Abstract

Local leaders have a role as opinion leaders and development agencies in supporting the realization of a dynamic group in improving the ability of groups related to communication, motivation, to facilitating and social contacts, knowledge of groups and foster group experience. Rural communities still face problems, especially individuals that have not been able to develop itself in enhancing the ability of the group through the role of local leaders. The purpose of this study is to identify the role of local leaders in improving the ability of a group. This research was conducted in the village of Pulo Kencana, helter subdistrict, Serang regency. The number of respondents was 45 respondents with tree of farmer groups. The results showed that the role of local leaders in improving the ability of the group is high. This is due to the behavior on the actions of the leaders in facilitating the communication, increasing the motivation of group members and facilitating the group.Key words: local leaders, leaders role, groups ability

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi peternak terhadap kinerja penyuluh dalam pengembangan teknologi pengolahan jerami padi dan limbah ternak sapi potong. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Mattirosompe, Kabupaten Pinrang, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Penentuan sampel peternak sebagai responden dari populasi peternak ditentukan secara acak pada masing-masing desa, dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 64 peternak. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara menggunakan kuesioner dan focus group discussion.Indikator untuk mengukur kinerja penyuluh mengacu berdasarkan responsivitas, responsibilitas, dan kualitas layanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi peternak terhadap materi, metode dan media penyuluhan dalam rangka pengembangan teknologi pengolahan jerami padi sebagai pakan dan limbah ternak sapi sebagai biogas dan pupuk telah sesuai kebutuhan peternak, materi penyuluhan yang disampaikan adalah materi yang aktual dan mudah dipahami oleh peternak, media dan metode penyuluhan yang dilakukan telah sesuai dengan materi penyuluhan yang diberikan oleh penyuluh. Sebagian besar penyuluh memberikan materi berkaitan dengan pakan sapi potong (73,4%), diikuti oleh materi pengelolaan limbah ternak (60,9%), penyakit dan perkandangan, reproduksi, dan lainnya. Kata Kunci : Persepsi Peternak, Kinerja Penyuluh, Pengolahan

Abstract

Creative economy craftsmen have big contribution to regional income and able to sustain in crisis. It can be seen on the average of Gross Domestic Product has employed 5.4 million in average for 2002-2009 with participation level of 5.8%. Therefore, a strategic sustainability is needed especially for the determinant factors of sustainability related to creative economy craftsmen. This research aims to observe the determinant factors of sustainability of creative economy craftsmen in Wajo and Bulukumba Regencies in South Sulawesi Province. Sample for the research was 215 creative economy craftsmen. Data collection is conducted on January to April 2012 consists of primary and secondary data. Research method was using prospective analysis to determine important factors to the sustainability of creative economy craftsmen that predict future alternatives. Result from Rap-UEK simulation for the composite of five dimensions showed a less sustainable status of 48.97%. Abstract

Silk development in Wajo Regency is relatively strategic since it involves farmers, opens businessopportunities, gives an opportunity for populist economic development, and increases farmer’s income and foreignexchange. Wajo Regency is known as silk producer city in South Sulawesi. Silk weaving activity has been the dailyactivity of Sengkang Bugis people since their ancestors. The research purposes were (1) to what extent is thecharacteristic of silk craftsmen in silk craft development conducted in Tanasitolo Sub-district Wajo Regency; and(2) how is silk product development in Tanasitolo Sub-district Wajo Regency. The research was conducted atPakkana Village Tanasitolo Sub-district Wajo Regency with consideration that the area is one of centers for silkproduct business development in Wajo Regency. Samples taken were 30 people using purposive sampling. Theresearch results indicate that the characteristics of silk craftsmen in Tanah Sitolo area of Wajo Regency were: 1)Respondents in Pakkanna Village were all female; (2) the highest respondent age (80%) was between 26-50 yearsold; 13.33% were under 25 years old and 6.67% were above 50 years old; (3) respondent’s family dependents weremostly 5-6 people, which was 36.67 percent; (4) based on experience, most respondents has the longest experiencesof 20-25 years, which was 13 percent; and (5) most respondents (50%) had average level of education of junior highschool (SMP). Silk craft development had been long conducted but it was in the level of design motive renewalpacked with modern motive according to merchants’ order level and consumers’ direct order. The development hasbeen a creative economic-based development.

