Abstract

This review examines the intricate historical route of ethical standards within health research, integrating insights from an Islamic perspective. It meticulously traces pivotal junctures from the genesis of ethical frameworks like the Nuremberg Code and the Declaration of Helsinki to the establishment and evolution of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). Employing content analysis, the paper examines the adaptive nature of ethical guidelines in facing contemporary challenges, including genetic research and emerging technologies, through the lens of Islamic principles. It emphasizes the dynamic interplay between ethics and progress, highlighting the pivotal role of ethical considerations in safeguarding the well-being of research participants and upholding the integrity of scientific endeavours within an Islamic ethical framework. Through this exploration, the study underscores the indispensable role of ethical foundations in steering responsible and socially conscious research practices across multifaceted domains, thereby shaping a more conscientious and accountable landscape in health research, enriched by Islamic perspectives.

Abstract

TikTok is a new social media site that offers a lot of features to let its users create expressive content on their own. Most of the users on this platform create indecent video content about dancing excessively and other immoral acts, particularly by women. This paper, therefore, aims at discussing the behaviour of some unmarried Muslim women on TikTok in Northern Nigeria. It was observed that the attitudes of some unmarried Muslim women on social media, especially on TikTok, are unbecoming and go against the moral teachings of Islam as it relates to social engagement. The researchers also discovered that most of the women are involved in indecent behaviours on the TikTok platform, where some of these unmarried Muslim females either in the name of becoming celebrities or advertising a brand for the public to see via videos that were uploaded to the platform thereby exposing their bodies to those who are not their Mahram to see. This study was conducted using a survey method, and data were collected through in-depth interviews. The researchers therefore, recommend that Islamic Da’wah is the only way forward to curtail such unethical behaviours among Muslims in Northern Nigeria. The study also recommended that there was an urgent need for Muslim scholars in Northern Nigeria and beyond, to intensify effort through preaches in Masjid, schools, and other public gatherings on the menace of TikTok on Muslim Ummah most importantly the Youth.

Abstract

This research centered on enhancing Islamic Da’wah and Islamic teachings through the usage of social media. The purpose of this research was to examine how Muslims make use of social media to enhance Da’wah and Islamic knowledge among Muslims and non-Muslims, and the various Muslim scholars and groups on social media platforms who utilized the new technology to propagate the message of Islam. The paper adopted qualitative and analytical research methodologies in analyzing the issue in the research article, the paper also conducted an in-depth interview with two respondents at different intervals. Consequently, this paper explored the newest means of tapping the treasures of social media towards augmenting Da’wah activities and spreading the knowledge of Islam. The paper identified various individual Muslim scholars and groups that created pages/channels on Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter, and other social media platforms to enhance Islamic da’wah and knowledge. Hence, the paper found out that social media is a workable and genuine tool for the propagation ideals of Islam.

Abstract

Education today is a very crucial aspect and a major need, especially in this modern era. To remain relevant, education must be able to adapt to the development of digital technology, so that it can produce competent students through collaboration between schools and teachers in the learning process. The rapid advancement of science and technology has brought great changes in human life. The role of teachers in the 21st century has undergone a significant transformation from the traditional model that is authoritative and teacher-centered, to a modern model that is student-oriented, collaborative, and adaptive to the times. 21st century teachers are no longer just transmitters of knowledge, but also facilitators of active learning, spiritual and moral guides, and agents of social change who can shape students' character to be ready to face global challenges. In the face of the challenges of the 21st century, teachers must have a deep understanding of digital technology to carry out their roles effectively. The competencies required include personality, professionalism, social skills, and pedagogic abilities that must be continuously updated to be able to meet the learning needs of students and the demands of society in this era

Abstract

A linkage between Muslim youths and societal development is obvious and enduring since the time of the first Prophet on earth, Adam (A.S.). This interaction is connected symbiotically and, furthermore, one depends on the other for its sustenance. Therefore, the role of Muslim youths in the development of Nasarawa State cannot be ignored. The wheels of the development of a country rest on the shoulders of the youths. Consequently, the youths in Nasarawa State are the engine of the growth and development because they provide the labor force for the production of goods and services to take effect in the development of the state. Thus, the role of Muslim youths in the development of Nasarawa State is crucial for the entire developmental processes and aspirations of the whole society. In addition, the productive youths are acknowledged as the cornerstone for societal rejuvenation.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: Can find out the process of using the Talking Stick method for learning Islamic Religious Education in parallel classes in junior high school. Apart from that, you can find out the obstacles and solutions to the process of using the Talking Stick method in learning Islamic Religious Education in parallel classes in junior high schools. Methodology: This research uses a qualitative approach where data collection techniques are carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation, data analysis is carried out by means of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Main Findings: The research results show that the process of using the Talking Stick method in learning Islamic Religious Education in parallel classes can run well, even though there are obstacles that can hinder the learning process. These include the schedule for Islamic religious education subjects starting at the last hour of learning, the lack of facilities that support the learning process, the time given to students to read and study the subject matter is only 20 minutes and using the Talking Stick method takes a very long time. when playing sticks. Novelty/Originality of this study: The implication of this research is that educators must be better able to use the Talking Stick method. To comply with the time specified in the learning implementation plan that has been made and so that learning runs according to what is expected. In learning, students need a lot of time to know and understand the lesson material given.

Abstract

Da'wah is a duty for all Muslims; the Glorious Qur'an provides the basic principles of Da'wah methodologies to be applied by the Muslims Da'i (preacher) in the Da'wah field. This paper, therefore, attempts to provide the much-lacking information on the activities of Muslims in terms of Da'wah and in one hand the responses of the non-Muslims in Akwanga and Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Areas towards Islamic Da'wah. The paper looks into the activities of Muslim Organisations in the areas in carrying out Da'wah, Da'wah movement and also the responses of the non-Muslims towards Muslims Da'wah activities in the area. It was discovered that there is negative thought toward Muslims and the Da'wah message from the non-Muslims. This is crucial because necessary actions could then be taken or solution is sought to ensure the smooth progress of Da'wah activities in Akwanga and Nassarawa Eggon. This paper is adopted qualitative techniques to elicit primary data from the participants. And the researcher purposively selected ten (10) participants and were interviewed based on the issue investigated.
