Abstract

Introduction: Children are valuable assets of the nation as the successor of the nation. Efforts to realize the need for an environment that is conducive to quality growth and development from an early age. One of the government programs is the establishment of a class of toddler mothers. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the implementation of the toddler mother class was postponed until the conditions were free from the COVID-19 pandemic. The solution to this problem is to conduct an online toddler mother class using WhatsApp Group media. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of using Whatsapp Grub in the implementation of classes for toddlers aged 0-1 years in increasing the knowledge of toddler mothers. Method: This study used Quasi experimental design with a two-grub pretest-posttest design approach. This study compared the knowledge of toddler mothers before and after treatment. Results: The results of the study obtained a p value of 0.000 or < 0.005 which means that the use of Whatsapp Group in the class of toddler mothers is effective in increasing the knowledge of toddler mothers. Discussion: Various factors that can influence knowledge are the sources of information obtained. The class of toddler mothers both using Whatsapp media and conventionally helps mothers to increase knowledge. Conclusion: Online classes for mothers of toddlers can improve the knowledge of mothers of toddlers. From the results of this study, it can be seen that we can improve knowledge and skills even though not through face-to-face learning, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescent girls will experience menstruation every month which at this time of menstruation they will be at risk of developing anemia. The impact of iron deficiency anemia includes lack of concentration in school-age adolescents which results in decreased school achievement, decreased work ability for workers so that their productivity is reduced. Objective: The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of giving Fe tablets to the incidence of anemia. Methods: Using a pre-experimental research design with control. The population in the study was 97 young women at Junior High School 01 Linggang Begung. Results: the results of the Wiloxcon test in the intervention group were obtained (p value 0.000<?<0.05). These results explain that there is a significant effect of the intervention on Hb levels with (p value < = 0.05). These results explain that there are differences in the intervention of Hb levels in the intervention and control groups with (p value < = 0.05). Discussion: Administration of Fe tablets can increase the erythropoiesis process which initiates the formation of mitotic unipotential stem cells while differentiation into erythrocyte cells when stimulated by erythropoietin also stimulates further mitosis of promonoblasts, basophilic normoblasts and polychromatophilic normoblasts. Conclusion: there was an increase of 1.95 g/dl in the intervention group and 0.15 g/dl in the control group. Where the administration of Fe tablets with a commitment to consuming Fe tablets can increase Hb levels for 1 month of administration

Abstract

Keberadaan kantin di sekolah akan menentukan sehat tidaknya suatu jajanan. Di kota Samarinda, jajanan di luar sekolah masih menjadi masalah bagi anak usia sekolah. SMP X Samarinda adalah sekolah yang mendapatkan penghargaan kantin Bintang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan Kantin Sehat di SMP X Samarinda Kalimantan Timur. Metode pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Informan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 13 orang yang terdiri dari 1 orang informan kunci, 10 orang informan utama, dan 2 orang informan pendukung. Hasil pada penelitian ini yaitu pengelolaan kantin sehat di SMP X Samarinda memiliki sarana prasarana yang lengkap dan didukung dengan adanya anggaran dan sumber daya manusia yang memadai. Sekolah dan penjual kantin bekerja sama menyediakan makanan yang sehat sesuai dengan ketentuan dari BPOM dan puskesmas. Ada pertemuan 1 bulan sekali untuk mengevaluasi kantin sehat. Tujuan kantin sehat di SMP X Samarinda adalah menyediakan jajanan yang sehat sebagai upaya membentuk perilaku jajan yang sehat bagi siswanya. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini yaitu sekolah mempertahankan penyediaan sarana prasarana, anggaran, sumber daya manusia, dan makanan yang sehat dalam membentuk perilaku jajan sehat bagi siswa. Diharapkan sekolah-sekolah lain di Samarinda dapat mengadopsi penerapan kantin sehat di SMP X Samarinda pada penerapan kantin sehat di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

The problem encountered was the attitude of not wanting to take Fe tablets with the reason that it was uncomfortable because of the bad smell and taste like iron. The factor of routine consumption of Fe tablets can be encouraged by applying the Peer Group Education method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Peer Group on increasing the consumption of Fe tablets in adolescent girls. Peer groups is a form of education that emphasizes behavior change and this method interaction occurs within the group. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with a Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all female students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 4 Samarinda, totaling 190 students. Sampling using the Simple Random Sampling technique with the Mann Whittney U-Test test. 85.7% of respondents were in the effective category, and 100% of the respondents were in the routine category. So that there is the effectiveness of the Peer Group on increasing consumption of Fe tablets (p value = 0.00) with a value of = 0.05. Group education by peers (peer education) is a process of communication, information, and education (IEC) carried out by and for peers through the formation of peer groups. It also functions as a forum for sharing among group members so that teenagers exchange ideas and remind each other about consuming Fe tablets.

