Abstract

The indicator of territory improvement was human resource development. It becamecentral issues in this study. Education and economic empowering were asmain factors in empowering the society. Society was in around Bantimurung Tourism Park need English competences and home industry skill. English was used to communicate the tourists well and home industry as alternative way in increasing their family’s capital.Partisipative method was one available approach in participating and in accommodating the society through the programs proposed by the team of KKN PPM 2016.The purposes of these programs were 1) English village forming, 2) The formation of a potent entrepreneurial-based creative entrepreneurial group. The resut of the promrams were; 1) there was literacy community for teenager and the youth, 2) there was children art group of farmer community, 3) The improvement of family group home industry and the economy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Tompo Bulu, Kecamatan Rumbia, Kabupaten Jeneponto terletak pada ketinggian 900 meter diatas permukaan air laut dengan tipe iklim C2. Penelitian ini dimulai pada Desember 2022 sampai dengan April 2023. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam bentuk percobaan faktorial dua faktor yang disusun berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok. Faktor pertama adalah dosis NPK yang terdiri atas tiga taraf yaitu : Kontrol, 8 g/tanaman = 143 kg/ha dan 15 g/tanaman = 266 kg/ha. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi Pupuk Organik Cair terdiri atas tiga taraf yaitu : 200 ml/tanaman = 3.555 L/ha, 400 ml/tanaman = 7.111 L/ha, 600 ml/tanaman = 10.666 L/ha.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian NPK 15 g/tanaman = 266 kg/ha memberikan pengaruh lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman pare, perlakuan pemberian konsentrasi POC limbah sayuran 600 ml/tanaman = 10.666 L/ha memberikan pengaruh lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman pare, tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan dosis NPK dan konsentrasi POC limbah sayuran terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman pare

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan bibit kakao hasil grafting pada berbagai jumlah ruas dan lama perendaman dalam ekstrak bawang merah. Dilaksanakan pada juli hingga oktober 2023. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk percobaan faktorial 2 faktor yang disusun berdasarkan rancangan acak kelompok, Faktor pertama adalah berbagai jumlah ruas yang terdiri atas 3 taraf yaitu : 2, 3 dan 4 ruas. Faktor kedua adalah lama perendaman ekstrak bawang merah yang terdiri atas 3 taraf yaitu : kontrol, 30 dan 60 menit perendaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa panjang entres 4 ruas memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap persentase keberhasilan (97,78),pertambahan tinggi tanaman (8,51), jumlah daun (9,32), diameter tunas (4,49), volume akar (4,08). Lama perendaman ekstrak bawang merah 60 menit memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap persentase keberhasilan (97,78),pertambahan tinggi tanaman (8,61), jumlah daun (8,84), diameter tunas (4,18) dan volume akar (4,12). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara jumlah ruas dengan ekstrak bawang merah terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kakao hasil grafting.

Abstract

Cabai merah merupakan salah satu tanaman hortikultura yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Pertumbuhan dan produksi cabai merah dapat dimaksimalkan dengan menggunakan pupuk organik cair dan jarak tanam yang tepat. Salah satu bahan dasar yang dapat digunakan dalam pupuk organik cair yaitu cangkang telur ayam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon penggunaan cangkang telur dan perlakuan jarak tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi cabai merah. Penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan Agustus sampai November 2023. Penelitian ini disusun berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok faktorial dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah perlakuan POC cangkang telur yang terdiri atas 3 taraf, yaitu kontrol, 200 ml/L, dan 400 ml/L. Faktor kedua adalah perlakuan jarak tanam yang terdiri atas 3 taraf, yaitu 40 x 60 cm, 50 x 60 cm, dan 60 x 60 cm. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pupuk organik cair cangkang telur berpengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman 20 HST (20,43 cm), 30 HST (30,57 cm), 40 HST (58,90 cm); jumlah daun 20 HST (22,83 helai), 30 HST (45,31 helai), 40 HST (74,31 helai); jumlah buah (6,44 buah); bobot buah per petak (1,48 kg); produksi ton/hektar (7,40 ton/ha); dan berpengaruh tidak nyata pada umur berbunga. Sedangkan jarak tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot buah per petak (1,21 kg), produksi ton/hektar (6,04 ton/ha). Interaksi antara POC cangkang telur dengan jarak tanam hanya berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah buah (6,44 buah). Perlakuan konsentrasi POC cangkang telur 400 ml/L dan jarak tanam 60 cm x 60 cm memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi cabai merah

