Menteri Pariwisata  yaitu akses  jalan setapak, gazebo, dan gapura identitas. Sementara pada Objek Wisata Botutonuo tersedia 8 sarana prasarana. Adapun sarana prsarana  yang sudah sesuai dengan Standar Peraturan Menteri Pariwisata yaitu akses  jalan setapak, tempat parkir, gazebo, dan  gapura identitas, selebihnya sarana prasarana yang tersedia belum sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Pariwisata.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of students of SMAS Wirabakti Gorontalo in utilizing digital map technology for disaster mitigation-based geography learning. Problems faced by partners include students' low understanding of spatial literacy, teachers' limitations in mastering mapping technology, and lack of infrastructure and collaborative support in schools. To answer these challenges, In-Service Training (IST) and On-Service Training (OST) training methods are used which integrate the use of Google Earth, InaRISK, and QGIS as learning media.This activity is carried out through three main stages: preparation, training, and evaluation. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test, response questionnaires, and observation of participant involvement. The results of the analysis showed an increase in students' average scores from 7.08 in the pre-test to 8.8 in the post-test. In addition, students demonstrate the ability to draw up risk maps and simple mitigation plans, as well as active involvement in practical sessions.This activity has proven to be effective in improving students' disaster literacy and geospatial skills and opening up new insights for teachers in learning innovation. Recommendations from these activities include further training for teachers, infrastructure improvements, and replication of programs in other schools. With this approach, it is hoped that a contextual, creative, and disaster-resilient learning environment will be created.

Abstract

Disaster literacy is a crucial aspect for the people of Gorontalo, as the region is highly vulnerable to various natural hazards. This program aimed to enhance students’ disaster literacy through geospatial data-based learning. The program was conducted at SMAS Wira Bhakti Gorontalo with 20 students as participants. The activities were carried out in several stages: preparation, pretest, lecture, training (hands-on), posttest, and reflection. The results of the pretest and posttest showed an improvement in students’ knowledge. The average pretest score of 67 increased to 88 in the posttest. This finding indicates that the use of geospatial data is effective in improving students’ understanding of disasters. Reflections and student responses further revealed that this program was beneficial in enhancing students’ preparedness for disasters. This program successfully improved students’ disaster literacy and contributed to fostering a disaster-resilient young generation.

Abstract

Instilling a love for Indonesia’s homeland from an early age is essential. One effective approach to fostering patriotism is by introducing young children to Indonesia’s geography. Visual-spatial intelligence plays a crucial role in helping children comprehend spatial concepts and geographic locations. This program aims to enhance young children's visual-spatial intelligence through interactive learning methods utilizing video and map-based media. The activities include video presentations, map-based exercises, coloring maps of Indonesia, and identifying island names to promote active engagement in the learning process. The results indicate that 86.6% of children demonstrated high engagement during learning activities. Furthermore, 80% exhibited strong proficiency in map coloring, while another 80% successfully identified and named islands with high accuracy. These findings suggest that integrating video and map-based media effectively enhances children's geographical understanding and visual-spatial skills. The adoption of audiovisual and visual learning methods can be expanded in early childhood education to foster an interest in geography and strengthen visual-spatial intelligence from an early age.
