Abstract

Fiscal policy and monetary policy are the two macroeconomic policies used by the government and monetary authorities in order to create a stable economy. The budget deficit policy is one form of fiscal policy implemented by the government in order to realize a high level of economic growth, a controlled inflation rate and open up new job opportunities to reduce unemployment. The impact of the implementation of the budget deficit policy on the level of economic growth is a long debate. Neoclassical groups argue that the implementation of budget deficit policies is detrimental to the economy, as it lowers the rate of economic growth. Keynesian groups argue that the implementation of the budget deficit policy is very good for the economy, because it triggers the rate of economic growth by increasing the number of demand for goods and services through increased government spending. While the Richardian people argue that the implementation of budget deficit policy has no effect on the economy. The data used in this study is data from 1981-2014 which consists of budget deficit, government consumption, government investment and economic growth rate. The method of analysis in this research is using Partial Least Square-Path Modeling (PLS-PM) approach with SMART-PLS analysis tool which aims to analyze the direct and indirect influence of the implementation of budget deficit policy toward the level of economic growth through government consumption and government investment. The results show that the implementation of the budget deficit policy can increase economic growth through increased government investment spending. Keywords: budget deficits, government investment, government consumption, growth.

Abstract

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, a touchless portable sink has been developed. This innovative sink allows users to operate it by simply stomping on it with their feet, eliminating the need for hand contact. The implementation of touchless sink technology includes the design and production of touchless sinks, field testing of the equipment, and communication with the community and operators of the Wisata Taman Nggirli in Bantul. The initial phase of this program involves designing a touchless sink by utilizing engineering design programs. The second step proceeded with the manufacturing process, which took place in workshops located inside and outside the campus. Following that, the third phase involves conducting tests on the site and reaching out to the staffs of Taman Nggirli to engage them as users of this device. Participants were socialized through the introduction of touchless sinks, accompanied by an explanation of the distinction between touchless sinks and conventional sinks. Next, the participants are instructed on the operational mechanism of the touchless sink by demonstrating the use of a footrest located beneath the pedal. Finally, a testing of the device was conducted at the Taman Nggirli. Each participant eagerly attempted to use this touchless sink, one after another. Based on this testing, it is evident that the device functions effectively and may be utilized as intended.

Abstract

Implementing the Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture (LEISA) concept is expected to optimize the use of local inputs, reduce negative environmental impacts, and produce safe products. In Bantul Regency, a group of shallot farmers have cultivated using the LEISA system, but their production has decreased. This research aims to determine factors that influence production, the influence of technical inefficiency on production variability, sources of inefficiency, and the level of technical efficiency of LEISA system shallot farming. This research is quantitative descriptive. Determining the research location used the purposive method and selecting the sample using random sampling techniques. Technical efficiency analysis uses the Cobb Douglas Stochastic Frontier production function. The research results show that land area positively affects shallot production in the LEISA system with a regression coefficient of 0.718. Technical inefficiency problems that farmers can control contribute 1% to production variability, and technical inefficiency originates from farmer age. LEISA system shallot farming in Bantul Regency is not technically efficient. This research implies that farmers can increase LEISA system shallot production by increasing the land area, and to increase technical efficiency, this can be done by increasing farmer experience and increasing the motivation of young farmers in LEISA system shallot farming. Farmers with experience and who are young have better physical and decision-making abilities. Apart from that, further research must be conducted to evaluate the sustainability of the LEISA system shallot farming.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase understanding and assist MSME players in Pleret Panjatan Kulon Progo in obtaining halal certification for their products through counseling and mentoring. This research uses the community service method which was carried out in the Pleret Panjatan Kalurahan Office Hall on September 19, 2024. The activity consists of three stages: planning, counseling, and mentoring. Resource persons from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bantul Regency provided material on halal certification and the application process through the SiHalal portal. Assistance is carried out directly to assist MSME players in the process of applying for halal certificates and fulfilling administrative requirements. This activity succeeded in increasing the understanding of culinary MSME players regarding halal certification, as well as motivating them to register their products through the SiHalal portal. In addition, the assistance helps MSME players in fulfilling administrative requirements, such as making a Business Identification Number (NIB), so that they can obtain a halal certificate. The limitation of this research lies in the relatively short implementation time, so that it has not been able to reach all MSME players in Pleret Panjatan Kalurahan as a whole. In addition, limitations in the initial data collection made some potential MSME actors not yet involved in this activity. This activity contributes to increasing the understanding and awareness of MSME actors in coastal areas regarding the importance of halal certification. This activity also makes a practical contribution to the halal certification process through the Free Halal Certificate (Sehati).

Abstract

AbstractIn the digital era, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) face significant challenges in adapting to changes in consumer behavior that require business transformation to remain competitive. As an economic pillar, SMEs' responsiveness to global threats and crises is crucial. However, there are obstacles in utilizing digital technology, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has impacted SME production and revenue, as experienced by CV Ragil Jaya Craft. Interviews with the owner of CV Ragil Jaya Craft revealed that although they have served both domestic and international markets, they still rely on conventional marketing. During the nearly two-year pandemic, its impact was significant on their business, including a decline in demand affecting sales turnover. Mobility restrictions during the pandemic hindered the conventional marketing strategies they relied on, forcing a shift to digital marketing. However, optimizing digital marketing, especially social media, remains a challenge. To address this, the Community Service Team from Janabadra University initiated a training program to strengthen the use of social media. This program includes intensive discussions and training on digital marketing strategies. The evaluation results showed significant improvements: understanding the importance of social media marketing increased from 35% to 80%, and understanding how to choose platforms suitable for the target market rose from 50% to 87%. Meanwhile, training in social media optimization strategies increased understanding from 10% to 60%. This gap highlights the need for further mentoring to ensure the skills acquired can be effectively applied in daily business operations, supporting market expansion and sustainable production capacity enhancement. Keywords: digital transformation; SME challenges; SME training; social media marketing
