Abstract

Learning Arabic can indeed be easily initiated from an early age by acquiring Arabic vocabulary from the commonly heard Quran. It has been proven that learning Arabic vocabulary from the Quran facilitates children in memorizing the Quran, as they memorize by envisioning the meanings of the Quranic vocabulary they are reciting. This serves as the rationale for researchers to investigate how Arabic language learning can be conducted by utilizing vocabulary from the Quran, aiming to ease students in both speaking Arabic and memorizing the Quran. Consequently, students become accustomed to listening to Arabic vocabulary and understanding its meanings through presented images without initially mentioning their meanings. With this direct method, students find it easier to recall the vocabulary provided. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive method and yields insightful findings that are highly beneficial to Quranic institutions as considerations for incorporating Arabic language learning before Quran memorization

Abstract

Teachers must play a strategic role in leading the next generation, particularly those from marginalized groups who are frequently denied access to education, as a result of the transformation of education in the period of Industrial Revolution 4.0. In order to address the educational requirements of marginalized populations like the unemployed, low-income families, and children from broken homes, the Master Indonesia School in Depok, West Java, implemented the Independent Curriculum. This study focuses on this implementation. Observation, interviews, and documentation techniques are used in this qualitative, descriptive study. The Miles and Huberman model (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing) is used in data analysis. The findings demonstrate how the Master School adapted the Independent Curriculum by fusing it with contextual learning ideas and components of the 2013 Curriculum. Religious programs like Al-Quran Reading Guidance (BBQ) and corpse care protocols, as well as nonreligious skill training in areas like online commerce, automotive, graphic design, screen printing, and theater, supplement the learning activities. A student-potential-based strategy and an autonomous learning curriculum are essential for empowering students from underrepresented groups.

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of gamified learning strategies to enhance student engagement and academic achievement in the Fiqh subject among eighth-grade students at MTs Ma’arif Balong, Ponorogo. Preliminary observations revealed that 59% of students did not meet the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC), largely due to the predominant use of traditional lecture-based instruction, which limited active student participation and resulted in poor content comprehension. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of 22 students, and data were collected through observation, testing, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis included assessments of test scores, learning outcomes, and student engagement throughout the instructional process. The results indicate a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, rising from 36.36% in Cycle I to 90.91% in Cycle II. Student engagement similarly increased from 49.15% to 86.65%. These findings suggest that gamification is an effective pedagogical approach for improving both student participation and academic performance in Fiqh instruction. It is recommended that educators adopt this method consistently and explore its application in other subject areas.
