The Covid-19 problem that continues to haunt public life impacts the implementation of religion in society. For this reason, faith has moved itself to overcome the prevention that has been carried out. Religion plays a significant role in regulating human life, so religious leaders are always expected to provide guidance and religious doctrine in responding to covid 19. The purpose of this study was to find out about the views of Islamic religious leaders and from religious doctrine itself in responding to the Covid pandemic. -19. The method used is the descriptive qualitative research method. Primary data sources are sources taken directly from religious organization figures such as Nahdlatul Ulama, Persatuan Islam, and Muhammadiyah. The secondary data sources are literature such as books, journals, and other scientific works to collect data systematically. Data analysis was carried out in several ways, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification. Religious institutions also have a role in the community in responding to the Covid-19 outbreak, namely moving in helping the community, providing solutions and contributing according to government regulations to the community. In matters of worship, the community must know whether the rules of congregational worship are allowed or not and whether other sacred places are allowed to be visited. It all goes into the role of religious institutions in guiding the community.

Abstract

Social media has emerged as a critical arena for religious discourse, reshaping the dynamics of Islamic apologetics in contemporary Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the framing strategies employed in the digital content of Bang Zuma, a popular Muslim apologist on YouTube, particularly known for his polemical videos on Islam-Christianity debates. Drawing upon Robert Entman's framing theory and James Thrower's perspective on the social construction of religion, this research investigates how Bang Zuma’s content contributes to the reconstruction of Islamic identity and discourse within digital spaces. Using qualitative content analysis on three viral video transcripts, the study identifies four key framing strategies: (1) constructing a binary between the "authentic Jesus" and the "false Jesus"; (2) selectively appropriating Biblical texts; (3) positioning Islam as the true heir of monotheism; and (4) delegitimizing Christian theological authority. These strategies not only serve apologetic purposes but also enact a performative reconstruction of Islamic identity tailored to the logic of social media platforms. The findings reveal that Bang Zuma’s digital apologetics represent a transformation of traditional munazara practices, illustrating what Thrower describes as the “reconfiguration of religious authority” in the digital age, where legitimacy is increasingly built through visibility, engagement, and performativity rather than institutional credentials. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how digital religious actors utilize platform-based affordances to shape public perceptions of Islam, negotiate interfaith boundaries, and reconstruct theological narratives in a fragmented, algorithm-driven media ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the continuity and role of this myth in the religious life of the local community, as well as to understand how this myth intertwines with the Islamic teachings they adhere to. This study uses an anthropological approach and qualitative research through literature review, participant observation, and in-depth interviews with community leaders. The analysis is conducted using Claude Lévi-Strauss's structuralism theory, which views myth as a cultural mechanism for managing the fundamental contradictions of human life. The results show that the myth of "cadu ka haji" serves as an interpretive tool in understanding socio-spiritual phenomena and serves as a bridge between local traditions and religious teachings. The Cipaku community has developed a unique way of practicing religion, where faith, myth, and ancestral values synergize in daily practice. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of a cultural approach in Islamic propagation and the preservation of local wisdom. The originality of this study lies in revealing the syncretic dynamics between Islam and local Sundanese culture, which have not been widely explored in previous academic studies.

Abstract

Religious plurality has the highest positive-negative potential among several aspects of plurality that exist. This is inseparable from the multifaces of religion. This paper aims to explore the role of Pecalang in maintaining religious plurality on Lombok Island by focusing on three problem formulations, namely: how Pecalang are in religious plurality on Lombok Island, how Pecalang as a minority group and the face of plurality on Lombok Island, and how Pecalang maintain religious plurality on Lombok Island. This paper is based on qualitative research with data sources from the Sasak and Balinese communities on Lombok Island. The data obtained through the interview method were then interpreted using Talcott Parsons' structural functional theory. The results of the analysis show that Pecalang as a task force that is traditionally a Balinese Hindu culture in the midst of the Sasak Muslim community is a fact of religious plurality on Lombok Island. Pecalang as a Balinese Hindu minority group living in the midst of the Sasak Muslim majority tries to maintain or safeguard the peace, security and stability of religious plurality on Lombok Island. This can be seen from how Pecalang adapts, sets shared social goals, integrates or cooperates with other community groups, and maintains stability by conducting "dialogue" with other religious groups. Given the importance of plurality stability in the midst of community life, studies related to plurality in society need to be developed. This is done in order to maintain community stability and identify problems that have not been identified.

Abstract

This article examines a customary society’s approach to environmental conservation, particularly the indigenous group in Cikondang village, Bandung Regency. This article employs a case study approach to understand their local wisdom toward nature. In addition, this study adopts a perennial philosophy perspective, which considers nature and humanity as integral parts of a divine macro and micro cosmos, necessitating mutual protection and harmony. The study reveals that the Cikondang people adhere to the philosophy of mipit kudu amit, ngala kudu bebeja (picking requires permission, taking must be declared), which underscores not only a prohibition against theft but also an ethical commitment to environmental sustainability. This principle is manifested in the strict protection of sacred areas such as huluwotan (spring sources) and prohibited forests, which are safeguarded against exploitation. The study shows the significance of indigenous beliefs and practices in promoting ecological balance, providing crucial insights for contemporary environmental management.
