Abstract

Pada penelitian ini kami mensintesis nata de coco (NDC) dengan metode standar. Kemampuan daya serap air (absorbsi) dari NDC kering terpadatkan ini juga kami selidiki. Pada pengujian absorbs kami juga membandingkan dengan NDC komersial yang ada di pasaran. Guna mengetahui prospek komersial, absorsivitas air silika gel juga diuji. Dari hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa NDC kering terpadatkan mampu menyerap kelembaban air yang sebanding dengan absorpsivitas silika gel komersial. Ketiga merek NDC yakni NDC pada sampel merek B, C, dan F menunjukkan penyerapan lebih tinggi dibandingkan silika gel dan nilai ini terus mengalami kenaikan mulai hari ke-1 sampai hari ke-5. Jumlah air yang terserap oleh sampel nata de coco pada hari ke-5 yakni sebesar 15,087% (B); 21,86% (C) dan 22,664% (F). Nilai ini lebih besar bila dibandingkan penyerapan oleh silika gel pada bolu yakni sebesar 15,532%. Dari hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa nata de coco mempunyai daya serap yang cukup tinggi.

Abstract

The 3D short animation movie "Barley Manusia Ikan" takes place in Labuan Bajo’s Messa Island precisely. The 3D short animation movie 'Barley Manusia Ikan' is set on Messa Island in Labuan Bajo, it is one of the Indonesia's national tourist priority destinations. The movie tells about the beauty of the landscape, community activities as well as the anatomical and metabolic features of the Bajo tribe from Messah Island. The production process involves pre-production, production, and post-production stages. Pre-production includes creating the script, storyboarding, designing characters, creating voiceovers, and designing the environment/map. Production involves modeling characters, creating assets and properties, designing textures, rigging, animating, and creating 3D special effects. Post-production includes editing and compositing, adding sound effects and music, and final rendering. The Labuan Bajo islands' landscape is surrounded by the ocean. Therefore, the movie's production process requires a complex method, which includes dynamic simulation, such as water splash, wake, ripple, bubble and many more. The 3D effect simulation process requires several experiments, which are quite time-consuming. For instance, obtaining the most realistic results for a scene with a duration of 2.5 seconds (water splash) takes 50 minutes. The research resulted to a realistic-looking 3D animation movie with 3D dynamic visual effects of 7 minutes duration.

Abstract

Kajian mengenai kapilaritas serapan air pada kain merupakan hal yang sifatnya sederhana namun penting dilakukan untuk memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat mengenai karakteristik kain serta demi berkembangnya penelitian mengenai daya serap berbagai jenis kain. Pada penelitian ini digunakan enam jenis kain yaitu kain satin, kain flanel, kain katun, kain sifon, kain crepe, dan kain jersey. Pada pengujian kapilaritas serapan air pada kain, besaran fisika yang dianalisis adalah ketinggian dan kelajuan serapan air. Berdasarkan hasil uji kapilaritas pada kain didapatkan bahwa ketinggian serapan air sebanding dengan kelajuan serapan air. Kelajuan serapan air menunjukkan kapilaritas serapan. Nilai ketinggian serapan air tertinggi adalah kain flanel yakni berkisar 5,1±0,2 cm sedangkan ketinggian serapan air terendah adalah kain satin yakni 2,4±0,2 cm. Kain katun, sifon, dan jersey memiliki ketinggian serapan air yang hampir sama. Kapilaritas tertinggi adalah kain flanel sebesar 0,086 cm/s sedangkan kapilaritas terendah adalah kain satin sebesar 0,040 cm/s. Kain  katun, sifon, dan jersey memiliki kapilaritas serapan air yang sama yaitu 0.070 cm/s.

Abstract

The aim of making this animated film is to promote the national tourism priority area of Labuan Bajo in the form of an animated film by adapting the culture and way of life of the Bajo tribe. Labuhan Bajo is not only the beauty of the natural landscape and sea, the living culture of the Bajo tribe which can physically adapt to aquatic life is an attraction in the process of creating the main character design and story in Barley's animated short film "Fish Man". The data collection methods used range from creating creative designs to measuring audience responses using Google forms. The final result of developing the character design and story of Barley "Fish Man" is in the form of an animated short film which contains a description of each character, expressions and activities of each character with a duration of 7 minutes, and uses storynomics tourism storytelling techniques to increase tourist attraction and is expected to be able to promote Labuan Bajo and can improve the community's economy. The level of audience reception towards this animated film shows a positive response from the result of focused group discussions. Apart from that, 85,7—90% of the survei result stated that the assesment was in the adequate category, both in terms of character design and storyline.