Abstract

This service aims to provide socialization related to community knowledge and skills in managing economic benefits and business opportunities. Community service activities use three approaches, namely the lecture approach, experience sharing, and discussion. The research location was conducted in Pabundukang Village, Pangkajene District, Pangkep Regency, with a total sample of 20 people as respondents. The results of the dedication show that the results are significant. Due to the results of the comparison before and after the socialization of knowledge, the results showed that the percentage increased was quite high. Therefore, it can be suggested that community service activities in the Pabundukang sub-district, Pangkajene District, Pangkep Regency can be carried out regularly so that the community always has new or up-to-date knowledge so that they can compete in the creative industry.

Abstract

ABSTRAKVolume sampah yang semakin meningkat merupakan isu yang ditemui di kota dan desa seiring meningkatnya populasi dan aktivitas manusia.  Sampah perlu dikelola dengan baik agar tidak berakibat buruk bagi kehidupan manusia. Penanganan sampah memerlukan keterampilan khusus, dan penelitian ini mengkaji upaya penanganan sampah oleh perempuan tani di Desa Benteng, Kabupaten Bogor. Tujuan penelitian meliputi mengetahui persepsi masyarakat tentang lingkungan, menganalisis pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah sampah menjadi pupuk organik, dan  menganalisis tingkat kepedulian masyarakat tentang lingkungan demi kelestariannya. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan teknik penilaian tentang sampah dan lingkungan oleh 30 responden wanita tani tanaman obat keluarga (toga), dilanjutkan dengan kaji tindak.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keluarga tani di Desa Benteng mempunyai persepsi yang positif tentang lingkungan dan mendukung pemeliharaan alam, namun persepsi tersebut belum diikuti oleh tindakan nyata.  Aksi bersama berupa praktik bersama mengolah sampah menjadi pupuk organik (kompos) merupakan salah satu forum mendorong masyarakat mengelola sampah. Sampah yang diolah menjadi pupuk organik dimanfaatkan perempuan tani memupuk tanaman obat keluarga (Toga) yang ditekuni oleh wanita tani.  Aksi bersama tersebut perlu disertai penyuluhan tentang pengolahan kompos untuk usaha toga. Hal ini dapat memantapkan difusi-adopsi dalam pertanian berwawasan lingkungan. ABSTRACTThe volume of garbage keep increase and needs waste management to prevent human life from hazard.  The issue of increasing volume of garbage has also found in Kampung Gunung Leutik, Benteng Village, in Ciampea, District of Bogor.  Kampung Gunung Leutik has been known as Kampung Toga (herbal village). The women group run Toga expect that the village can exist as eco-village with characterised by ability to conserve the ecosystem through processing organic waste into compost. The research objectives are to know community perception about environment, to analyse ability of the members of women Toga group  to process waste into organic fertilizer (compost), and to analyse the community awareness to the environment conservation for the sustainabilty.  A number of 30 respondents were interviewed for their perception to the environment and to manage the waste.  Assessment was followed by concrete action in composting conducted at the research site.  The research results showed that perception of the community to the environment is positive and care to the environment, but this perception has not followed by concrete action. The women farmer’s group felt the needs to make organic fertilizer (compost) from waste, then they involved in a co-learning through a training to make  compost. The compost was  used to fertilize the medicinal plants that cultivated by the women. Further extension on composting is needed to enhance community willingness to support diffusion-adoption in waste management by making compost as organic fertilizer to support their agribusiness in herbal family medicine.

Abstract

The sugarcane based sugar industry is a source of income for sugarcane farmers and workers in the industry. However, farmers often complain about the high price and cost of farming, which result in a decrease in the quality of sugarcane. The survival of sugarcane farmers is threatened, including those in Kampung Beru Village as one of the largest suppliers of sugarcane for Takalar Sugar Factory. This study aims to explore the competitiveness of sugarcane farming based on competitive and comparative advantages. Data collection was carried out through interviews and focus group discussion (FGD) involving 76 farmers. Policy analysis matrix (PAM) was utilized for data analysis. The results showed that the private cost ratio (PCR) value, an indicator of competitive advantage, was 1 (1.048), suggesting that sugarcane farming does not have a competitive advantage. Domestic resource cost ratio (DRCR) as an indicator of comparative advantage had a value of 1 (1.795), indicating that sugarcane farming also has no comparative advantage. Sugarcane farming has extremely low competitiveness. Hence, the government is advised to increase sugarcane productivity by conducting campaigns to use superior seeds, increase the efficiency of production facilities, revise purchase price standards, and regulate the marketing system.JEL Classification A10; B40; B55