Abstract

Jeruk siam (Citrus nobilis L.) is one of the most popular horticultural commodities in Indonesia. The growth quality of citrus seedlings is strongly influenced by the composition of the growing media and the appropriate dosage of fertilizer. This study aimed to determine the effect of growing media composition and liquid organic fertilizer dosage on the growth of grafted Citrus nobilis seedlings. The research was conducted from January to April 2025 using a factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor was the growing media composition (soil, manure, husk), consisting of K1 = 1:1:1, K2 = 2:1:1, and K3 = 2:2:1. The second factor was the dosage of liquid organic fertilizer: P1 = 10 ml/l, P2 = 15 ml/l, and P3 = 20 ml/l. The results showed that the growing media composition of soil : manure : husk with aratio of 2:1:1 (K2) gave the best growth performance, with an average plant height of 47.44 cm, 23 leaves, stem diameter of 0.63 cm, and root volume of 16.00 ml at 10 weeks after planting. The 15 ml/l dosage of liquid organic fertilizer (P2) also promoted optimal growth with results close to the best media treatment. No significant interaction was found between the media composition and fertilizer dosage on the growth of the grafted Citrus nobilis seedlings.

Abstract

The use of technology in rice farming can significantly increase production, reduce management time, expand cultivated land, and improve product quality to meet consumer standards. When rice production meets market demand, the selling price becomes higher, thus increasing farmers’ income and welfare. The presence of farmer groups plays a vital role as a learning forum for gaining knowledge, implementing agricultural technology, and facilitating access to agricultural tools and machinery. This enables farmers to apply technology effectively, improve work efficiency, and address challenges in rice farming. Considering the great potential of this region for rice cultivation, supported by growing local food demand and the national food security program, technology implementation becomes essential. This study employed the Likert scale method to measure farmers’ attitudes, opinions, and perceptions, with samples collected through purposive sampling. The findings show that the role of farmer groups in implementing rice farming technology in the Misa Kada (Advanced) group reached 74.91%, while the Ta’pan Kila’ (Beginner) group reached 66.07%. This indicates that farmer groups have contributed effectively, though some activities remain suboptimal. Strengthening learning class programs is the most strategic effort to enhance farmers’ understanding of agricultural technology, improve productivity, and maintain Tana Toraja’s cultural values.

Abstract

Global challenges such as climate change and land degradation demand the strengthening of the agricultural sector through the adoption of relevant technologies. Agricultural extension plays an important role in conveying information and technological innovations to farmers, with extension workers as facilitators, educators, and motivators in accelerating the implementation of agricultural technology packages. However, the rate of adoption of technology by farmers is still low, especially in Tana Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi. In addition, there is no comprehensive and results-based evaluation system for extension workers. This study aims to determine the level of farmers' understanding of agricultural technology packages introduced by agricultural extension workers in Batu Papan Village, Makale District, Tana Toraja Regency. The research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with the object of the study, namely Field Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL) active in Makale District as many as seven people and 139 assisted farmers from six farmer groups. Farmer samples were taken as much as 20% of the population or 30 respondents using census and purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire with a Likert scale to assess farmers' perception and level of understanding of the implementation of agricultural technology packages. The results showed that the level of farmers' understanding of the technology package introduced by extension workers was in the "very high" category with an index value of 82.6%. These findings show that extension workers have an effective role in increasing farmers' knowledge and involvement. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the support of extension facilities and infrastructure, such as technological teaching aids, audiovisual media, and field transportation, to support the optimization of the performance of agricultural extension workers in the region.