Abstract

Saung Taleus is an SMEs group that produces food made from taro, its members are located in Bogor and its surroundings. The products produced are mostly packaged food products, including taro flour, taro chips, taro cake, taro cheese sticks, taro brownies, and others. The shelf life of these products is not long, so technology is needed to extend their shelf life. Assistance was provided to SMEs and the transfer of "Nata Gel" technology to the Saung Taleus Group to help extend the shelf life of its products. The team handed over 1000 packs of "Nata Gel" to Saung Taleus partners to be applied to their respective products. From the questionnaire, it was found that the satisfaction level of participants in mentoring SMEs and technology transfer reached 85%. This shows that this activity was very successful.

Abstract

Limbah cangkang kerang yang bertumpuk-tumpuk di sebagian besar wilayah Muara Angke menjadi masalah lingkungan yang signifikan. Limbah ini harus dikelola dengan baik karena jika dilihat dari sisi ekonomi berpotensi untuk menambah pendapatan masyarakat dengan mengolahnya menjadi suatu produk kerajinan seperti bros. Sasaran pelatihan ini adalah ibu-ibu PKK Kelurahan Pluit. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan ibu-ibu dalam mencuci cangkang kerang dan membuat bros dari limbah cangkang kerang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan. Materi yang diberikan dalam pelatihan ini adalah materi tentang cara memilah cangkang kerang, cara mencuci cangkang kerang, serta cara membuat bros dari cangkang kerang. Narasumber yang hadir adalah seorang pengrajin manik-manik terkenal yang memiliki brand bernama “Koleksikikie”. Setelah materi, dilakukan praktek pembuatan bros. Masing-masing peserta diberikan satu box alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan untuk membuat bros. Setiap peserta wajib menghasilkan minimal satu produk bros berbahan cangkang kerang. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya keterampilan ibu-ibu PKK Muara Angke dalam memuat bros cangkang kerang, serta dihasilkan 25 bros karya ibu-ibu PKK. Peningkatan keterampilan ini dapat dilihat dari hasil penilaian expert yang menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 55% ibu-ibu bisa membuat bros dengan sangat bagus, 25% bagus,dan 20% kurang bagus.

Abstract

The packaging design process for SMEs is often not a primary priority. As a result, business owners frequently overlook the branding process. Therefore, the design of this packaging is necessary as an effort to rebrand their products to increase their recognition. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing interviews and literature reviews. Through the processes of recopy, recolor, and relayout, a redesign is carried out for products that previously had existing designs. The results show that recopy effectively communicates the message, recolor enhances the product's visual appeal, and relayout gives the packaging a more premium appearance, enabling SMEs to elevate their market position. This packaging design process is not merely about changing the appearance but is also a message construction process through words, colors, and layouts that can leave a lasting impression on consumers' minds.

Abstract

Publishing is one of the creative industry sub-sectors that continues to grow in Indonesia. This research was carried out as a form of implementing digital publishing knowledge and digital marketing communication knowledge in the Publishing Study Program at Polimedia. The purpose of this research is to explain the creation of a digital catalogue that functions as an archive or database of the works of Publishing Study Program students, and as a promotional medium to a wider audience, as well as a capital for future entrepreneurial practices. The method used is qualitative-descriptive research with data collection techniques through literature/document studies, observation, and interviews. In practice, the research team carried out four stages of work, namely: (1) planning the concept of a website and digital catalogue, (2) compiling data and creating a manual catalogue, (3) compiling website content and website design, and (4) data integration (catalogue) to the website. The results obtained from this applied research are the establishment of a website http://katalog-bukupolimedia.my.id as a digital catalog of works by the Publishing Study Program students at Polimedia.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the physical properties of compacted dry biocellulose derived from Xanthosoma undipes K. Koch (taro). Three types of substrates were fermented using Acetobacter xylinum: nata de taro (NDT), nata de coco-taro (NDC-T), and nata de coco-taro-pineapple-tomato (NDC-TPT). The resulting biocellulose products were compacted using a hot press (5000 kgf/cm² for approximately 15 minutes at 120°C) and then dried at 30°C to produce solid biopolymer sheets. Characterization included thickness measurement, FTIR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and SEM-EDX microscopy. Results showed that the cellulose chemical structure remained intact after compaction. The NDC-TPT sample exhibited the highest porosity and water absorption capacity, along with significant UV light transmittance, making it a promising candidate for biodegradable film applications and active moisture-absorbing materials. Microscopic analysis revealed that substrate composition strongly influenced fiber density and pore size, with NDT showing the densest structure and NDC-TPT the most porous.
