Abstract

This research focuses on the issue of patriotism, which is then linked to the foundations of the Qur’an and Hadith, its contextualization with Indonesia (NKRI), and its relationship with the caliphate, imamate, and similar Islamic political systems. The indicators of patriotism and its contextualization with NKRI are important to discuss, given that many circles question the democratic system in Indonesia and consider it a rejected system, taghut, and a form of disbelief, such as groups like Hizb al-Tahrīr (HT), the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Khilafatul Muslimin (KM) who promote the concept of the caliphate, Shia who promote the concept of the imamate, and the like. The research is motivated by the recent phenomenon of many young Indonesians being affected by the aforementioned ideologies and becoming overly zealous in their religion. This concern is supported by survey results from several institutions. A survey by the Lembaga Kajian Islam dan Perdamaian (LaKIP) on radicalism among students and Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in Jabodetabek from October 2010 to January 2011 showed that nearly 50% agreed with radical actions; 25% of students and 21% of teachers stated that Pancasila was irrelevant; 84.8% of students and 76.2% of teachers agreed with the implementation of Islamic law; and 52.3% of students and 14.2% justified bomb attacks. The Pew Research Center’s 2015 study revealed that about 10 million Indonesians supported ISIS, most of whom were young people. This research attempts to objectively view the above phenomenon based on the Qur’an and Hadith literature and its relation to the concept of dar al-mitsaq, so that the people of this country, especially its youth, do not become overly zealous in their religion. Ultimately, this research concludes that: 1) There are ten indicators of religious moderation practices, including patriotism, which is defined as the feeling that arises from the heart of a citizen to serve, maintain, defend, and protect their homeland from all threats and disturbances, willing to sacrifice for the interests of their nation and country, and love the customs and culture of their nation, thus not easily accepting offers from other nations that could harm their own nation; 2) Like the Medina Charter, Pancasila is a national consensus agreed upon by the founding fathers of Indonesia. All nations within it, without exception, are protected by the state as long as they do not violate the agreement and do not break the law in terms of norms, ethics, and legality.

Abstract

This paper discusses the MUI fatwa on Ahmadiyah. The purpose of this research is to find out MUI's interpretation of religious harmony, as well as to find out the verses used by MUI in its fatwa on Ahmadiyah through the concept of hermeneutics Abou Khaled El Fadl. To answer this problem, the researcher uses the maudhu'i interpretation approach, which is interpreting the verses of the Qur'an not based on the order of the verses, but based on the problem being studied. It means to explain the verses of the Qur'an by referring to one specific subject, namely Ahmadiyya. This research uses a qualitative approach with library research. Data collection techniques are done by quoting, adapting, and analyzing the literature that is relevant to the problem discussed, then reviewing and concluding. The results showed that; through the authoritative hermeneutics of abou khaled el fadl against the MUI fatwa on the misguidance of the Ahmadiyah, there are several assumptions including: first, of the five conditions that require, there are conditions that have not been fulfilled, namely honesty and conference. Second, there are faith-based assumptions that are very dominant in this institution.

Abstract

The term corruption is known in modern society and was not found in the early days and development of Islam. In Indonesia, many corrupt practices were found around 1950. Furthermore, in relation to its legal arguments, al-Qur’an does not directly mention laws and sanctions for corruptors. Therefore there are many differences of opinion in determining the sentence. This research will discuss and explore the laws and sanctions for corruptors from the four verses of the Qur'an, namely QS. Āli ‘Imrān [3]: 161, QS. Al-Nisā '[4]: 29, QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 188, and QS. Al-Māidah [5]: 38 using the khāfī alfāz interpretation approach. By using thematic methods and liberative hermeneutics, this study finds a conclusion that the law of corruption is the same as al-sāriq and the legal consequences are the same as thieves, namely punishment (cutting off hands) or imprisonment

