Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the knowledge level of Generation Z regarding the local wisdom of the Aceh community in disaster mitigation. A descriptive quantitative method was used, with students from Syiah Kuala University representing Generation Z as the sample. Data were collected using a true/false test administered to the students. The data were then analyzed using statistical formulas, with knowledge levels classified into high, medium, and low categories. The results showed that, for each aspect of Acehs local wisdom in disaster mitigation, the students' knowledge level was below 20% (58 respondents). Out of a total of 288 respondents, only 17% (49 students) exhibited a high level of knowledge, 19% (55 students) a low level, and 64% (184 students) a medium level regarding the local wisdom of the Aceh community for disaster mitigation. In conclusion, the study suggests that Aceh's local wisdom for disaster mitigation may be at risk of fading among future generations. Thus, there is a need for serious efforts from both the government and the Aceh community to socialize and internalize this local wisdom among the younger generation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of environmental sustainability at the High School level. This research takes a case study at Adiwiyata School in a disaster-prone area of Banda Aceh City, Indonesia, that applied the concept of sustainability in the learning curriculum. The data was collected by using Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey (MSELS) instruments. These instruments are related to knowledge, concern, and attitude domains for analyzing high school students' perceptions. Data was collected by giving questionnaires to gather information about how students define sustainability. Data analysis was performed with a statistical percentage of questionnaire answers and open-ended questions about the knowledge of students' environmental issues and sustainability from a global perspective. The results showed that the most known environmental issues by students were environmental issues related to the effects of greenhouse gases and the effects of climate change. Based on the results of the study found that as many as 73% of students said they had heard the issue and could not explain it. The level of environmental concern of students within environmental issues is quite good. Students choose the form of environmental sustainability in terms of saving energy, recycling, and developing renewable energy sources.

Abstract

Conflict between elephants and humans is a serious problem in Salah Sirong Jaya Village, Bireuen Regency, Aceh. These conflicts have an impact on crop damage, loss of community income, and threats to elephant and human safety. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of electric fencing in minimizing these conflicts. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through in-depth interviews and direct observation. The results of the study show that the installation of electric fences is able to significantly reduce the frequency of conflicts between elephants and humans. People feel safer and productivity increases. However, the long-term effectiveness of electric fencing depends on regular maintenance, financial support, and active participation of the community. With proper management, electric fencing is a sustainable solution in mitigating elephant-human conflicts, while maintaining the balance of the ecosystem

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai ketahanan bencana, khususnya dalam kesiapsiagaan terhadap bencana tsunami. Penyampaian materi kesiapsiagaan tsunami akan lebih efektif jika menggunakan media simulasi, seperti video simulasi tsunami, yang dapat membantu siswa memahami materi dalam waktu singkat dan mengingatnya dalam jangka panjang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media video simulasi tsunami terhadap pengetahuan kesiapsiagaan bencana tsunami di SMA Labschool Unsyiah Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen dengan metode kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI-IPS SMA Labschool Unsyiah Banda Aceh, dengan sampel sebanyak 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes berbentuk 20 soal pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji normalitas Chi-Kuadrat, uji homogenitas varians dengan uji F, serta uji-t Polled Varians untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 26,8 lebih besar dari ttabel = 1,701 pada taraf signifikan 0,05 dengan derajat kebebasan (dk) = 28. Karena thitung ttabel, maka hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan Ho ditolak, yang berarti media video simulasi tsunami berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kesiapsiagaan tsunami siswa. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan media video simulasi tsunami efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap kesiapsiagaan bencana. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan media ini direkomendasikan dalam proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan siswa terhadap bencana tsunami dan bencana alam lainnya

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Pemetaan UMKM Produk Khas Aceh Dengan Menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografi di Kota Banda Aceh. Tujuan Penetian ini adalah untuk memetakan persebaran UMKM produk khas Aceh, untuk memudahkan dalam pengelolaan data secara geografis. Metode yang digunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini peta digunakan sebagai media penyaji untuk mendeskripsikan dan menampilkan persebaran lokasi UMKM produk khas Aceh. Data lokasi diperoleh dengan cara mengambil titik koordinat lokasi UMKM menggunakan Google Maps atau melakukan Ploting ke lokasi UMKM menggunakan alat berupa Global Positioning System (GPS) kemudian menumpangkan data tersebut ke peta dasar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis peta maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat sebanyak 62 UMKM produk khas Aceh yang ada di Kota Banda Aceh. UMKM yang ada di Kota Banda Aceh sangat bervariasi, baik berupa usaha kuliner, kerajinan tangan, pakaian, aksesoris dan lain sebagainya. Jumlah UMKM terbanyak berada di Kecamatan Kuta Alam yaitu 32% dari total UMKM, kemudian diikuti oleh Kecamatan Baiturrahman sebesar 29%, Kecamatan Ulee Kareng sebesar 16%, Kecamatan Meuraxsa sebesar 9%, Kecamatan Leung Bata sebesar 5%, dan yang paling kecil presentasenya di Kecamatan Syiah Kuala, Banda Raya, dan Jaya Baru sebanyak 3% UMKM produk khas Aceh.

Abstract

Disasters can occur at unpredictable times; therefore, an appropriate disaster mitigation is needed. This research question is about how to integrate local wisdom and disaster resilience in the Merdeka Curriculum through a disaster-safe education program unit. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the importance of this integration. Questionnaires were distributed via Google Forms to all teachers in Aceh and several other regions in Indonesia, such as vocational school teachers in Kalimantan. A total of 144 teachers were respondents in this research. In addition, data was collected through the study literature review (SLR) method. The results of this study are (1) the value of local wisdom needs to be integrated into learning in the Merdeka curriculum to improve disaster resilience, (2) the Project Strengthening Pancasila Profile in the Merdeka Curriculum can support the integration of local cultural values and the character of disaster resilience, (3) the program The Disaster Safe Education Unit has an important role in disaster risk reduction. Therefore, stakeholders, the community, and the government need to pay attention to this condition to create students and communities who have a disaster-resilient character.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam edukasi bencana Gunung Api saat ini semakin berkembang. Salah satunya adalah Virtual Reality (VR) yang mampu menghadirkan pengalaman menjelajah Gunung Api Seulawah Agam secara realistis dan interaktif. Dengan VR, siswa dapat memahami bahaya, risiko dan mitigasi bencana Gunung Api. Hal ini membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik, efektif, dan mudah diingat dibanding metode konvensional.Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan kesiapsiagaan siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Aceh Besar terhadap risiko erupsi Gunung Seulawah Agam. Hasil pengabdian ini melalui workshop interaktif berbasis Virtual Reality, siswa dapat memperoleh pengetahuan teoritis, dan pengalaman dengan alat VR Card dalam menghadapi skenario bencana. Metode ini diharapkan dapat membentuk kesadaran kritis dan responsif terhadap bencana alam di lingkungan mereka.