Background : Stunting can be caused by a lack of proper understanding and attitudes related to nutrition and health during pregnancy. Therefore, an educational program is needed to improve the understanding and attitudes of pregnant mothers, such as through audiovisual media.Purpose : to determine the effect of stunting education using audiovisual media on the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women in the Mangkupalas Health Center Working Area.Methods : This quasi-experimental study used a pre-post test design with a control group. A total of 34 participants were selected through purposive sampling, with 16 in the intervention group and 18 in the control group. The research was conducted at Mangkupalas Health Center from April 26 to May 31, 2023. Data were collected through questionnaires, and the intervention group received education through audiovisual media for 8 minutes, while the control group received material in the form of leaflets. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test.Result : The results of the study indicate that stunting education using audiovisual media successfully increased the knowledge of pregnant women (p = 0.013) but had no impact on their attitudes (p = 0.083). Difference analysis showed no significant difference in knowledge improvement after receiving education through audiovisual media compared to leaflets (p = 0.687).Conclusion: Stunting education through audiovisual media influences the knowledge of pregnant women but does not significantly impact their attitudes

Abstract

Diarrhea is an infectious disease and a health problem worldwide, including Indonesia. Handwashing with soap (HWWS) is an important step to prevent diseases such as diarrhea. Animated videos are an effective medium to deliver health education aimed at improving practical skills. This study evaluated the effect of health education through animated video intervention on HWWS skills in school-age children. This study used a quasi-experimental pre-posttest method with a control group design. Forty students were sampled using simple random sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. Animated videos were used as an intervention for the experimental group, while posters were used for the control group. HWWS skills were assessed using an observation checklist before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Mann-Whitney U test. The results of statistical analysis showed a significant effect (p-value = 0.000) of health education in the form of animated videos on students' HWWS skills, the results of statistical analysis also showed a statistically significant difference (p value = 0.000) in students' HWWS skills in the experimental group and control group after being given health education with different media. Schools are expected to develop animated videos as a medium to increase exposure and quality of health education.

Abstract

This study aims to detect the presence of Oxytetracycline antibiotic residues in broiler chicken livers sold at the Mandalika Traditional Market, Mataram City. This study used a bioassay screening test method to detect antibiotic residues in broiler chicken liver samples taken from 10 traders in the market. The results showed that no antibiotic residues were found in all samples tested. All samples showed negative results, which means that the broiler chicken livers sold in the market contain Oxytetracycline residues. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that broiler chickens sold at the Mandalika Traditional Market do not contain Oxytetracycline antibiotic residues that exceed the safe limit for consumption.

Abstract

Stunting merepresentasikan isu krusial dalam kesehatan publik yang memiliki implikasi jangka panjang terhadap kualitas modal insani. Intervensi preventif esensial untuk diimplementasikan sejak fase remaja, melalui fasilitasi edukasi kesehatan dengan seleksi sarana pedagogis yang memiliki efikasi terukur. Riset ini menginvestigasi disparitas efektivitas antara penggunaan media video edukatif dan presentasi PowerPoint dalam meningkatkan kapabilitas kognitif remaja mengenai mitigasi stunting di SMP Negeri 15 Samarinda. Metodologi penelitian mengadopsi desain quasi-eksperimental yang mengaplikasikan rancangan pretest-posttest control group. Total partisipan riset adalah 80 siswa kelas VIII yang secara acak dialokasikan ke dalam dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimental yang menerima intervensi melalui media PowerPoint, dan kelompok kontrol yang menerima intervensi melalui media video edukatif. Instrumen pengumpul data terdiri dari kuesioner pengetahuan mengenai stunting yang telah menjalani proses uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan Mann-Whitney. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan remaja setelah diberikan intervensi pada kedua kelompok (p=0,000). Namun, hasil uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelompok (p=0,025), di mana media PowerPoint terbukti lebih efektif dibandingkan media video dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja tentang pencegahan stunting. Media PowerPoint lebih efektif dibandingkan media video dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja mengenai pencegahan stunting. Disarankan agar tenaga kesehatan dan pihak sekolah menggunakan media PowerPoint yang interaktif dan sesuai karakteristik siswa dalam kegiatan pendidikan kesehatan.