Abstract

Prophet Muhammad was a perfect person in all things. His character, attitude, and intellectuality cannot be determined by anyone. Because of his profession, he received the title of Al-Amin, because of his morality he was known as a person with noble character and an example, and because of his intelligence, he could master language intelligence, arithmetic, memorization, visual intelligence, vision intelligence, and intelligence in solving problems. But behind all that, Prophet Muhammad was known as an ummi, meaning he could not read and write. Is a perfect person worthy of having an ummi personality? This study aims to explain the concept of the ummi of the Prophet Muhammad by observing the epistemology of Burhani Muhammad Abed Al-Jabiri. It is hoped that later it can produce a conclusion that successfully recontextualizes the meaning of ummi so that the existence of the Prophet Muhammad is truly very important. His greatness and glory can factually fulfill the four mandatory characteristics of the apostle. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach that is library-based and the data analysis used is descriptive. The results of this study indicate that the existence of the Prophet Muhammad as an ummi is that he did not know and understand the contents of the Bible at all. However, the revelation of the Qur'an that he received had many similarities in content, such as previous stories. The results of this conclusion then became a re-contextualization of the meaning of ummi, because if until now ummi is still interpreted as illiterate, it does not change that the Prophet Muhammad was stupid and backward and contradicts one of the mandatory characteristics that must be possessed by a Messenger, namely fathanah (intelligent).

Abstract

The figure of the author of the book Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din, Imam Al-Ghazali, in the field of interpretation is not yet widely known by the public, even though he has made quite a large contribution to the discourse on the study of interpretation of the Qur'an, with his intelligent and "liberal" ideas. ” in understanding and interpreting the Koran. He once wrote a work of interpretation, Yaqut al-Ta'wil fi Tafsir al-Tanzil, which reached 40 volumes, although we cannot inherit this precious work. In addition, he also wrote a book on the study of the Qur'an, Jawahir al-Qur'an and Qanun al-Ta'wil and a particular chapter, Fahm al-Qur'an wa Tafsiruh bi al-Ra'yi min Ghairi al-Naql as stated in the book Ihya' 'Ulumu al-Din. For this reason, this research is planned to confirm al-Ghazali's capacity as a mufassir, by examining one of the books that collects his interpretations of the Qur'an as presented in the book Tafsir al-Imam al-Ghazali compiled by Muhammad al-Rihani . This research will use a qualitative-descriptive research paradigm, which seeks to describe the ways and methods of Imam Al-Ghazali's interpretation of Al-Qur'an verses from the book Tafsir al-Imam al-Ghazali and books, books and journal articles related to the research theme. This. From the several data sources above, all data that meets the needs of the theme is taken and analyzed using content analysis. Some of the discussions planned and considered important in this research are; 1) Imam Al-Ghazali's intellectual biography, 2) Tafsir al-Imam al-Ghazali, Al-Ghazali in the Tafsir Al-Qur'an Discourse, and 3) Imam Al-Ghazali's concept of Ta'wil in the book Tafsir al-Imam al- Ghazali

Abstract

Low self-acceptance can have a significant negative impact on an individual's body image and mental health. The body positivity movement has emerged in response to unrealistic physical standards, promoting an attitude of gratitude and acceptance toward one's own body. This study examines the role of body positivity in mental health and self-acceptance from a Qur’anic perspective. Employing a qualitative, library-based research design with a thematic (maudhu'i) approach, the study analyzes relevant Qur’anic verses—namely, QS. Al-Tin: 4, QS. Al-A'raf: 31, QS. Ibrahim: 7, and QS. Al-Hujurat: 13. Data were collected from both primary and secondary sources, including classical and contemporary tafsir literature as well as relevant scientific studies. The findings demonstrate that the Qur’an embodies values supportive of body positivity, such as recognition of the perfection of human creation, the centrality of gratitude, and an emphasis on piety over physical appearance. These results indicate that the principles of body positivity are consonant with Islamic teachings and can contribute to improved mental health, self-confidence, and the reduction of stress associated with unrealistic body standards. The practical implication is that Qur’anic values may serve as a foundation for nurturing positive self-awareness and psychological well-being.

Abstract

Al-Baqarah [2]: 30, QS.