Abstract

This study analyzes the contribution of the pump-based irrigation program to improving food security in Tana Toraja Regency, focusing on the dimensions of availability, access, and stability. The research was conducted in Mengkendek District, where pump irrigation has become a major strategy for addressing water shorthages in highland agricultural systems. A descriptive qualitative approach supported by quantitative data using a Likert-scale questionnaire was employed. Twenty-one farmers representing seven farmer groups participated in the study. The results show that pump irrigation significantly enhances food availability by increasing production, cropping frequency, and cultivated land area. Food access improved through higher income and greater purchasing power, enabling more diverse and nutritious food consumption.  Food stability also increased, supported by more consistent production throughout the year, although challenges such as pump damage, fuel costs, and topographical barriers remain. Overall, pump-based irrigation contributes substantially to strengthening household food security; however, sustained support through technical assistance, institutional strengthening, and operational cost management is needed to ensure long-term program sustainability.

Abstract

Kabupaten Bone dikenal sebagai salah satu daerah utama penghasil padi di Sulawesi Selatan, dengan banyak masyarakatnya yang bergantung pada sektor pertanian. Kelurahan Tibojong yang terletak di Kecamatan Tanete Riattang merupakan salah satu wilayah di Kabupaten Bone yang memiliki potensi pertanian cukup besar. Namun, terdapat kendala seperti keterbatasan sumber daya petani, kurangnya pemanfaatan teknologi, serta pola pertanian yang masih konvensional sehingga menyebabkan hasil panen yang belum maksimal. Metode Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Populasi petani di Kelurahan Tibojong Kecamatan Tanete Riattang Timur Kabupaten Bone sebanyak 250 orang petani. Adapun sampel yang digunakan yaitu 20% dari total populasi (50 orang). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyuluh pertanian berperan sangat penting dalam mendukung transformasi pertanian melalui pelatihan, pendampingan, pengenalan teknologi, akses permodalan, dan penguatan kelompok tani, dimana hal tersebut dilihat dalam 3 aspek yakni aspek teknis, sosial dan ekonomi. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini ialah penyuluh pertanian memiliki peran besar dalam membantu petani melakukan perubahan ke arah pertanian yang lebih maju.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi kinerja penyuluh pertanian dan pemahaman petani terhadap paket teknologi pertanian di Kecamatan Makale, Tana Toraja. Pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan dengan melibatkan seluruh 7 orang penyuluh aktif dan 30 orang sampel petani penerima paket teknologi dari 139 populasi di Desa Batu Papan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman petani terhadap paket teknologi tergolong sangat tinggi, dengan indeks sebesar 82,6%. Kinerja penyuluh secara keseluruhan juga berada dalam kategori sangat tinggi (indeks 82%), dengan satu penyuluh menonjol memperoleh skor tertinggi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan keberhasilan implementasi program penyuluhan. Berdasarkan hasil, penelitian merekomendasikan pengoptimalan media penyuluhan berbasis teknologi informasi, seperti video, infografis, dan aplikasi pertanian sederhana, untuk semakin mempermudah pemahaman dan adopsi inovasi teknologi oleh petani. This study evaluated the performance of agricultural extension workers and farmers' understanding of agricultural technology packages in Makale District, Tana Toraja. A quantitative descriptive approach was used, involving all 7 active extension workers and 30 sample farmers receiving the technology packages from a population of 139 in Batu Papan Village. The results showed that farmers' understanding of the technology packages was very high, with an index of 82.6%. The overall performance of extension workers was also in the very high category (index 82%), with one outstanding extension worker achieving the highest score. These findings indicate the successful implementation of the extension program. Based on the results, the study recommends optimizing information technology-based extension media, such as videos, infographics, and simple agricultural applications, to further facilitate farmers' understanding and adoption of technological innovations.
