Abstract

Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (Researct and Development) dengan model pengembangan IDDIE. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk Mengetahui cara mengembangkan alat peraga drag racing pembelajaran IPA, mengetahui kelayakan alat peraga drag racing pembelajaran IPA yang telah dikembangkan dan mengetahui aktivitas pembelajaran siswa setelah melakukan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan alat peraga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Kupang Timur. Sampel penelitiannya yaitu siswa kelas VIII D SMP Negeri Kupang Timur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh penilaian ahli pakar Alat peraga dimana berdasarkan penilaian pakar ahli alat produk secara keseluruhan memperoleh presentase penilaian sebesar 90% dinyatakan “sangat layak”. Setelah alat peraga tersebut dimplementasikan, siswa juga menilai secara langsung alat tersebut, berdasarkan hasil penilaian secara keseluruhan siswa menyatakan alat peraga tersebut “sangat baik” dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 98,32%. Siswa juga sangat antusias dan tertarik dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan alat peraga hal ini bisa dilihat dari hasil penilaian melalui observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dimana presentase penilaiannya mencapai 83,52% yang termasuk dalam kategori “sangat aktif” .

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in students ' critical thinking skills taught using the learning models of Numbered Heads Together and Group Investigation. This research was an experimental research with the design of randomized control group pre-Test post-Test design. Research conducted in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Kupang. Data analysis was conducted using test-T. T test result with a significant level of 5% (α = 0.05) obtained the value of Sig (2-tailed) 0,006<0,05 so Ha accepted. It indicates that there are significant differences in critical thinking skills between students taught using Numbered Heads Together and Group Investigation learning models. The critical thinking ability of students taught using the Numbered Heads Together learning model is higher than the students taught using the Group Investigation learning model.

Abstract

Misconception is one of the causes of a student's learning difficulties. This study aimed to obtain information about whether there were students' misconceptions about work and energy and the factors that caused these misconceptions. The population of this research is class X Negeri 1 Kupang students. The data collection technique used in this study was a written test instrument with multiple choices, totaling 10 questions and documentation. This research method uses quantitative research with research data consisting of quantitative data and qualitative data. The subjects of this study were class X SMA Negeri 1 Kupang students. Data collection methods include tests and documentation of student work. The four-tier diagnostic test consists of 4 levels: questions with answer choices, choice of answer confidence level, choice of reasons, and choice of confidence level of reason. The results of the study show that the category of misconceptions about work and energy by students of SMA Negeri 1 Kupang is in the moderate category.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA dan laboratorium tidak dapat dipisahkan keberadaannya secara fungsional. Guru sebagai komponen penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan pendidikan menjadi protokol dalam kegiatan pembelajaran IPA berbasis laboratorium dan pengelolaannya. Tujuan kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam teknik pengelalolaan laboratorium dan keterampilan dalam mengoperasikan alat laboratorium sebagai penunjang pembelajaran IPA. Kegiatan pelatihan ini menerapkan pendekatan community based research (CBR) yaitu strategi kontekstual yang mengaitkan antara teori dengan praktik yang disampaikan dengan metoda praktik terbimbing. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan ini bertempat di SMP Negeri 12 Kupang, dengan subjek kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah 35 orang guru mata pelajaran IPA SMP/MTs se-Kota Kupang. Pelatihan ini telah berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan Laboratorium guru IPA SMP/MTs se-Kota Kupang dalam tata kelola laboratorium dan keterampilan penggunaan KIT IPA dalam menunjang pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

The rapid transformation of science education in the digital era calls for pedagogical innovations that promote deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. This study aims to investigate the effect of integrating PhET interactive simulations into a guided inquiry learning model on students’ conceptual understanding of elasticity and Hooke’s Law. A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was employed with 55 eleventh-grade science students at SMA Frater Don Bosco Lewoleba, Indonesia. The experimental group experienced PhET-supported guided inquiry, while the control group received guided inquiry instruction with real demonstration tools. Statistical analysis revealed that students in the experimental group achieved significantly higher posttest scores than those in the control group (t(53) = 2.89, p = 0.01), with a medium-to-high effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.67). The findings suggest that PhET interactive simulations function as cognitive scaffolds by visualizing abstract physical phenomena, reducing extraneous cognitive load, and supporting conceptual reconstruction during inquiry activities. These results highlight the pedagogical value of embedding digital simulations within inquiry-based physics instruction to enhance students’ conceptual understanding and foster meaningful learning in abstract scientific domains.