Abstract

Anrihua Village is one of the villages in Kindang subdistrict, Bulukumba district which has the potential to produce palm sugar of the best quality. Changes in the business system both from social, cultural, and economic aspects as well as the characteristics of palm sugar craftsmen require a continuous process. The objectives of this research are: 1) To determine the characteristics of palm sugar craftsmen in Anrihua Village, Kindang District. 2) To find out the process of making palm sugar in Anrihua Village, Gantarang District. 3) To analyze the resilience of palm sugar craftsmen from social, cultural, and economic aspects in Anrihua Village, Kindang District. This research was carried out in July – August 2023. This research was conducted in Anrihua Village, Kindang District, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The population and sample in this study were taken by census, namely 33 palm sugar craftsmen. The results of this research show that the identity of palm sugar craftsmen in Anrihua Village is that the age of productive palm sugar craftsmen is 36 years to 57 years. Palm sugar craftsmen are dominated by women. The education of most palm sugar craftsmen is only in elementary school (SD). palm sugar in Anrihua Village ranges from 3 years to 12 years and the number of dependents of palm sugar craftsmen in the family ranges from 1 person to 4 people. The process of making palm sugar in Anrihua Village, Kindang subdistrict is still simple and traditional. The resilience of palm sugar craftsmen from 33 respondents shows the value of the social aspect with a percentage of 53% (Less Resistance), the cultural aspect with a percentage of 66% (Surviving), and the economic aspect with a percentage of 64% (Surviving).

Abstract

Abstrak. Peran pengrajin dalam meningkatkan pendapatan usaha tenun melalui kegiatan yang dilakukan pengrajin yaitu investasi, bahan baku, pemintalan, pencucukan (desain motif) dan pemasaran.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pengrajin dalam kegiatan usaha tenunnya, dan Untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pendapatan pengrajin tenun  dalam usaha tenunnya.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Deskriptif kualitatif, dengan metode pengambilan data melalui observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Tosora Kecamatan Majauleng Kabupaten Wajo, dengan menggunakan 33 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1). Peran pengrajin dalam kegiatan usaha tenunnya  sebagai pengelola usaha  dengan persentase 69 % termasuk dalam kategori berperan, sebagai desain motif dengan persentase 56 % cukup berperan dan  sebagai tenaga kerja dengan persentase 97 % termasuk dalam kategori sangat berperan.  Pengrajin tenun  berperan dalam kegiatan usaha tenunnya, mulai dari investasi, bahan baku, pencucukan (desain motif), penenunan dan pemasaran.  Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan sehingga dapat  menghasilkan pendapatan,  menciptakan lapangan kerja dan memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari.  2).  Penerimaan dalam sebulan diperoleh dengan rata-rata Rp. 1.902.273, dengan total biaya variabel Rp. 642.755, dan  pendapatan per bulan yang diperoleh dengan rata-rata Rp.  1.245.237 Kata Kunci: Peran, Pengrajin Tenun, Pendapatan

Abstract

Agribisnis kacang tanah mempunyai prospek untuk dikembangkan mengingat pasar masih terbuka lebar bagi komoditas kacang tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui prospek pengembangan usahatani kacang tanah di Desa Bijawang Kecamatan Ujung Loe Kabupaten Bulukumba. Jumlah responden sebanyak 50 orang dengan menggunakan metode sampel jenuh. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor internal kekuatan lebih tinggi dengan skor 2,18 dibandingkan faktor kelemahan yaitu skor 1,15, kemudian faktor eksternal peluang lebih tinggi dengan nilai skor 1,76 dibandingkan faktor ancaman yaitu skor 1,21 sehingga prospek pengembangan usaha tani kacang tanah berada pada posisi kuadran 1, artinya posisi pengembangan menguntungkan bagi petani karena usaha tani memiliki peluang dan kekuatan yang lebih besar dibandingkan kelemahan dan ancaman. Adapun faktor Internal yang mendorong usaha tani di Desa Bijawang meliputi faktor kekuatan (transportasi lancar, kondisi lahan yang subur, lahan milik sendiri, dan tingginya permintaan) dan faktor kelemahan (cuaca tidak menentu, teknologi yang masih sederhana, kurangnya modal petani, dan pengalaman yang minim) sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi faktor peluang (Harga kacang tanah yang terus meningkat, dan permintaan pasar tinggi) dan faktor ancaman (Tingginya serangan hama, meningkatnya konversi lahan, persaingan pasar, tidak tersedianya lembaga permodalan, dan minimnya penguasaan teknologi dan inovasi).
